Chapter 83 Heat with William
Chapter 83 Heat with William
Salvatore's POV
Hours ago
“Why won't you tell me why William punched you?” Mia complained on the phone.
I sighed and rubbed my eyes as I sat on my bed. My phone was pressed against my ear. “Look, we both had a little misunderstanding.”
“Do you know William well enough to have problems with him?” she asked.
I lay back on the bed, gazing at the ceiling. “Forget about it, Mia.”
“Alright,” she said. “So... I want to talk about us.”
“I'll get back to you. I'm getting a call,” I quickly lied. Before she could speak another word, I immediately hung up.
I sat up and immediately dialed my grandmother. “Nana,” I said as she picked up.
“Hello, Salvatore. You rarely call me nowadays,” she coughed.
“I'm sorry, Nana.” I stood and began to pace around the room. “I messed up.” My voice cracked, tears clouding my eyes. “I made a huge mistake.” My hands trembled.
“What is it?” Her tone sounded confused.
“Lyra broke up with me,” I said.
She fell silent. “What did you do?” she finally asked.
“Fuck! It wasn't me.” I grabbed my hair and sat on the bed again. “Dad asked Mia and me to get married when we are older, and she heard it.”
“Oh...” she said. “Salvatore, is that why she broke up with you?”
“Yes.” My fingers clenched against my bed.
“You can get her back. Don't worry, she loves you.”
I shook my head. “No... I ruined everything. I kissed Mia in front of her.”
“You kissed Mia?” she shouted in shock. “Do you love her?”
“No, of course not. And now Mia thinks we are dating. Lyra probably hates me now. It's been hours since we got home from school, and she's not back yet. I don't know what to do.”
“Salvatore, you really messed up.”
“I know. I don't want to lose her, Nana. I love her,” I choked out.
She sighed. “Contact her, Salvatore, and make it right.”
I nodded, and she hung up.
I immediately dialed Lyra and placed the phone against my ear. It rang for a few minutes before I heard a click.
“Hello?” William's voice came through.
I stood up instantly. “Why do you have her phone? Where is my girlfriend?”
“Who? Mia?” His tone was laced with sarcasm.
“Fuck you, Liam. Where's Lyra?”
“In her bedroom,” he said.
“She's not home.”
He chuckled. “I gave her a bedroom in my home.”
“Where do you live? I'm coming to get her.”
“No.” His response was short. “She's staying at my place tonight, and I hope tomorrow as well.”
“Do you think her mother will allow it? She can't sleep outside.”
“She already called her mother to explain. It's cool,” he chuckled. He seemed to be relishing my frustration. “She said she's with Kate.”
“William, you better...” Before I could finish my sentence, he hung up.
I clenched my fist so tightly I thought my phone would break. Frustrated, I tossed my phone on the bed and marched into the bathroom. I turned on the showerhead and let the cold water flow down my head to cool down.
What went so wrong?
How did Lyra and I manage to end up like this?

Lyra's POV
I changed into one of William's T-shirts. It was large, and it went down to my thighs. I put my hair up in a messy bun when I heard a knock on the door.
I walked to it and pulled it open. It was William in a black tank top and a pair of black shorts. In his hand was a bottle of wine. He lifted it. “Wine?”
“I don't think so, Liam,” I said.
He slowly walked in, and I stepped back for him. He slammed the door shut and stepped closer. “Come on,” he said in a soft tone. “It will get your mind off things.”
I thought for a second. “Alright.”
We both moved to a couch in the corner of the room and slumped into it. He poured me a glass and also poured one for himself. I gulped it down instantly. The liquid burned my throat.
“Fuck,” I groaned.
He chuckled, his eyes fixed on me. “I have never heard you curse before.”
“I don't. Well, unless...” My words trailed off, and I pressed my lips together. I only cursed when Salvatore and I had sex, but there was no need for him to know that.
He poured me another drink. We continued to gulp it down in silence until I found it difficult to see straight.
“Pour more.” I handed him my glass.
“It's finished.” He grabbed my glass and placed it on the table before us.
“Get another bottle then.”
He stood up and walked to me. “I don't want you throwing up in the morning.” He grabbed my hands and lifted me up. “Time for bed.”
I leaned against him. “Okay,” I purred.
He grabbed my waist and led me to the bed. He tried to place me down, but I wrapped my arms around his neck. It felt as if the bed was a long fall. It would make me more dizzy.
He pulled me against himself. His eyes searched my face. “You know, Lyra, if you feel hurt about Salvatore...”
“I don't want to talk about it.” I shook my head.
“I don't want you to talk about it. Talking about it means you are thinking about him, and I don't want you to think about him.”
He gently placed me on the bed and knelt in front of me, his eyes looking up at me.
“So what do you want?”
“He betrayed you when he kissed Mia. I think you should do something to hurt him as well.”
“I don't want to hurt Salvatore. I love him.”
His jaw clenched tight. “I know, but he hurt you. How about you do something that will make him regret it?”
My eyes squinted. “Like what?”
He drew his lips to my thigh and placed a gentle kiss, and another, and another, until his lips slowly moved up. Each touch tickled through my entire body, but it wasn't Salvatore.
“William, please stop.” I placed both hands on the bed and gripped it tightly. My insides were responding to his kisses in ways they shouldn't.
He slowly parted my legs, and his finger slid against my thigh. I gasped. His touch sent electricity through me. My head flung back as his fingers brushed against my underwear and slid it aside.
“If you really want me to stop,” he kissed my thigh as his fingers circled my clit, “say it one more time, and I will stop,” he said.
