Chapter 69
Chapter 69
Evelyn’s POV
It was torture, a brutal one, to bath with Damon, and still have to restrain myself from reaching out and touching his perfect body. He looked as though he had just fallen out from a fashion magazine, so beautiful, so perfect.
He noticed me staring and grinned. “Like what you see princess?”
I flushed and turned away, suddenly feeling conscious of my own body. But just then, his hands wounded around me, and he drew me impossibly closer. My bare back touching his hardening younger member.
A shiver ran through me, as I felt his hot breath fanning my neck through the shower. Everything suddenly felt so hot, and I felt myself leaning even closer to him.
He hissed. “When you do that Princess, it takes everything in me not to take you on that wall. You make me lose control.” He kissed my neck gently, and my breathing hitched.
I subconsciously gridded my butt closer to him, and he groaned, his body stiffening.
“Don’t do that princess.” His voice sounded so restrained, “I might not be able to hold back.” I could hear the fast beating of his heart, felt his hardness pressing down on my lower back.
I bit my lower lip, suddenly feeling the need to be a little rebellious. I inched closer. Damn, this felt good.
“You are Alpha, who could query you?” Maybe it was the atmosphere, but my voice came out husky and aroused. I felt blood rush to my face.
In an instant, I was turned around, and my back hit the wall, the water hitting us both, as he captured my lips in a hard breathless kiss. A moment later, he broke the kiss and whispered against my lips, with a smile that made my heart race.
“Your wish is my command Princess, lets make it quick.”
I dressed quickly, thankful for the cloth collection Damon had prepared for me before now. The clothes were a safe distinction from my usual raggish outfit I was accustomed to wearing back then.
My palms felt sweaty as I descended the stairs, it seemed as though Damon’s smoothening have been pushed away by my own fear, and the nervousness took over.
As though sensing my discomfort, Damon reached out and took my hand in his, sending me a brief smile before he turned back, his face turning serious, but I could still feel the tenderness in his touch, and in the way he held my hand.
Eyes turned as we descended the stairs, hand in hand, with Damon standing so close to me, as though offering me the warmth of his body.
He led me to the front of the pack, where the stood in rows. My eyes moved swiftly across them. Some were smiling, so broadly that I could see their teeth from the distance, but others, well not so much.
I was quick enough to notice the she-wolf who stood near the front, she was a bit older than I am obviously, and her lips curved just slightly, clearly showing how forced her smile was. I felt all the hairs in my body stand.
Then, Damon’s voice rang out, deep and commanding, breaking through my line of thoughts. “This is Evelyn, your Luna. My wife.”
There was something about how he made that introduction that made me look up at him, his hand had moved protectively behind my back, and he was staring down at me with a small smile.
But Silence followed his statement, it was the pin drop silence. I could feel their eyes on me, as though trying to figure me out with their gaze alone, to learn my secrets if I had any.
Just then, a clap rang out, followed by another, and then they were all applauding, and when I turned, I saw they were bowing too.
My heart tightened, and I forced a smile to my face. I could feel the tension in the air, and no matter how widely their lips were stretched, it mostly screamed fake to me.
I felt judged under their gazes, but I kept the smile on my face.
After Damon addressed them, while possessively holding me to himself. Even though I wanted to crawl into any hole and hide there forever, I still couldn’t help but feel protected under his hold.
Damon motioned on me to say something, it was a way to show I was like a normal person, and not some dumb worthless thing, clinging unto their Alpha for dear life.
I swallowed hard, digging my fingers into my palm. I stepped forward, forcing the smile to my face again as I waved at them slightly.
“Hello everyone, my name is Evelyn…”
Please God, let my voice not shake.
“I am so pleased to see you all, and I am glad you guys accepted me to be part of this Pack. I know I am not so perfect yet, maybe you expected someone more refined or better…”
Why am I even saying this? I don’t know.
“But I am not here to just be a Luna by title, but I am here to stand by you all, so we can all be one, help one another to achieve our greatest goal, peace and progress.”
Okay, I don’t even know what or why I am saying this, but the words kept flowing out, just like it does whenever I am nervous.
I bit my lip and turned to leave, but just then, a clap rang out, followed by another, and then everyone was clapping. Some were whistling and the smiles seemed more real than before.
At first, I stood frozen staring at them with wide eyes; I didn’t expect that from them. But then, I felt Damon’s arms wrap around me, and then he gently pecked my cheek.
“Welcome home, my queen.”
As we walked away, I leaned in and whispered to Damon. “Okay, I expected that to have gone a lot worse.”
Damon chucked, pinching my nose softly. “You did great love, you sounded like a born Alpha just then.”
I made a face at him, but he laughed.
Certainly, not everyone was happy, but this was better, at least this way I had more chances of showing everyone that I really deserve to stand by Damon, as his Luna.
But as we approached our room, I caught sight of the giant gold status, I paused. Damon noticed this, and stopped too. He turned to look at me with a questioning look on his face.
“What’s wrong Love?”
My eyes moved from the status to him, and then the question came out instantly.
“I have been meaning to ask, how did you manage to get all this wealth and pack, aren’t you just a rogue?”
I don’t know if that sounded bad, but his face fell, and a dark look flashed across his eyes.
