Chapter Fourteen

Finally getting out of the mountains a large dragon flew overhead covering the sky forcing us to look up out of curiosity, this one had many shades of blue and jagged scales, almost looking embellished flying over the mountains.

"How many dragons are there?" I questioned in awe.

"Thousands, millions, I can't really say," Merlin answered watching the dragon go by.

"They look so intriguing," I said in a daze.

  "They are pretty," Ariel admitted.

"Beautiful yet Dangerous," Aemeon said nodding.

"There has been many attacks this generation, hasn't there?" Merlin agreed.

"Yeah, I heard there was a fire dragon that attacked a village and burned it down to ash, there's a rumour that she came back from the ashes of her mother, they call her the Phoenix," Aemeon announced.

"Ah, yes Ashley, that happened eighteen years ago," Merlin said knowingly.

"Wait, you knew her?" Aemeon asked.

"Many years ago I had, fiery red hair and bright emerald green eyes, there's no forgetting that one," Merlin spoke.

We continued walking down the never-ending path, it seemed to go on for miles as we talked about the elven kingdom; 'Ecrora'. About how the king became more strict and our assumptions about why.

the days seem to go into nights very quickly, and the nights seem to stretch for hours, and when the sunlight comes up I always go back to random memories or 'dreams' I guess I'll call them. I become a different person and I lose track for a certain amount of time losing memories once again, it seems to happen more frequent now.

We decided to take a break, Merlin began a fire and Aemeon helped collect firewood cutting down actual trees with his axe. I looked up at the stars thinking out loud.

"I wonder why the sun is called the sun, yet we call these one's stars," I spoke in wonder.

"We used to call the sun the morning star," Merlin informed.

I felt another 'dream' pulling me back I tried to fight it off but my eyes rolled back.

The man in white was in front of me again, this time calm. "The meaning of your name," He paused taking a sigh and continued. "It means morning star, Lucifer, although I'm curious about why you are so wonderous these days," The man spoke.

The eyes I was looking through shrugged it off, "I just don't understand why you'd name me off of a bright light in some human word, it's insulting." I guess 'I' said angerly.

"I named you that because I have high regard for you," The man said.

  And the 'Dream' ended.

"You seem to pass out randomly these days," Ariel acknowledged.

I had a serious headache and the 'dream' I just had didn't make any sense. I grunted back at Ariel and turned away facing my back toward her. Not only that but does she not realize I'm the one going through it, of course I know I have been randomly passing out. It's not like I can control it.

I heard whispering from far away I regrettably looked over toward Merlin and Aemeon speaking about having to go through a troll village before Ecrora. Aemeon didn't look very pleased about this and they were aggressively speaking.

The sun hit my eyes forcing them back closed making me groan with pain, everything looked like it was a different colour and it was making me feel nauseous and dizzy. Attempting to get into a sitting position I got sick bringing up the contents in my stomach, I didn't realize just how weak my stomach was, or maybe I was getting sick, which none of us can afford right now.

Ariel quickly went by my side helping me turn over making sure I wouldn't fall over every movement I felt more and more nauseous, I pushed Ariel off me at this time I started coughing up blood now, pain erupted in my chest and stomach and I gasped for air and I collapsed.

Pulling my knees to my chest I started crying from the pain it hurt so bad I just wanted to die.

"Are you sure," A voice in my head asked.

  I breathed raspingly.

"I can make all your pain and suffering go away,"  The voice said, I was ready to comply to the voice and let it take me.

I coughed more, as Merlin rushing toward me as he placed his hand on my head, my body began convulsing and the pain quickly faded, the voice also stopped speaking.

Taking in as much air as I could, I suddenly felt a great sense of relief leaning into merlin continuing with tears down my face. I felt a hand rub my back soothingly as I felt angry, hurt, and confused without a reason.

"What the hell is happening to me?" I asked looking up at Merlin painfully.

Merlin shook his head aghast at what we all just witnessed, the thing is no one knows what's happening.

Ariel stood away from me with tears in her eyes, I know she was only trying to help, but it made things worse.

"I don't know," Merlin finally said. "I had never seen anything like that before," Merlin admitted slowly.

Aemeon just stood there, silently and unmoving. Thinking maybe? He suddenly shook out of it.

"I'm not sure what's going on, but that was horrifying to watch," Aemeon finally said.

  "I-I'm sorry," Ariel said upset.

"It's not your fault, Ariel I know you were just trying to help, I was just in a lot of pain," I said in a raspy tone.

She kept quiet, looking down at her feet. I slowly got up to go to her but instead, I tripped and fell into her arms.

”Sorry, I lost my footing.” I say.

Ariel helping me stand, we continued walking down the road as we see a village in the far distance, the huts were made of stone with a large wooden fence around it.

"Is that where we are going?" I asked pointing out to the village.

"Yes," Aemeon replied in a monotone.
