Chapter 45: Fury Unleashed
Enzo’s
I growled in frustration, my fist slamming down hard onto my large desk, sending papers and pens flying violently as Moses roared with matching anger inside my head.
The pack’s outrageous ultimatum—step down as Alpha or brutally kill Noah—burned deep in my chest, and I couldn’t hold my rage in any longer. I swept everything off the desk quickly, the loud crash echoing throughout my office, my vision briefly flashing red. Moses was desperately clawing for total control, his furious snarls loud and insistent in my mind. How dare they threaten my mate? How dare they believe they could actually take my title from me?
The door softly creaked open, and Ren quietly walked in, his scarred face calm as always but his eyes sharp with caution. He glanced briefly at the complete mess, then at me. “Are you okay, Alpha?” he asked, his voice low and cautious. “It sincerely looks like you’re tearing this entire place apart right now.”
I collapsed heavily into my chair, closing my eyes tightly, trying hard to simply breathe through the searing rage. Moses was still growling aggressively, but I forced him back down, my hands physically shaking. I opened my eyes, meeting Ren’s calm gaze. “Noah,” I said, my voice rough and strained. “How is he doing right now? Is he completely safe where he is?”
Ren nodded once, leaning against the nearest wall casually. “He’s fine for now,” he said reassuringly. “He’s still safely at his friend’s place—James, the kid with the glasses. I’ve got guys actively watching the house, so don’t worry about him. Noah is heavily guarded. No one is getting to him at all.”
I pulled out a cigarette, lighting it instantly with a quick flick of the lighter, the smoke curling slowly as I stood up and walked over to the large window. The pack’s immense betrayal, Dean’s aggressive threats, Eric’s violent attack—it was all relentlessly closing in on me now. I took a long drag from the cigarette, my eyes narrowing dangerously, and turned back to face Ren. “Keep close eyes on Noah at all times,” I said, my voice hard and demanding. “I don’t trust Dean at all. He’s definitely planning something big, and I urgently want to know every single move he makes. If anything happens at all, you report it instantly to me. Do you understand?”
Ren nodded firmly, his voice steady. “I understand completely, Alpha,” he said. “I’ll personally make sure Noah is safe. But what about the pack’s deadline? They officially gave you one day to decide—step down or kill Noah. What exactly is your current plan?”
I laughed, the sound cold and sharp, taking another long drag from the cigarette. “The pack?” I said, my voice instantly dripping with deep scorn. “They’re simply fools, Ren. They truly think they can pull me down, take Noah away from me like this? They have absolutely no actual power here. My father personally made me Alpha, and I’m definitely not stepping down for anyone in this room.”
Ren stepped closer to me, his voice low and cautious. “They’re deeply scared, Enzo,” he said. “Noah being an actual Vengas—it has them truly spooked. They honestly think he’s incredibly dangerous, just like Stan’s current situation supposedly proves it. What exactly are you going to do about all of them?”
I smirked slowly, blowing out a cloud of smoke, my eyes glinting menacingly. “I don’t have to do anything at all,” I said with finality. “I’m the Alpha, their leader. They’ll eventually fall in line and obey me, or they’ll deeply regret their actions. Let them play their ridiculous little games for now. I’m simply waiting to see how this all brutally ends.”
Ren frowned deeply, his voice cautious and worried. “And what about Dean?” he said quietly. “He’s absolutely not backing down on his threat. He’s relentlessly blaming Noah for Stan’s condition. Do you honestly think he’s going to make a physical move against him soon?”
“Let him try it now,” I said, my voice dangerously low, my eyes instantly flashing bright red. “If Dean even touches Noah, he’s a dead wolf walking. Brother or not, I’ll personally end him quickly.”
Ren nodded once, immediately stepping back to the door. “I’ll keep a close watch on everything,” he said. “If you desperately need me for any reason, I’m right here waiting.”
