Chapter 73 Alpha Martin
Chapter 73 Alpha Martin
Upon hearing Martin's words, a dreadful suspicion sprang into Tobias's mind. He gritted his teeth and asked, "What do you mean? What have you done to my parents?"
Martin revealed an evil smile, disappointingly shaking his head at Tobias. "I thought you would learn something after finding that Omega's wife. After all, the Omega who destroyed Arthur and Nora's car back then was following my orders."
Tobias stared at Martin in astonishment, forgetting to shift forms, even forgetting the pain induced by the potion. "What... what are you saying?"
Martin twirled the scepter in his hand, continuing to unveil a secret hidden for 14 years. "You know I had a tumor, right? In fact, your father, Arthur, discovered that tumor before you were born."
"You know his exceptional talent in pharmaceutical research. After he discovered the tumor, he developed a formula for a potent drug. Your mother, Nora, designed a machine to produce that specific drug. Thanks to their efforts, my tumor stopped growing. But at the same time, I lost the ability to shift."
"Why did you order someone to kill them then?" Tobias clenched his fists, asking through gritted teeth.
"When you were eight, my tumor worsened. At that time, Arthur found a solution: extracting the shifting powers from around 100 Alphas and transferring them to me would eliminate my tumor. Nora also designed the machine for this treatment. But both of them refused to go through with it."
"So, a waste of a son, who would rather see his father die than start a war and harm other Alphas, and a dirty rogue daughter-in-law who only contaminates the noble bloodline of the Wilton Family. Do you think I had a reason to let them continue to live?"
"Let me tell you another thing," Martin looked at Tobias, whose eyes burned with anger, and a hint of mockery flashed in his gray-blue eyes.
"When you turned 18, that device to extract the shifting ability was already completed, according to the notes left by your mother. The drug that made you think you lost your shifting ability was actually a special anesthetic developed by Edward. In reality, after you lost consciousness, your shifting ability was transferred to me. This caused my tumor to shrink."
"However, I didn't expect Victor, whom I've been grooming as my heir, to betray me for his brother, to protect you and Ellis. But, fortunately, you and Ellis have always considered him the murderer of your parents."
"Thanks to my careful arrangement of the helicopter crash that I sent for you, it deepened your hatred for him. To be honest, I'm saddened that both my sons didn't want to save their father,” Martin spoke of Victor, a regretful expression on his face, and his gray-blue eyes moistened.
"Uncle Victor? What have you done to him?" Tobias questioned, gripping the carpet beneath his hands.
He finally understood why, for over a decade, Uncle Victor never left New York to come to Los Angeles to kill him and Ellis, or invade the Golden Moon Pack. Also, after Tobias dealt with Alpha Scott, who intended to harm Alicia, there was no response from Uncle Victor's side.
It was all because he and Ellis had misunderstood the enemy. The mastermind behind the killing of his parents was his grandfather, Martin, not uncle Victor.
"Don't worry, my lovely Toby," Martin blinked away his feigned tears, continuing, "Your Uncle Victor wasn't as fortunate as you, relying on the potion your father left to restore his shifting ability.
"Now, he's lying in the backyard of the New York pack house. Perhaps, he's already reunited with your parents." Martin calmly delivered the news of Victor's death, as if he were talking about someone other than his own son.
Shaking his head, Martin sighed, "As a father, it pains me to have killed my own child. But he lost his shifting ability and still planned to kill me. I had no choice but to execute him."
"You maniac, I'll kill you!" Tobias roared, unable to contain the anger in his heart any longer, preparing to shift and kill Martin.
Martin noticed Tobias's changing limbs and a look of surprise flashed in his eyes. "Oh, my dear child, don't be in such a hurry to kill me! Although your strength is recovering quickly, I must remind you. Ellis and my dear Allie are still under my control."
"Killing you will naturally save them," Tobias said through gritted teeth. His wolf was impatiently ready to snap Martin's throat.
"Do you know what I injected into Allie when I got on the car earlier?" Martin asked.
That question made Tobias's transformation pause in the blink of an eye.
"It's a new version special potion. Better than the one you'd taken years ago. It can facilitate the extraction and transfer of her shifting ability by the machine in just one minute."
"But the potion requires an antidote to eliminate the after-effects. So if you kill me now, my Beta Carl will kill Edward immediately. At that time, there won't be a second person in the world who knows the formula for this special potion.
"Without taking the antidote, she will permanently lose her mind, let alone the shifting ability." Martin's smile concealed a threat and a warning to Tobias.
"You jerk!" Tobias gritted his teeth, clenched his fists, and forcefully smashed the floor of the car, worrying about Alicia and their child being taken away by Lee.
"Toby, I advise you to save some strength. How about joining my special dinner party later? Do you know where I've set the location for the dinner?" Martin asked, a hint of triumph in his eyes. He glanced at the 50-foot-high wall outside the window, reminding Tobias, "We're arriving soon."
The black luxury RV entered a narrow road, and the iron gate slowly opened. Normally, there were a few nurses pushing patients for a walk in the square, but today, not a single person was in sight, not even the chirping of birds.
Tobias looked at the familiar St. Crescent Medical Center, a bad premonition growing in his heart.
"You see, Tobias, I've always been steps ahead of you young generations," Martin stood up, leaning on his ever-present cane.
He opened his right hand, donned a benevolent mask, and smiled at Tobias, saying, "Welcome back, my disabled grandson."
