Chapter 183

Chapter 183
Sophia‘s POV:
My hands trembled as I held the glowing blue pill between my fingers.
The silver light emanating from it seemed to pulse with its own heartbeat. Kevin's words echoed in my mind - remember to open it when your loved one is in danger.
My heart hammered against my ribs. This was my final opportunity to save my baby. Without another moment's hesitation, I brought the pill to my lips.
The moment it touched my mouth, something extraordinary happened. The blue pill dissolved instantly into a stream of silvery mist, flowing into me like liquid moonlight.
The mystical smoke spread through my system, and I could feel its power coursing through my veins like liquid fire.
"Stay strong," I told myself as the magical essence settled within me. "It will be over soon."
Then, suddenly, Amy's voice exploded in my mind.
"Sophia!" Amy screamed, her voice filled with wonder and disbelief. "Something's happening!"
That's when I felt it.
A tiny flutter. So subtle I almost missed it, but unmistakably real.
I felt the presence of life in my belly once again.
Tears sprang to my eyes as joy crashed over me like a tsunami.
"Check again!" I called out frantically, my voice breaking with emotion as I looked toward the doctor beside me. "Please, check the baby again!"
Michael and Ryder rushed to my side immediately, their faces etched with concern and hope.
"Princess Sophia, what are you feeling?" the doctor asked urgently, already reaching for his specialized wolf stethoscope.
"Life," I gasped, my hand pressed protectively over my stomach. "I can feel life again!"
He pressed the stethoscope to my abdomen, his experienced ears listening intently. His eyes widened progressively, then filled with complete amazement.
"Moon Goddess's miracle!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with awe and disbelief. "The pup's life signs... they're strengthening."
He immediately sent out a call to other wolf medical personnel. "Emergency treatment protocol, now! The pup is alive and responding!"
The room erupted in controlled chaos as medical staff rushed in with equipment and supplies. I could hear their urgent voices discussing treatment options and monitoring protocols, but the sounds seemed to grow distant and muffled.
My eyelids grew impossibly heavy, and despite my efforts to stay conscious, the world around me faded to black as I slipped into complete unconsciousness.
---
Consciousness returned slowly, like surfacing from deep water.
The first thing I noticed was the soft beeping of monitors around me, then the clean scent of antiseptic mixed with the smell of medicine.
I was lying in a comfortable bed in the medical center, surrounded by state-of-the-art equipment designed specifically for werewolf physiology.
A warm hand was holding mine.
"Michael?" I whispered, my voice hoarse.
His blue eyes immediately focused on me, relief flooding his handsome features.
"Thank the Moon Goddess you're awake," he said softly, bringing my hand to his lips and pressing a gentle kiss to my knuckles.
"The baby?" I asked frantically, trying to sit up.
"Safe," Michael assured me, his voice firm and certain. "Our child is safe."
I froze. "Our child?"
The words hit me like a shock wave.
"Michael," I began hesitantly, "you don't have to—"
"Yes, I do," he interrupted, his blue eyes blazing with determination.
He leaned forward slightly, his voice becoming more earnest. "Would you give me the chance to be this baby's father? "
I stared at him in wonder, searching his face for any trace of doubt or resentment. All I found was unwavering love and acceptance.
A small voice in the back of my mind questioned whether Michael could truly be a good father to a child carrying Lucas's bloodline. Could he really love and raise this baby without resentment or favoritism when he had his own children someday?
"Michael," I whispered, my voice filled with disbelief, "don't you mind that this is Lucas's child? Doesn't it bother you that you'd be raising another man's baby?"
Michael shook his head without hesitation, his golden eyes never wavering from mine. "Not at all," he said firmly. "There's an old saying - when you love someone, you love everything connected to them. This child is part of you, Sophia. How could I not love something that's a piece of the woman I adore?"
His hand gently covered mine. "Blood doesn't make a father - love does."
"He's right," Amy whispered softly in my mind. "This man understands what true fatherhood means."
His words struck me deeply, and I couldn't help but think of Lucas and James. James had been Lucas's biological father, yet he had manipulated, betrayed, and ultimately caused so much pain for his own son. Blood connection meant nothing when there was no love or loyalty behind it.
"Michael," I said, my voice thick with tears, "Why are you so good to me? "
I looked down at our joined hands, unable to meet his eyes. "I've been so cruel to you. I rejected you, chose Lucas over you, told you I'd never give you a chance. I hurt you so badly."
My voice broke as the guilt crashed over me. "You were in a coma because of the mission you took for my project, and I didn't even know. You almost died, and when you woke up, I still chose him. How can you forgive me? "
I finally looked up at him, tears streaming down my face. "What did I ever do to deserve such unconditional love from you?"
Michael's thumb gently wiped away my tears, his touch infinitely tender. "Sophia," he said softly, his voice filled with such warmth that it made my heart ache, "you don't have to do anything to deserve my love."
His blue eyes held mine with absolute sincerity. "You could just stand there, and I would love you."
He brought my hand to his chest, pressing it against his steadily beating heart. "This isn't about what you've done or haven't done."
