The Game of Dark Desire;
The Game of Dark Desire;
The elevator doors slid open on the upper floor. The atmosphere was immediately different darker, more exclusive, more dangerous. Dim lights hung from the ceiling, casting long shadows across the marble floor, while deep bass tones echoed through the walls, vibrating in the chest.
The man gently took Arzu’s hand, guiding her out of the elevator with a refined elegance. His touch carried both strength and courtesy, a balance that made her feel unexpectedly safe.
“I suppose this is where our journey ends,” he said softly. Then, lifting her hand, he brushed his lips across it. “I hope you find what you’re looking for, sexy butterfly.”
Arzu felt a wave of gratitude. His courtesy struck her deeply, so different from the coldness and violence she had grown accustomed to. “Thank you. I owe you,” she admitted sincerely.
But guilt followed quickly. She remembered the rules: personal information was forbidden. And yet, she couldn’t help herself. What he had done for her wasn’t ordinary. After a moment’s hesitation, she leaned closer, her lips brushing lightly against his earlobe as she whispered:
“I’m actually a lawyer. And a good one, too. My name is Arzu Bayrak. If you ever need me, find me. Thank you again…”
The man smiled, amused and pleased by her boldness. He could still feel the warmth of her lips lingering on his skin.
“You’re very kind. I won’t forget your name,” he replied before slipping away into the crowd.
But from the shadows, Ateş had seen everything. His jaw tightened, teeth grinding as jealousy twisted inside him. The thought of Arzu’s lips touching another man drove him mad. He desired her, obsessed over her, and the idea that she might belong to someone else fed the fire in his veins.
Arzu tried to steady her heartbeat. She needed to focus. Her true goal tonight was Ateş Yamanoğlu. She headed for the bar, ordered a drink, and let the cool taste calm her lips. That’s when she noticed İşıl.
Dressed in a daring gown with crimson lips gleaming under the dim lights, İşıl moved straight toward Ateş’s private lounge. She bowed gracefully before him, biting her lip with a seductive smile.
“I wish to please you, sir. Would you spend a little time with me before retreating to your room?”
İşıl had been waiting for this moment. She had studied Ateş’s jealous stares at Arzu like a predator studying prey. Now was her only chance the one moment when his emotions might override his control.
Normally, Ateş wouldn’t spare İşıl a glance. But his mind was haunted by a single image: Arzu’s lips brushing another man’s ear. The thought seared into him like fire. With a sudden surge of fury, he grabbed İşıl by the arm and pulled her onto his lap. İşıl was startled at first, then quickly masked it with a victorious smile.
Ateş crushed his lips against hers. It was no kiss it was punishment, vengeance, a savage display of dominance. All the rage he couldn’t release on Arzu, he poured into İşıl’s lips instead.
Arzu’s breath caught. Pain stabbed through her chest as she watched. She froze, torn between staying and running, until finally she fled to the balcony.
The night air cooled her burning lungs as she tried to steady herself. “What was that? Did I just lose?” she thought. İşıl had played her move brilliantly.
But then Arzu remembered: that night, in the Red Room, Ateş had respected her choice. He hadn’t taken her. He had only played with her fears, with her desires. If he was kissing İşıl now, it had to be the same it was a move, a provocation.
She lingered on the balcony a few more minutes, then an announcement echoed inside:
“All players, please return to the hall.”
Arzu straightened her back, drew a deep breath, and stepped inside once more. She wasn’t going to give up not this easily.
When Arzu stepped back from the balcony, the room had already fallen silent. In the dim glow of chandeliers, all eyes were fixed on the stage where a man in a perfectly tailored black suit stood tall. His presence was magnetic less a host and more a high priest presiding over some forbidden ritual. A faint, knowing smile curved his lips.
“Ladies and gentlemen…” his voice echoed across the room, low and commanding. “It is time for the next stage: Dark Desire.”
A murmur rippled through the crowd. Some shifted in their seats, eager; others exchanged wary glances. Arzu’s heart skipped. What exactly did that mean?
The host raised a hand, silencing the whispers, and began to explain.
“Participants will now enter a specially designed chamber built like a labyrinth. Once inside, you will be plunged into complete darkness. Your eyes will be blindfolded. You will move only by the guidance of your hands, your instincts, and perhaps… your temptations. Hidden within are three sacred objects: The Key of Fire, The Mirror of Desire, and The Forbidden Touch. Each of you must secure one. Only then will you advance to the next stage.”
The word allure lingered in the air like smoke. A few women chuckled darkly, men exchanged hungry looks. The tension was thick, electric.
The host’s tone sharpened.
“Why only three objects? Because there are three kings watching among you tonight men of the highest rank. Each object belongs to one of them. By seizing an object, you claim the right to be seen, judged, and perhaps chosen by its king.”
Gasps spread through the hall. The stakes had just multiplied.
The host’s smile deepened, his eyes glittering.
“Know this while you wander in darkness, the kings will be watching. Your steps, your choices, your victories… all will be weighed. At the end, you will not only leave with an object you will stand before a king. And he will decide if you are worthy.”
A flicker of realization shot through Arzu. Her pulse raced. If she succeeded, Ateş might be the one to claim her. But what if it wasn’t him? What if another king chose her instead? The thought carved doubt into her chest. Did she even dare take that risk?
Her gaze swept the room, and for a brief moment, she met Ateş’s eyes. His mask hid most of his face, but she saw the shadow of his smile, hungry, dangerous. He leaned back, muttering just loud enough for himself:
“Let’s see what you’re made of, little sparrow.”
Arzu inhaled sharply. Fear, thrill, and desire tangled inside her. But there was no turning back.
The host’s voice rang out again, final and sharp:
“Throughout the maze, you will encounter others. To move forward, you must defeat them. You may use reason to outsmart them… or seduction to overpower them. But beware every choice carries a consequence. One wrong move, and you will be eliminated.”
A hush fell. The game was not just physical; it was psychological, primal.
The host outlined the three layers of the labyrinth once more:
The first held The Key of Fire, hidden within a locked chamber.
The second guarded The Mirror of Desire, surrounded by a hall of reflections.
The third and final prize was The Forbidden Touch to claim it, one had to take a mark directly from the skin of another player.
Arzu stiffened. To touch another… to be touched. A shiver raced down her spine. Was this the trap? Was Ateş watching her, waiting to see how far she would go?
The host’s smile widened.
“In Dark Desire, every victory demands a sacrifice. Only one object can be yours and only one king may claim you. The rest will be left… to watch.”
The room plunged into darkness. A single crimson light pulsed over the entrance. One by one, players were led forward by masked attendants, their eyes blindfolded, their steps swallowed by the silence.
Arzu’s turn came. She breathed in sharply, her heart thundering. She could still feel Ateş’s gaze burning against her skin. And she had caught İşıl’s mocking smile just moments ago. This was no longer just a game it was war.
A strip of silk slid over her eyes, tying her into darkness. A firm hand guided her to the door. When it opened, a cold draft brushed against her cheeks. From within came faint echoes, footsteps, whispers, maybe even laughter.
She stepped inside.
The air was thick with the scent of incense and something sharper, metallic. The silence was broken only by her own breathing, rapid and shallow. Every sense sharpened in the absence of sight.
And then, the door slammed shut behind her.
The labyrinth of Dark Desire had claimed its players.
