Chapter 23

Westley's POV

I looked her up and down, her eyes were baggy and her face was burning.

She turned away from me quickly and held her head over the toilet, I grabbed her hair and held it back for her.

I ran a hand over my face as she leaned backwards against the wall, she looked exhausted.

"I don't know what's going on with me." she said her voice cracking.

I clenched my jaw shut and looked at her blankly.

I leaned backwards against the sink, keeping my eyes locked on her sickly face.

She jolted up again and leaned over the toilet and hurled.

I turned away at the sight and covered my mouth, as my heart rate sped up.

I stood up and grabbed a small towel out of a cabinet over the sink and wet it than handed it to her.

"We should get you home" I said helping her up, a knock came at the bathroom door as my mom slowly opened it up.

"Is everything-oh Luna, darling are you alright?" she asked her face looked worrisome.

Tessa slowly nodded

"I think I just have a stomach bug" she said brushing her hair out of her face.

"I'm taking her home" I said looking at my mom, she nodded

"Okay, oh Luna I really hope you feel better. I'm so sorry."

"It's fine, it'll pass"

I grabbed Luna's coat and slipped it on over her shoulders as we headed back out toward my car and got in.

"Just rest, baby" I said as I rubbed her cheek with my right hand and then started the car.

"It's fine, it'll pass"

She slept on our way to her apartment. Once upstairs and outside of her door she unlocked it and we walked in.

"They must be out" she said.

I helped her to her room, she lay down in her bed and pulled the covers up to her chin.

I stood over her and she shut her eyes,

"Do you want me to get you something?" I asked sitting on the edge of the bed now.

"Could you get me some Advil and tea?" she asked sounding tired, I nodded.

After a few minutes I figured out how to work her coffee and tea machine and poured her some hot green tea with honey into a coffee mug.

She slowly sat up and took a swing as she downed the Advil and set her head back against her pillow.

I stood up when she grabbed my wrist

"Will you..stay with me?" she asked.

I nodded and took off my coat and shoes as I climbed into the bed next to her, wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her into my chest.

I awoke and looked at the time on my phone, it said 6:30 p.m. my eyes grew wide as I turned to my right to see West peacefully asleep, his arms around my waist.

I couldn't help but smile. I slowly adjusted my body to face the opposite direction, as I did, his eyes slowly opened and looked at me.

"Hi" he said giving me a tired grin, I smiled back

"Hi"

"You're awake" he said letting go of my waist and slowly sitting upright in my blanket covered bed.

I nodded and sat up as well. "How are you feeling?" he asked rubbing his hands over his face "I actually feel a lot better. It's weird." I said refering to how sick I had felt previously.

He nodded

"I'm going to ask you a question and you need answer truthfully, okay?"

I stared at him "Okay.."

"Do you think you're pregnant?" he said his eyes serious but alarmed. I busted out laughing in response to his question.

A frown appeared on his face. "I'm sorry-I'm sorry, no I am not." I said as I flicked my eyes across the room at a birth control box.

Nick took a deep breath and a huge sigh of relief.

Then a knock came at my bedroom door

"Luna, are you-oh god! I'm so sorry, I didn't-I'm leaving-I" Kirsten said adverting her eyes away from the two of us as she quickly shut the door.

Nick and I looked at each other and started laughing.

"C'mon let's go" he said motioning to the door.

We walked down the hall and into my living room when my mouth dropped open.

Next to my mom, aunt Jen, and Kirsten stood two men.

The first was tall, a bit taller than me and had graying hair and kind brown eyes, he was bigger boned and had a nice smile

"Dad!" I yelled out as I ran over to him and flung my arms around his waist.

"Hey firefly!" he said squeezing me in a warm embrace.

I looked over his shoulder at the rest of my family as they smiled.

Next to him stood another guy, he was tall, had deep blue eyes, and dark hair, a nice bright smile and slight facial hair.

"Oh my gosh! Drew!" I said my mouth falling open in shock. He extended his arms out and pulled me into a warm hug.

He hugged me tightly and then let go

"Wow, Luna! You look-incredible!" he said sounding speechless.

He hugged me tightly and then let go

"Wow, Luna! You look-incredible!" he said sounding speechless.

I blushed

"Thank you, you don't look half bad yourself."

He chuckled

"Why thank you" his gaze then fixated on someone behind me.

"You must be-West? Right?" Drew said extending his hand out for Nick to shake.

He stood there for a second before pulling his hand out of his pants pocket and shaking Drew's hand firmly.

"Yes, I'm sorry I don't believe we've met?" he said moving his right hand through his hair.

"Oh right, my apologizes. Andrew Dobson. I'm an old friend of Luna's" he said looking at me, a warm look in his eyes.

I watched as the two of them reacted towards one an other.

"Actually, we were at one point more than friends, but that's the past." Drew said giving me a sly grin.

"Right"

"I thought the two of you were going to visit West's family for the evening?" asked my mom

"I-uh, got sick. He brought me home."

"Oh honey, how are you feeling?" she said examining my face, just like she had when I was a little girl.

"I'm fine mom, I think it just might have been something I ate. Drew, how did you know about West?" I asked getting his attention.

"Oh, your father told me." I looked straight passed him

"Did mom tell you?"

"Guilty is charged" said my mother, I groaned slightly and bit my bottom lip.

"How'd you all like to go get some dinner?" asked my mom breaking the momentary silence.

Everyone raised their hands and began for the front door.

Drew spoke to Jen and Katerina, a smile on his handsome face.

We all began down the hall and got onto the elevator, I felt Nick grab my hand and squeeze it as I looked up at him.

He looked straight ahead the whole time until we reached the parking garage.

My mom, aunt, and sister all drove together.

As my dad, Drew and West drove with me.

Nick sat in the passenger side of my jeep, while the other two sat in the back.

"So Luna, how's the city been treating you?" asked my dad, it was comforting to hear his voice, I didn't get the chance to visit my family back home much.

"Real well"

"Good to hear, the jobs going well?"

"Yep"

As we stopped at a red light I looked out of the corner of my eye at West who's gaze was fixated on the traffic in front of us.

He was acting weird.

Shortly after, we all got to the hibachi restaurant and went inside.

"How many?" the hostess asked

"Seven"

"Okay, it'll be just a minute" the hostess said as she hurried off to find seating no doubt.

"So West, tell me. What's it like to work for a company Johnson and sons Co.?" asked Drew staring directly at me.

"It's been nice, I enjoy my job. I enjoy the people I work with as well."

"Well good, that's good."

"Right this way, please" said the hostess as she grabbed seven menus and walked through the restaurant.
