Chapter 90 End Of Us

Chapter 90 End Of Us

On the seventh day, as the afternoon sun filtered through the curtains, Evelyn lay in bed, staring at the ceiling.

The week's isolation had given her time to reflect and heal, but she knew she couldn't stay hidden forever. With a heavy sigh, she decided it was time to rejoin the world, starting with the family who loved her and had been so patient.

She slowly got up, wrapped herself in a robe, and made her way downstairs.

Her family was in the living room, and they looked up in surprise as she entered.

"Evelyn!"

Kylie exclaimed, rushing over to hug her.

"We've missed you."

Her father stood up, his eyes filled with relief.

"How are you feeling, sweetheart?"

Evelyn managed a small smile.

"Better. I'm ready to move forward. Thank you all for being here for me."

Her family gathered around, offering their support and love. Evelyn knew the road ahead wouldn't be easy, but with her family by her side, she felt stronger and more determined than ever.

Evelyn sat in the living room, the warm afternoon light streaming through the windows. She was wrapped in a cozy blanket, sipping tea and trying to distract herself with a book.

Her mind wandered, still processing the events of the past week. Just as she was starting to feel a bit restless, the front door opened, and she heard familiar voices.

"Sia! Jack!"

Evelyn called out, setting her book aside and smiling as her friends entered the room. They had just returned from a trip to Vegas, and their excitement was palpable.

"Evelyn!"

Sia exclaimed, rushing over to give her a hug.

"I've missed you so much! You won't believe the stories we have from Vegas."

Jack followed, his grin wide.

"It was a wild trip. We saw so much and did so many crazy things."

Evelyn's mood lifted as they sat down, eager to hear about their adventures. Sia launched into a lively recounting of their trip, describing the dazzling lights of the Strip, the shows they attended, and the people they met.

"And we even went to this incredible rooftop bar with a view of the entire city,"

Sia said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"It was amazing, Evelyn. You would have loved it."

Evelyn smiled, feeling a sense of joy just from listening to her friends.

"It sounds incredible. I'm so glad you both had a great time."

As the conversation continued, Sia noticed the subtle fatigue in Evelyn's eyes and the faint bruises from her fall.

"Evelyn, are you okay? You seem a bit off."

Evelyn sighed, deciding to share what had happened.

"I had a bit of an incident last week. I fell and ended up in the hospital. It was pretty scary."

Sia's face filled with concern.

"Oh my God, Evelyn! Why didn't you tell us? Are you and the baby okay?"

"We're okay,"

Evelyn reassured her.

"It was just a lot to handle. And... Dominic is back."

Jack, who had been listening quietly, looked guilty.

"Evelyn, there's something I need to tell you. I'm the one who called Dominic back."

Evelyn's eyes widened in surprise.

"You called him? Why?"

Jack took a deep breath.

"I knew you needed him, Evelyn. You were going through so much, and despite everything, I thought having him here would be better for you. I'm sorry if I overstepped."

Evelyn felt a mix of emotions — surprise, of frustration. But as she looked at Jack's earnest expression, she understood his intentions were good.

"Thank you, Jack. I know you were just looking out for me."

Sia nodded, reaching out to hold Evelyn's hand.

"We're here for you, Evelyn. No matter what."

Evelyn smiled, feeling a surge of warmth and support from her friends.

"I appreciate you both so much. I'm glad you're back."

She felt happy that they both were back but the thing that tugged her was that Dominic had found out about her pregnancy and he would come back for his sons but before that she needed to make a decision.

For her self

And for her twins.

Evelyn sat on her bed, staring at her phone for a long moment before finally summoning the courage to send a message to Dylan.

She needed his help, and despite everything, she felt he was the one person who could provide the support she needed.

After a few minutes, she typed out a message and hit send.

Evelyn: Hi Dylan. Can we meet somewhere? I need to talk to you about something important.

Dylan's response was almost immediate.

Dylan: Of course, Evelyn. Name the place and time.

They agreed to meet at a quiet café on the outskirts of the city. Evelyn felt a mixture of anxiety and determination as she prepared for the meeting. She knew what she had to do.

"Ethan,"

she called, finding her brother in the living room.

"I need a favor. Can you drive me somewhere?"

Ethan looked up from his phone, sensing the seriousness in her tone.

"Sure, Ev. Where are we going?"

She hesitated for a moment before replying,

"I'm meeting Dylan. I need to talk to him about something important."

Ethan's eyebrows rose in surprise but he nodded, grabbing his keys.

"Alright. Let's go."

The drive to the café was filled with a heavy silence. Ethan glanced at Evelyn occasionally, sensing her turmoil but choosing to wait until she was ready to talk. They arrived at the café, and Ethan parked the car, turning to his sister.

"I'm coming in with you,"

he said firmly.

"I want to be there for you."

Evelyn nodded, grateful for his support. They walked into the café together, spotting Dylan at a corner table.

He stood up as they approached, his expression curious and concerned.

"Evelyn, Ethan,"

Dylan greeted them.

"What's going on?"

They sat down, and Evelyn took a deep breath before speaking.

"Dylan, I need your help. I want to divorce Dominic, and I know you're one of the few people who can help me make it happen. You're as powerful as he is, and I need someone who can stand up to him."

Dylan's expression shifted to one of understanding and seriousness.

"Evelyn, are you sure about this? Divorce is a big step, especially considering everything you're going through."

Evelyn nodded, her voice steady despite the emotions roiling inside her.

"I've thought about it a lot, and I know this is what I need to do. I can't stay in this marriage any longer."

Ethan placed a reassuring hand on Evelyn's shoulder.

"I'm with you, Ev. Whatever you need, I'll support you."

Dylan looked between them, his expression softening.

"Alright, Evelyn. I'll help you. But I want you to be sure. I don't want you to rush into this without thinking it through."

Evelyn appreciated his concern.

"I've made up my mind, Dylan. This is what I want."

Dylan nodded, his determination matching hers.

"Okay. We'll start by getting all the necessary documents and evidence. I'll make sure you have everything you need to make this as smooth as possible."

Evelyn felt a weight lift off her shoulders, grateful for Dylan's willingness to help. "Thank you, Dylan. I knew I could count on you."

They spent the next hour discussing the details, Ethan chiming in with his support and ideas. By the time they left the café, Evelyn felt more empowered and ready to face the challenge ahead. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but with Dylan and Ethan by her side, she felt confident in her decision to reclaim her life.

She let out a deep sigh as she recalled her words.

“ this was the end “
