Chapter 63 - Lucifer Meets Camelia Again!
**Third Person's POV:
**
Camelia was getting better physically but mentally she wasn’t. She was heartbroken.
"I don't want to eat anymore. I had enough." She said, pushing the tray of the soup away.
"Miss, don't be like this. Your immunity is quite weak right now. You are still recovering and you need a lot of nutrition." A nurse told her.
"I don't think I can eat it. Please, don't press me." Saying, Camelia lay on the bed. Having no alternative, the nurse left with the tray of food.
"What's the use of getting recovered anyway! Hump!" Camelia muttered. Lying on her back, she was staring at the ceiling.
She didn’t know when tears fogged her vision. Slowly tears rolled down from the corners of her both eyes.
"Camelia! How are you-" Laura centered her cabin and stopped talking when she saw tears in Camelia's eyes.
Laura couldn’t understand what to say. It was daily routine so far since Camelia woke up. Whenever she wasn’t doing anything and was awake and alone, all she did was crying.
"Camelia! Please, you need to stop now. If you cry this way, you can't get better soon. You are wearing yourself out." Laura spoke, sitting on the chair beside her bed.
"Laura, I still can't accept that he did this to me. How he could be this cruel to me? I loved him with my everything. What shortcoming did I have in my love? I did everything he asked me to do. I tried my best." Camelia asked her.
"Is my appearance everything? Is it all about outer beauty? He didn’t think twice before trampling my feelings, my love. It still feels so unreal. It feels like it's a bad dream and when I will get up everything will be fine. I will find him beside me, he would comfort me like before-" She wiped her tears.
"Why did fall in love with a person like him? He just valued my outer appearance, but never cared about my heart! I hate him!" She cried.
Laura was confused with the whole thing. She wondered what actually happened between Camelia and Lucifer. Why did he pay her hospital bills? He even had her shifted in the VIP cabin. No matter how much affluent Laura's family was, they couldn’t afford such VIP cabin. Why didn’t he meet her after she woke up?
Or was there another story behind this? Laura wondered. She was shocked as hell when she got to know that Camelia's ex-boyfriend was notorious mafia king Lucifer Martinez.
"Camelia, for God’s sake. Please calm down. Don't cry." Laura tried to comfort her.
"I don't want to cry. But you know tears are just coming out... I think the disease messed up with my lacrimal glands too." Camelia tried to laugh.
"Camelia, would you ever give him a chance, take him back if he comes to you and apologize?" Laura asked.
"Take him back? Who am I to take him back? Didn’t he make it clear that he didn’t need me anymore? If he ever comes back, I will never willingly go with him. He will have to force me to take me with him." Camelia determined.
Laura still hadn’t told her that she knew who her boyfriend was. But she couldn’t help wondering how she met him. How a timid girl like Camelia got into a relationship with a person like Lucifer?
"Camelia, will you mind if I ask you a question?" Laura queried.
"Yes, ask me. I wouldn’t mind. You are my friend, Laura. You can ask me anything." Cemelia said.
"How did you meet your ex-boyfriend?"
"Oh! That's a long and almost unbelievable story." Camelia sighed.
"If you don’t want to say, it's okay." Laura stated.
"No! It's not like that. Actually I used to live in Atlanta with my family. A notorious gangster from Chicago visited Atlanta and saw me. His name was Derek and he was over 50 years old. He abducted me and when my dad tried to stop him, he shot my dad!"
"Haaaa!Oh God!" Laura's eyes widened in horror.
"The authorities, the cops didn’t do anything. Derek abducted me and brought me in Chicago. Later, he forcefully married me. After my marriage, Derek and his son used to torture me every day. I used to pass out every night from their brutal assault, beating. One day, I was kidnapped again from Derek's and do you know who kidnapped me? It was my ex-boyfriend. He kidnapped me mistakenly from the devils and but later he set me free. No matter how much hatred I have for my ex-boyfriend, the fact that he set me free from the devils, I can never forget that. I am forever grateful to him. And now that he broke my heart so painfully and mercilessly, it still doesn’t change that fact. But I hate him." Camelia described.
Laura's jaw was again on the floor when Camelia finished.
"Y-you go through this much in such a young age, Camelia!" Laura said holding Camelia's hands and gave her an assuring squeeze.
