CHAPTER 35

Anna's POV.

As soon as the huge dining doors shut behind us I turned to face those who were already seated only, Mrs Jones smiled at me reassuringly as Lucius guided me to my seat.

I noted Elosie dressed as whorish as ever wearing a meat see-through short dress that her boobs were spilling out of. She glared at me in anger and jealously but I paid her no mind.

Lucius Pov

I took my seat at the head of the table with her in my right hand, “ Good morning all, I'm sure we're all wondering why I called for this meeting ”.

Matias paid rapt attention to what I saying which I liked “ I'll get straight to it, this will be the first and last time I will address this to the hearing of all seated here ”.

I looked around the table and I felt satisfied that even Elosie's father had honored my invitation. “ with due respect I have picked a wife and that's the end of it. I am sick and tired of Elosie being thrown at me ”

Elosie's father looked upset he clenched his fist till it became red, I knew he was offended by what I said but I didn't care, this nonsense had to stop right about now. And he dared not voice a complaint or he would face the repercussions.

“ But she not even of true mafia blood, her parents were cowards who abado…..” before Matias could finish his statement. Lucius stood up angrily and the look on his face was murderous even Matias knew to keep quiet.

“ You seem to forget who exactly I am, I am Lucius Moreti the head of the most powerful mafia and I will not take that sort of disrespect even again. You disrespect my wife you disrespect me ”.

The look on everyone's face including Anna was that of shock, I tried to not show it but I was surprised she didn't expect I would come to her defense. And put this nonsense to an end.

“ I apologize my words were out of place ” Matias said, Lucius sat back down but not without hitting the table loudly making everyone at the table jump.

“ Eloise the next time I see you near myself and my wife you would face the consequences of your blatant disrespect to my authority. Have I made myself clear ?”

“ Yes ” she whispered in her voice on the verge of tears.

“ I didn't hear you,” I said sternly.

“ Yes,” she said in a clearer tone.

“ That brings this meeting to an end, I wouldn't take any more disrespect or disregard to my new wife. And I promise you any move to make her life difficult will be rewarded heavily ”

“ Yes ” chorused round the table, “ Good, the meeting is over, feel free to help yourselves to the buffet ”.

Lucius took note of the look of anger and disapproval on everyone's face except that of his Aunt Selena Jones who looked very proud of him for standing up for his wife and marriage.

Anna looked like she would have to pick her jaw off the floor, she looked so cute I  could smile but

I had to keep up my mafia boss look when we were outside at least and it was also for the safety of her life if I let on to the public how much I cared about her she would become an easy target.

I walked straight to her chair, the whole room quiet that a pin drop could be heard. “ Get up. Leaving now,” I said in a stern voice.

She quietly got up and followed me out of the dining room, she moved towards the direction of the elevator thinking we were going out but I took her elbow gently, guiding her outside to the waiting car.

She looked up at me in confusion, as I helped her seat, I didn't answer till I slipped into the car after her . “. We're going to the Effiel tower, we haven't gotten a chance to explore or do something together . We'll be leaving Paris soon. I want to make those memories with you ”.

I wasn't expecting a reaction from her and I was pleasantly surprised when she hugged me suddenly. I held her in my arms savoring her warmth, I felt moisture on her cheeks alarmed I pulled away in concern and wiped her tears away with my thumb.

Anger welled up inside me “Did someone say something to you while we were in the dining room? Tell me immediately ”.

She shook her head gently, giving a soft smile that broke my heart “ Nobody has even stood up for me the way you just did and I'm grateful”.

I looked into the depths of her beautiful grey eyes “ As long as I breathe no one will ever bully or harm you under my watch . And that's a promise you can count on ”.

She nodded her eyes speaking how she felt for her and I pulled her in for a passionate kiss which she responded to letting me explore her mouth.

When we pulled away we were both breathing hard, I pulled her even closer positioning her head to rest on my chest. We're still quite a distance from the tower. I wanted her to just calm down from all the emotional highs of the previous day and today.

Despite the peace and calm I felt dread no one had ever made me feel this way, since I lost my parents I don't think I've had a weakness. I don't know how to feel about Anna. She was fast becoming my weakness, I mean I just stood up to my family for her.

The Chambers of my heart I had long kept locked up to become a cold killer machine, she was unlocking with ease. I let out a deep breath trying to enjoy the moment.

By Noon we had toured quite several places and as much as I wanted to keep spending time with Anna. I couldn't afford to be frolicking around Paris catching feelings I had an underground deal to close.

We were currently en route back to the hotel, Anna's head was currently on my chest while she dozed off in sleep, a position I couldn't deny I was beginning to enjoy too much.

The driver pulls up in front of the hotel, Anna is fast asleep I don't try to wake her I carry her out of the car up to the hotel room ignoring the nosey stares of people.

She doesn't rouse from sleep even when I lay her gently on the bed and raise the covers. Anna mutters some incoherent words in her sleep which make me smile.  I kiss her hair gently and quietly exit the room.

Now outside I pull out my cell phone “ Bruno, get me two of our best guards up here right now ”.

“ Okay boss ” he responds.

In less than two minutes Burno and two hefty-looking men whom I recognize as Ice and Wolf arrive coming out of the elevator.

“ I apologize for wasting time sir ”.

"It's fine ”.

I turn to address the guards sternly “Do not let anyone, anyone at all up on this floor or even come an inch near this room. My wife is sleeping in there and I don't want any inconvenience or interruptions. Is that clear? ”

“ Crystal clear sir ” they unanimously say.

“ Good, Bruno let's go it's time to pay a certain Monterio a visit ”, Bruno smiles darkly in anticipation of the bloodshed to come.

They arrive at the private almost hidden club and immediately entering Lucius sees Mr Monterio seated on a private table in the private section with almost naked beautiful strippers dancing all around him while he sprays money at them.

Some put money in their boobs and other inappropriate places.  “Sir we're surrounded I can see his men hanging all around the place ”.

“ Seems they were expecting us ” Lucius said with a dark, excited smile. I thought about it quickly scanning the environs of the club it had just two floors and just as Bruno had observed there seemed to be men hanging around armed on the lookout for any action.

“ Bruno you can sit this one out if you don't feel up to it, I can feel you slightly shaking ”.

Bruno laughed “ Sir you misunderstand I'm shaking in excitement, it's been a while since we've had this much fun ”.

“ Good,” Lucius said before proceeding to walk towards Monterio's table, whose eyes bulged in panic and fear when he saw Lucius approach him, the strippers noticed too and scurried away like mice.

“ What ….what … to what do I owe this pleasure ” he nervously said. I laughed “You know exactly why we're here do you really think you can double-cross me and live ”.

Now the club is silent, the only sound I heard all around was the sound of guns cocking which excited me this is what I am a stone-cold killer, this is what I live for.

I raised my gun and put it in Mr Monterio's mouth which was shaking like a magpie before he could utter a word of plea I blew his brain out in a loud thud.
