Chapter 33

Josh was there for me, Petros had come back for me, and God only knew what I would find. I was basically forced by Jade to wait for them to find that Lycan, she used an infallible argument. "How long will it take you to find the guy if you can't even travel in the sun?" And that I couldn't ignore, because it was reality.

So I was patient, I didn't come back right away, I waited a few days for that. I wasn't ready to face my father, I didn't have a plan prepared in my head for that moment. What justification would I use? Would my marriage to Petros be enough for him to swallow my disappearance without my actually being discovered? I didn't know for sure.

Days passed, Josh kept his distance from me as much as he could, I caught him sometimes staring at me, only looking away when I forced him to. He was sad, and I knew it. I could feel it in my bones, if the fear of losing myself part was true I didn't know, but it sure wasn't as hollow as I thought.

Finally I was living my last day there, I sat down with them at the dinner table, enjoyed the almost sunrise between the stones and went back to my room. When I did Josh was there, sitting on my bed, extremely impatient green eyes looking down at me.

“Josh, what are you doing here?”

I asked, but I wasn't surprised.

"You're leaving tomorrow, can't you at least stay with me today?"

He didn't smile, didn't show any expression of joy, swallowed dryly when he spoke the last word of his sentence. But it was my undoing, the sad, lost look in his eyes as if I were taking away any last lingering happiness from him.

“Josh, I don't know if I'm going to return, if I'm going to die, if I'm not. So why complicate things?”

He got up and leaned against me, so fast I think it was just the blink of an eye, his body heat now enveloped me.

“One more reason for you to stay with me Olivia! Don't make it worse!”

He ran his hands over my face, he ran his hand over my body without ever flinching from the coldness. I was just Olivia, and suddenly all that difference didn't exist anymore. I gave myself up really, I wanted him more than anything, I couldn't help but wonder for a second if this was how my mother felt in Adam's arms. The feeling of extreme protection and deep love. Only he gave me that feeling, only he gave me that kind of shiver.

Josh rested his mouth on my neck, kissed him hard and urgently, he seemed to want to devour me, his breathing becoming increasingly labored in contrast to mine. I kissed him urgently too, showing all my desire, my tongue now wandering through his mouth, which always tasted delicious, was warm and soft and caused me unexplained shivers. I could feel the burning already building between my legs, the urgency, the little smoldering clicks as he stripped me of all my clothes. The lustful look reminded me of all the times I was his, and that he was mine. Josh sucked my nipple deftly as he invaded my intimacy the way only he knew how to do it, one finger and then two making me gasp.

I made a point of taking all his clothes off, piece by piece, I looked into his eyes, I wanted him to see every one of my sensations. My gazes as I revealed his body piece by piece. I took him in my mouth and sucked hard, he arched his back, the delicious gasp coming from his lips made me want to feel him inside me even more, everywhere I could feel him.

Josh pulled me to him and kissed me again, tasting his taste of my mouth, he laid me down on the bed with violence the look was too dark for me. He kissed my thigh before moving his tongue to my entrance, and what started out as a simple kiss slowly turned into intense sucks that made my head spin. When I tried to pull away he pulled me towards him invading me with his tongue. He knew how to touch me and where to touch me. Our bodies were now as one. I sat on top of him, and felt his erection hot and deep inside me, and the delicious thrusts as he held my hair tightly. I came on top of him, and between a panting breath and another Josh was not satisfied, he kissed me again and put himself back inside me... My body was burning all over and that's when I realized that his body was burning like this too!

I wouldn't change a thing!

When we finally achieved our release he made sure to brush the hair out of my face, looking me once more in the eyes, and the look that was once of deep excitement was now one of sadness.

"I really don't want you to go Olivia"

He said giving me a confused look with his green eyes.

“I have to go Josh…I have to do this! For me, for us, for everyone! If I don't, how many people will die?"

“I don't care what happens to other people Olivia, I care what happens to you! What the hell! I don't care, I'm not altruistic, and I don't want to be!"

I lay down on his chest to avoid talking about anything.

“I love you Olivia, don't you understand that?”

“I love you too Josh!”

He hugged me tight, as if that was going to stop me from leaving when night fell.

When I got up he was still staring at me, he didn't say a word to me as I walked out the door.

Josh didn't try to stop me, he knew there was no way he could, that it would be yet another scar on our completely messed up and flawed relationship. When I got ready to leave through the door of Jade's house, she was there, with a glass of wine sitting on the sofa in the corner.

“Olivia...”

She called me, I hadn't even noticed her presence, not even for a second while going down the stairs, I got scared at the same moment. But when the dark figure morphed into her face I calmed down.

"I'm on my way, forgive me for not saying goodbye properly, I just didn't mean to cause a stir."

I lied, my problem was saying goodbye to Josh, but I couldn't escape that, he was there, staring at me with those green eyes when I.

“Okay, I get it. Don't feel bad about it. You know, I sense some things, my father says it's a gift, I say it's a curse.”

It was all clear now, so she knew about Josh, she had felt it then. It wasn't something he confessed to her at some point as I had thought.

She kept talking, and I looked at her attentive to every detail - You know Olivia, you must be careful. I know her friend has assuaged her father's wrath, but I've seen three possible endings to this endeavor of yours.... And I worried. I don't want to stop you at all, because I know I won't be able to, I just ask you to be careful. I think my brothers are entering a narrow and very dangerous path for everyone.

“Do you think it's because of me?”

“Of course Olivia, they are Lycans not Aaryns, they will fight for you until the end”
