Chapter 159

Chapter 159
Erin's POV

"What, having second thoughts?" I countered, continuing to his second button, then third, revealing his muscled chest and unusual scars. "These scars..." I traced one long mark, feeling him shiver at my touch. "Where did they come from?"

"Ancient history," his voice tightened, breathing noticeably faster. "Not important."

I leaned closer, my lips almost touching his, feeling his hot breath. "Then what is important right now?"

He snapped, grabbing my neck and crushing his mouth against mine, hungry and demanding. His arms pulled me flush against him. I returned his kiss, allowing his tongue entry, feeling his body heat and obvious arousal.

Perfect. He's completely hooked.

His hand slid beneath my blouse hem, following my waist upward, rough fingertips raising goosebumps. He began unbuttoning my blouse, greedily kissing each newly exposed inch of skin.

"Erin... you're incredible," he panted against my collarbone, voice thick with desire. "I've wanted this since I first saw you..."

He backed me toward the desk, his body pressing against mine, hard and hot. When his kisses trailed toward my bra's lace edge and his fingers explored beneath my skirt, I knew he was completely lost to desire.

Now!

My knee slammed into his groin while my fingers morphed into razor-sharp claws, pressing directly against his throat's main artery. His expression transformed instantly from lust to agony and shock, eyes widening with fear.

"Don't. Move. A. Muscle," I enunciated each word clearly. "One wrong move, and I promise you'll never get hard again."

"Erin, you—"

"SHUT UP!" My claw tips broke skin, drawing a slow trickle of blood. "Answer my questions. Who are you? What does that text mean? What are you looking for?"

Jasper's face drained of color, cold sweat beading on his forehead. He attempted to struggle, but my knee increased pressure threateningly, making him gasp and freeze.

"Please... don't," he begged, voice trembling. "I can explain..."

"Explain what?" I sneered, driving my claws slightly deeper. "That you're not an ordinary intern but a spy sent by some pack? Do you think I'm stupid?" I laughed coldly. "Last chance—tell me the truth, or I'll either paint this office with your blood, or..." my knee ground gently against his now-softened groin, "ensure you never experience manhood again. Your choice."

Real fear crawled across his face, hands immediately rising in surrender. "Okay! Okay! I'll talk! Don't hurt me! I was just following orders!"

"Whose orders?" I demanded, pressing deeper, feeling his rapid pulse beneath my claws.

"I... I was sent to monitor you," he admitted between gasps, sweat streaming down his face. "But not to harm you! I swear! I just needed to find something..."

"Who sent you?" I maintained pressure, eyes locked on his, searching for any deception.

He closed his eyes, swallowed hard, and surrendered. "The Eastern Claw Pack."

"Eastern Claw Pack?" I echoed, a terrible realization striking me. "The truck attack on the clinic was your doing, wasn't it? That was NEVER an accident!"

Jasper's breathing grew ragged, guilt flashing across his eyes. "I... we never meant for anyone to be seriously hurt. It was just supposed to be a warning..."

"A warning?" I suddenly increased pressure, drawing more blood. Jasper winced in pain. "How many people did you FUCKING kill!"

"Please, calm down," he pleaded urgently, face ashen. "I was just following orders. I objected to that operation, but Fletcher insisted on teaching them a lesson."

"Fletcher?" I frowned. "Who's Fletcher?"

"The Alpha of Eastern Claw Pack," Jasper explained, voice tight with fear. "Lydia is his lover. When she fled to Alexander, she took something... critical to our pack."

I slightly eased the pressure, confusion creeping in. "What exactly are you looking for?"

He swallowed hard, Adam's apple bobbing beneath my claws. "Honestly... I'm not entirely sure what it is."

"You don't know?" I scoffed. "Then how the hell do you plan to find it? And for this mystery item, you almost killed innocent people?"

"That's why I needed to get close to Alexander and his circle," he explained, voice strained. "I only know it's extremely valuable to the pack. The attack was Fletcher's decision, not mine." Genuine remorse flickered in his eyes. "I... I truly am sorry people were hurt."

My stomach knotted with anger and concern. Does Alexander know about this? Is he protecting Lydia, or is there something more? Whatever Lydia had stolen had clearly put him in mortal danger. And that danger wasn't over.

Suddenly, Jasper made his move. He grabbed my wrist and with one swift motion reversed our positions, pinning me against the wall. Shit! My back slammed against cold concrete.

"Now that you know my true identity," he whispered in my ear, breath hot against my skin, "perhaps I should ensure you remain silent forever."

My heart hammered, fear rushing like ice water through my veins. But rationality quickly took over—my wolf analyzing the situation. Stay calm, Erin. He won't kill you. That would destroy his entire mission.

"Let me go," I said evenly, meeting his gaze directly. "If anything happens to me, your cover's blown too."

He hesitated, then slowly released me, stepping back cautiously.

"Now I understand," I said, straightening my collar. "I thought you were interested in me, but you were just using me to get to Alexander."

Jasper gave a rueful smile. "That's true. Though I didn't expect you and Ravenclaw to break up completely. That threw a wrench in my plans."

"Yeah, well, Lydia's pregnant with his child," I forced a bitter laugh. "What was I supposed to do?"

I noticed Jasper's slight frown—he clearly bought my explanation. He genuinely believed the child was Alexander's.

"Let's move to the break room," I suggested, eyeing his neck wound. "We can talk there while I patch you up."