I turned back to face the window, my cigarette burning down low, my mind racing through possible plans. Noah was safely guarded for now, but Dean and the pack were clearly not my only serious problem. Eric was still out there somewhere, the rogue wolf who dared to lay violent hands on my chosen mate. I crushed the cigarette in the tray, my final decision instantly made. I was immediately going to his territory to find him.
…
I stormed aggressively into the rogue camp, the air instantly filled with the harsh scent of unwashed, aggressive wolves, their eyes glaring fiercely at me as if I was merely their prey. They growled low and warningly, but I didn’t flinch at all, my heavy boots crunching loudly on the loose dirt as I headed straight toward Eric’s hideout. He was there waiting, lounging casually against an old crate, his wide smirk appearing instantly when he saw me enter. “Well, damn,” he said mockingly, laughing softly. “The Alpha himself, recklessly walking right into my turf all alone. Have you got a sudden death wish, Enzo?”
I moved incredibly fast, grabbing his throat instantly, aggressively pinning him to the stone wall, the hard concrete audibly cracking under the extreme force of my power. “You have some serious nerve to show your face,” I growled, my eyes glowing bright red in fury, Moses loudly snarling violently in my head. “You overtly laid hands on my mate, Eric. You seriously think you can touch Noah and simply walk away from me without consequences?”
Eric laughed, his voice coming out raspy and defiant, his eyes glinting darkly. “You have huge balls coming here all alone,” he said. “What, you seriously think you can scare me with your Alpha growls? You’re clearly not the only one here with immense power, Alpha.”
I tightened my grip instantly on his throat, my voice low and lethally dangerous. “Death?” I said, chuckling darkly. “That’s just another name I carry for my enemies. You honestly think you can take me down, rogue? Try it right now.”
His guards instantly stepped forward aggressively, their growls loud and warning, their eyes glowing red in challenge. One of them, a big, bulky guy with a visible scar across his face, loudly spoke up. “Back off immediately, Alpha,” he said, his voice rough and threatening. “You’re clearly heavily outnumbered here. Do you really wanna die right here and now in our camp?”
I laughed loudly, shoving Eric harder against the wall, my eyes sweeping quickly across the entire room of wolves. “Outnumbered?” I said, my voice mocking their weakness. “You truly think your pack of pathetic mutts can actually stop me from leaving? You’re lucky I’m currently in a somewhat good mood, Eric. Next time you dare come after Noah, I’ll personally kill you instantly. You will get absolutely no mercy from me then.”
Eric smirked confidently, his voice calm despite my crushing grip. “Big words you boast,” he said slowly. “But your mate’s a Vengas, Enzo. He’s a terrifying walking threat to all of us. You honestly think I’m the only one who desperately wants him dead? Your own pathetic pack is already turning violently on you for keeping him.”
I growled again, violently slamming him against the wall one more time. “You don’t get permission to talk about Noah like that,” I said, my voice shaking severely with rage. “You touch him ever again, and I’ll personally rip your throat out of your body. That is my final, sacred promise to you, rogue.”
One of Eric’s guards nervously stepped closer, his voice low and pleading. “You’re making a huge mistake now, Alpha,” he said. “You truly can’t protect that dangerous Vengas forever from everyone. The pack, your own brother—they’re all ruthlessly coming for him soon.”
“Let them all try to come for him,” I said, my eyes blazing with fierce protectiveness. “Noah’s mine and only mine. Anyone who comes for him will personally answer directly to me now.”
I let Eric go suddenly, stepping back slowly, my heart pounding hard in my chest. He straightened himself quickly, his malicious smirk still clearly in place. “You’re deeply digging your own grave right now, Alpha,” he said warningly. “But go ahead, protect your little Vengas mate. We’ll all see who is left standing tall in the end.”
I turned instantly, walking quickly out of the rogue camp, their deadly, hateful stares burning intensely into my back. I didn’t care about their hate. Noah was my mate, and I’d personally fight the whole world to keep him completely safe and alive.
