Chapter 89 Giving Her Back

Chapter 89 Giving Her Back
Ethan

I stared at Hazel with amusement, evident on my face.

Who does she think she is at the moment? Someone who has a choice?

I scoffed at her words but didn't stop looking at her. Her father's voice snapped my gaze away from her back to the werewolves.

I ran my gaze through the werewolves behind him. Growling and gnashing their teeth, ready to tear the vampires into pieces just to take her back, but that wasn't happening.

They kill me before they get to take her away from here, but that itself wasn't possible.

“You heard her. Return her now,” His voice rose in anger.

I took two steps forward, shoving Hazel aside and looking into Kimberly’s eyes.

My eyes tilted back a bit, and it sent a message to Maverick. He grabbed Hazel and held her tight.

“Let go!” She gritted, trying to wriggle herself free from him, but that wasn't possible.

“You want to leave quietly without her? Or you want us to spill some blood?” I asked.

“Let me go, Ethan!” Hazel yelled. “I won't be staying here with you!”

I turned my gaze to her, an amusing smirk on my face.

What she said didn't affect me, and it wasn't even enough to make me turn back to look at her. However, the fact that she called me by my name, when I'd always have to correct her, was what made me.

“You won't be going anywhere, Hazel,” I made sure that sounded clear and final.

I found her and made her mine. To hell with that marriage she almost had with the president's son.

Like the president's son was also on cue with what was going on in my mind, he spoke.

“She's engaged to me! We almost had our wedding! It's only fair you give her back!”

Alpha Kimberly also spoke. “You promised not to intervene!”

“I was going to bring you the guy attached to the deal after the wedding, but you ruined everything!”

“You staged everything, kidnapped her, and trapped her here!” He spat.

I chuckled, and my face went to the ground for just a moment. When I lifted the gaze, it was more darkened than ever.

I took another two steps, which led me to stand so close to the Alpha. He didn't look scared of me; he didn't even blink his eyes for a brief second.

“I staged everything?” It made me scoff. “You still never found out that the people behind her kidnapping were the ones you kept so close to yourself?”

The alpha went silent and only looked everywhere but my eyes for a few minutes. I let him think and stood patiently in front of him.

When he finally put pieces and pieces together and realized what I was talking about, he clenched his jaw and folded his fists.

“Bestat, that bastard.”

I smirked, glad that he knew.

“I only rescued your daughter from being killed by rogues,” I paused. “I don't need you to thank me.”

“You lost her and I found her,” I said. “And when I say something is mine, then it's mine.”

“Not when it comes to my daughter, Ethan!” The alpha roared, stamping his feet on the ground.

The werewolves behind him growled, deep and dark.

“You took my wife away from me,” he gritted. “I won't let you take my daughter, too!”

His wife. It made me let out a low chuckle.

“Don't worry,” I smirked. “I won't kill your daughter just yet.”

“You are crazy! You deserve to die!” Hazel's voice roared behind me, and I could see with the corner of my eye how she was trying to wriggle her arms free from Maverick, who didn't give her the chance.

“Attack him! Do anything to get my daughter back to this side!” He roared.

“Fire!” The president's son also yelled. “I want my wife back, lord Ethan!”

It was no longer funny to watch. The wolves made their move, and without a word from me, the vampires knew they also needed to attack.

Vampires and humans ran into each other, the armed men going to take places where they could take better shots of the vampires. They had silver bullets with them, I knew.

I quickly turned to Maverick. My gaze darkened as I spoke. “Don't let go of her, no matter what.”

“Protect her,” I ordered.

He bowed, moving away from where the fight was taking place.

Her gaze locked onto mine for some brief seconds, and she stared at me with her eyes filled with venom, her breathing so hard.

I took my gaze away from her and moved over to the fight.

I let the enforcers and Elaine handle the werewolves while I moved over to the humans who had been throwing bullets around while targeting the vampires.

With a kick, I sent one flying to the gates, and he fell, coughing out blood and staying paralyzed on the floor.

I sped towards the next one and just as he was about to pull the trigger, I landed my feet on his hand, making him groan.

He tried to pick the gun up again, and he was able to, but before he could pull the trigger, I turned around, trapping him down around his neck with my legs.

With my legs, I turned his neck, having him breathe his last with that.

There were still three of them. The werewolves were injured already. They had stab wounds and blood dripping out of their bodies, except the Alpha and two others.

I watched as Elaine held the gun of one of the armed men who tried to attack her and threw him to the floor, placing her legs on his stomach, snatching the gun, and battering his face with the gun, which was soon stained with blood.

A wolf jumped over me, trying to attack me, but I dodged, and the wolf finally ended up in front of me.

I recognized him. It's Alpha Kimberly.

He attacked me again, and I swerved to the side, but his claws were still able to slash my arm.

I also stretched my leg before he could completely move away from him and helped him fall.

He rolled on his back before bringing his legs up again and standing, a growl erupting from him.

The vampires were winning as the werewolves were mostly injured, and almost all the armed men died.

The alpha raised his head, growling loudly, and I know that sign; it's a sign of retreat.

They all rushed out of the gates, jumping over the fence.

Damien looked over at me with gritted teeth before he moved out with the others.

I breathed out in relief, seeing everyone of them out of the gates. But only then did I notice Elaine was on the floor, holding her stomach and groaning.

My eyes widened as I rushed over to her.

“Elaine!” I yelled in panic and lifted her off the ground, holding her in my arms.

My gaze moved to where she had gotten injured, and it was burning, making me realize she had been hit with a silver bullet.

Her face had become so sweaty, and her breathing was so hard as she gasped.

“Ethan...” she choked. “It hurts…. So much,” she said, then fell into unconsciousness.
