Chapter 29

Rome Leaning back in my chair, I kept my eyes glued on the papers laying on my desk. This was unbelievable, but all the information printed on them are strictly facts.

"Where did you get all this information, Josh?" I give him my full action. He was sitting in the chair facing me with a smirk on his face, his blue eyes held mischief.

"That's not important, brother. What's important is that Gina will be arrested in—" He pause and check his Rolex on his left wrist, "the next five minutes, they will contact me as soon as they have her."

My eyes search the papers for what felt like the tenth time. Credit card fraud, Robbery, battery and assault and association with drug trafficking. Gina Parks had gotten away with so much in the past, but like Julia had told her, Karma is a dangerous bitch, and she deserves the number of years she will get in prison.

I lean forward and read the paper that interest me more. Julius Roderick, a forty-nine-year-old Uber driver. According to Josh he lives in New York with his wife of fourteen years, and they have a ten-year-old son.

I didn't know how to feel about this. Julia's father was alive and well, she has a little brother and a day ago he was not even aware that he also has a daughter.

"I don't know what to do man."

Josh sigh, "She deserve to know Rome, and Julius wants to meet her. He said that Gina mistreated him while they were together, she was disrespectful and even tried to sleep with his best friend. She must have found out she was pregnant when he was long gone."

"I got rid of two of her troubles, I'll have to talk to this Julius, before allowing him to meet Julia. The last thing I want to do is allow someone who means her no good into her life."

"I wouldn't allow harm to come her way Rome, but I won't complain, do what you feel is best." Josh says. I know he cares for Julia, the two are like two peas in a pod. That's why he took matters into his own hands after I ended up summarizing Julia's situation.

He said she had only told him a little, she never actually went into details which is why he didn't do anything sooner.

I pick up my phone and call my secretary, telling her to have my private plane ready. I'll visit Julius myself and have a chat with him.

Julia Since Rome didn't want me to move out and I couldn't get a job, I decided to use the money I had saved up to continue studying business. I also did a bit of content writing as a freelancer.

I was in the middle of finishing an article on human welfare when Rome comes strolling in the room.

"Baby," he calls coming closer to me.

"Hey, what are you doing here so soon. I thought you were meeting with Ally to talk about the interior of the apartment complex."

He took my hands and pull me up from the chair, kissing my forehead he then pulls me in a hug. "Plans changed love."

He pulls away and stare down at me. "I have someone I want you to meet and I'm sorry for going behind your back to meet with him, but this man is a good man, Julia. Now I see where you got your kindness from."

"What are you talking about Rome," I stared at him perplex.

"Julius!" He called instead of answering me.

The named sound familiar. I didn't get a chance to ask Rome who this person was before I could three people entered the room. A short white woman with blond hair who held the hand of a small boy with curly dark hair and hazel eyes. A man was standing next to them, he was tall with hazel eyes and black hair. By the looks of it he was Brazilian or at least part, he stared at me with a surprised look.

I look at Rome who watches in silence, before I could say anything the woman gasp, “Oh my world Julius, she looks just like you."

The man’s hazel eyes were filled with tears, he begins to take slow steps towards me. I didn't know what to do so I just stood there while he squeezes the life out of me with his bear hug.

"I can't believe she kept you from me for almost twenty-four years," he sobs while hugging me.

This man was my father? The man who Gina told me walked out when he found out she was pregnant.

"I'm so sorry you had to suffer by her hands care bear, if only I knew then I would have come back and taken you away from her."

I return his hug and pat his back. My own eyes were getting watery.

"You didn't know about me?"

He pulls away and look into my eyes, the eyes that resembles his own. "Of course, I didn't know. Gina wasn't the best woman, and I was fed up with her behavior, so I left. If only I knew she was pregnant with you, then I would have stayed until your birth and take you away with me."

I nod, still not knowing what to say. Gina was evil and I do not put anything past her. Lying to me about my father not wanting me was something she would do; worst mother of the year went to her every single year.

Rome wraps an a around my shoulder. He was the one who brought them here, if he didn't believe this man then he wouldn't have even bothered bringing him here.

"This is my wife, Yasmine, “Julius says. Yasmine walked towards us with the boy.

Yasmine cup my cheeks, "It's so lovely to meet you Julia, you're so beautiful. When we found out about you, I was so excited to meet you. I always wanted a daughter; I hope you will accept me."

I chuckle and snob at the same time. It was a weird sound, but it didn't matter. This woman who I just met was hoping that I would accept her to take the place of a mom in my life and my own mom didn't even want me to call her mom. I couldn't help it; I pull her in a hug as tears run down my cheeks.

"And this is," I pull away from Yasmine as Julius began. He places a hand on the boy shoulder, who look a bit nervous. "Carlos, your brother."

"Hello, Carlos." I stoop a bit, so I was at his level.

Instead of saying hello, he threw his little arms around my neck causing me to fall over on my knees. I giggle and hug him back, gazing up at Rome who was smiling at me. Thanks to him I was reunited with my dad, I now had people in my life who accepts me.

This man took me into his home and gave me all I never had, and I love him.
