Chapter 76 Rhea

Chapter 76 Rhea

RHEA'S POV

The book in my hand was long forgotten as I was sprawled on the couch in Estefan's study, staring at him who was busy working on his computer. The way his muscle bulged out in his white shirt, threatening to tear the fabric apart whenever he moved was a sight for the sore eyes.

I also find it funny how he scrunched his eyebrows and looked back and forth between the computer and the papers stacked on his desk when he got confused. And when he gets frustrated, he would run his hand through his hair, giving him that sexy look that would make any woman drool.

"Is it me you are reading, or the book in your hand?" He glanced up at me.

My eyes widened as I picked up the book lying on my lap and put it to my face. "Of course, it's the book I'm reading." I chuckled nervously.

"Is that why the book is upside down?"

Taking a proper look at the book in front of me, I noticed I was indeed holding it upside down. "I enjoy it more when it's upside down." I lied.

He didn't say anything in response, making me wonder why he was silent at my stupid attempt of lying. I brought the book down from my face to be greeted by Estefan staring at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Okay, fine. I was staring at you. So what?" I threw the book beside me on the couch.

"I knew that, I just wanted you to admit it." He shrugged as he turned back to his computer.

Standing up from the couch, I walked toward him and perched on the edge of the desk right next to the stack of papers he was working on. "Are you not going to attend your brother's wedding? This is a once-in-a-lifetime event that you shouldn't miss."

The main reason why I was with him in the study was that everyone else was attending the Royal wedding of Esteban and Anna. Estefan refused to leave me alone in our room which was why he made me stay with him in the study.

"You have been trying to convince me to go to the wedding since you woke up this morning. Just give up already, it's not going to work." His eyes didn't leave the computer as he spoke to me.

I sighed in defeat before peeking at what he was doing. "What's all that?" I pointed at the confusing stuff displayed on the screen of the computer.

"They are some state affairs document that needs to be looked into."

"State affairs? I thought you were only in charge of the business investment, so why are you doing this?" I raised my eyebrows at him.

"I'm only helping Esteban since he is busy with his wedding and would be gone for a month for their honeymoon." He sighed as he leaned into his seat.

"Aren't you tired though?" I could see on his face that he was stressed out and needed some rest. "You have been on it all morning, you should get some rest."

"You know when I still used to stay with my mom, she would always let me rest my head on her chest and sang the Beauty and the Beast song as she caressed my hair whenever I was feeling weak or tired." He smiled at the memory.

That was the first time he would ever talk to me about his mom. The curious part of me wanted to ask more about his mother but I decided not to push my luck.

"Do you want me to do that?" I asked.

"Will you?" His eyes bored into mine and I nodded.

He pulled my arm, making me sit on his lap. His arms wrapped around my waist as he rested his head on my chest. I brought my hand to his head and caressed it as I began to sing the Beauty and the Beast song.

"I miss her," was the last thing he said before he fell asleep in my arms.

The following morning, I made my way down to the living room as Anna's parents were about to leave for Denmark. I noticed Anna standing with Esmeralda near the main entrance and I approached her since I didn't get to talk to her since the wedding.

"Anna, congratulations on your wedding." I pulled her into a hug.

"Thank you." She hugged me back before we pulled away with smiles on our faces.

"Woah, I'm so excited that the both of you are now officially my sisters." Esmeralda squealed. "Rhea is my eldest sister while Anna is my elder sister."

"Wait, why is Rhea the eldest?" Anna gave her a confused look. "I'm three years older than her, I should be the eldest."

"Well, Rhea is married to my eldest son of our family, so automatically she is the eldest daughter-in-law," Esmeralda explained and I nodded in agreement.

"That's not fair." Anna pouted.

"If you want to be the eldest so bad, we can switch husbands, that way you will be the eldest daughter-in-law." I chuckled.

"No, thanks. I'll pass." She rolled her eyes. "Esteban is already tough enough to handle not to talk of Estefan."

"I know, right?" I sighed.

A clearing of a throat behind me made me jump in my spot and I looked back to see Estefan standing behind me.

How long has he been standing there? I hope he didn't hear what we were talking about.

Anna's parents hugged her and asked Esteban to take good care of her before they entered the Limousine that would be taking them to the airport.

Andrea who was still talking to Esteban stopped in front of me. "It was nice to meet you, Rhea, and I want to apologize once again for what Damien did."

"You don't have to, it's fine." I smiled.

"Thanks." He followed his parents and got into the limousine before they drove out of the Palace.

Anna sniffed and dabbed her teary eyes beside me, and I wrapped my hands around her shoulders, pulling her close to me. Estefan approached her, bringing out a small white box from his pants pocket, and stretched it to her.

"What's this?" She took the box with a confused expression on her face.

"It's a little apology for not attending your wedding." He shrugged.

"You didn't have..." Her words were interrupted by a gasp when she opened the box to met a car key.

"It's in the garage."

She ran to the garage and we followed behind her. When we got there, Anna screamed as we were greeted by a Brand New Ferrari. "Thank you so much, Estefan. I've always wanted a Ferrari."

"I know. Andrea told me." He gave her a small smile and I couldn't help but smile too.

"You know, it's completely fine that you didn't get me anything." Esteban pouted as he came to stand next to his brother.

"If I'm to remember clearly, the wedding gift you gave us was mainly for Rhea, so I'm only repaying the favour and also the paperwork I'm doing in your stead is enough as a wedding gift," he said to him before turning to me. "Let's go."

I followed behind him as we made our way to our room. He was about to enter the room when he suddenly stopped at the entrance and turned to me. "So what were you saying earlier about switching husbands?"

Shit! He heard.