"You are the strongest person I have seen ever! Don't be sad. Everything will be fine." Laura added.
Camelia stared at her for a few seconds before saying, "Thank you for not judging me. You are the first person apart from my family, whom I have told this. Honestly Laura, so far you have done so much for me. Your mom, dad... How can I ever repay you? I am forever indebted to you." Camelia stated.
"Don't say like this, Camelia. You are my friend. I don't know if you know me but I can go far for my family and friends. And you are my friend. You don't say thanks or sorry or show gratitude in friendship. If I were in your shoes and asked for your help, I am sure you would have done it too." Laura smiled.
More tears fell from Camelia's eyes.
"Can I hug you?" She asked.
"Why all of a sudden? I mean okay." Laura said.
Camelia sat on the bed and hugged Laura.
"Are you feeling better now?" Laura queried as Camelia broke the hug. Camelia nodded with a small smile.
"Laura, the person fated to you is the luckiest man." Camelia remarked.
"Really? But, I highly doubt it. Still now I am single as fuck! All my previous dates were utter trash." Laura commented contorting her face.
"Laura, maybe you haven’t met the one. But when a man will get to know the real you, he would never let you go." Camelia told her.
A few seconds later, Camelia questioned, "Do you know who my boyfriend is? His name is Lucifer Martinez."
But as Laura already met him, there wasn’t any sign of surprise in her face.
"You aren’t surprised? He is a notorious man." Camelia remarked.
"No. I am not surprised, Camelia. Whoever your boyfriend is, I don't judge people. I didn’t experience any of the painful and horrible things you had to experience; I don't have any idea about your situations, struggles. I still don't know your whole story."
"Laura, whenever I was with him, I felt like he was the one for me. But now see, I am all alone. He broke my heart. Isn't it best that you find the genuine guy first? No matter when love comes, it’s important the person we love is genuine." Camelia interpreted.
"You are right. But Camelia what if I fall for the wrong guy? You can't control whom you love." Laura asked.
"I don't know either, Laura." Camelia responded.
They looked at each other and both sighed.
**Nine days later,**
Today Camelia was about to leave the hospital. She was healthy in every way, just had to take two medicines and apply a lotion for her skin. Her skin almost healed. The traces of the blotches and the blisters weren’t so visible.
As she wasn’t about to return Lucifer's place, she requested Laura to buy a train ticket to Atlanta. She wanted to stay some days there.
No matter what, she couldn’t leave Chicago now. She already was admitted in a university here. She would try to transfer her credits in another University of Atlanta. But it's a time-consuming process. And she decided to take this semester off.
"Laura, can you tell me how much money is spent on? I would repay you." Camelia asked as they were leaving.
"It has been taken care of."
"What do you mean by ‘it has been taken care of’? I stayed in a VIP cabin for 15 days. Before that I was in ICU. I am sure the fees were huge. And moreover the medicines."
Laura couldn’t understand what to say. She didn’t want to lie. But was afraid what Camelia might think, she didn’t want to ruin the friendship.
"Actually, Camelia-" Laura started.
A loud knock interrupted them. They both looked at the door.
And the person who opened the door was no one but Lucifer.
"You!" Camelia exclaimed as her eyes fell on him. He entered the cabin without caring for any permission.
"Miss Laura, will you please excuse us?" Lucifer looked at Laura.
"Sure!" Laura was going out but Camelia grabbed her arm.
"No, Laura. You are not going anywhere. You don't need to take orders from any stranger. We are leaving." Camelia said taking a look at her. Then she glared at Lucifer.
"Miss Laura, please," Lucifer requested.
"No! Laura wouldn’t go anywhere. Just leave! You are not welcome here." Camelia asserted.
Laura couldn’t understand what to do. She looked at Camelia once, and then she looked at Lucifer pleadingly.
"You are giving her a hard time, Camelia. You know that if I want to talk to you, nothing can't stop me. So, don't push her for no reason." Lucifer stated.
Camelia realized that she was venting her anger for Lucifer on Laura and was putting her in a difficult position.
"Laura, can you please wait a few minutes for me?" She asked Laura.
"No problem. Take your time." Saying Laura exited the door.
Camelia and Lucifer stood there face to face.
