Chapter 182 Lilian Baker
Chapter 182 Lilian Baker
Last night didn't go as planned, but I made plans for the next day and I promised myself to adhere to every single one of them.
By the time I got to school, I had already decided that I was going to have a normal day.
What was my definition of normal?
No drama.
No arguments.
No unnecessary explanations.
Just classes, lunch, and going home.
It was a simple plan even if nothing in my life had been simple lately.
I was walking down the hallway with Kim and Pat when I noticed something was different.
People were staring.
Again.
At first, I tried to ignore it. I had become almost used to people whispering whenever I walked past. Ever since the blog had posted about me and Anna, my name seemed to have become everyone's favourite topic.
But this time, the whispers sounded different. It sounded more exciting and more deliberate.
Kim noticed it too.
"Why is everyone looking at us?" she asked.
Pat shrugged. "Probably another rumor."
I groaned.
Getting involved in another rumor was the last thing I wanted.
What happened to no drama day?
"What kind of rumor?" Kim asked.
“Whatever kind of rumor," Pat answered.
I didn't really pay much attention to them because I was really praying that whatever rumor they were talking about should just be a rumor itself.
We continued walking.
Then someone nearby whispered my name.
I stopped.
Kim looked at me.
"What?"
"I don't know."
Pat pulled out her phone. "Wait. There's only one way to find out."
For a few seconds, she stared at the screen as her finger scrolled on it.
Suddenly, her expression changed.
"What the actual hell?" she mumbled.
Kim immediately leaned closer.
"What is it?"
Pat didn't answer. She simply turned the phone toward us.
I looked at the screen and my stomach dropped.
The blog posted again.
I didn't even need to open it to know I was going to hate it.
"No."
Kim looked at me.
"Lily..."
"No."
I shook my head.
"I don't want to see it."
Pat gave me a sympathetic look.
"You probably should."
I stared at her.
"Why?"
"Because this one is about you."
I laughed bitterly. "When isn't it?"
Since I stepped into this school, it has always been about me.
Pat tapped on her screen once and opened the post.
Kim stood beside me as I leaned closer before I started reading.
The first few lines were about camp… about the night I kissed Andrew.
But this time, the writer wasn't being vague. There were no mysterious hints…no careful wording… no attempt to hide what they were talking about.
They went straight for it, giving details about how I seduced two gentlemen.
My heart began beating faster as I kept reading.
Then I saw the names or rather, the titles.
Mr. Walker.
And Lewis Walker.
I stopped breathing for a second.
Kim looked at me and whispered, “Lily?"
I didn't answer.
I kept reading.
The post was saying that I had been involved with two brothers.
Two Walker brothers.
It said that I was dating both of them at the same time.
My face became hot.
"What the hell?" Those words came out as a whisper.
"Let me see."
Pat grabbed the phone and read it again.
"This is insane," she said.
Kim's mouth was slightly opened but words didn't make it out of her.
I couldn't speak either. I just stared at the screen.
What was I supposed to say?
Two brothers?
Me?
Andrew?
Lewis?
Dating both of them?
My mind immediately went back to camp… to the first picture the person posted.
The last time, the person didn't mention names. But now, the blog was specific. Whoever was behind the blog knew a lot about that night.
But a number of people were outside. Students from different schools were there that night.
What exactly was I missing here?
Kim touched my arm.
"Lily?"
I looked at her.
"Yeah?"
"Are you okay?"
I nodded automatically.
"I'm fine."
Fine?
I wasn't fine. I wasn't even close to the definition of fine.
How would I be fine when my name was attached to the greatest scandal of all time?
I read the post again and again, hoping that something might change. But the same words were still there.
Mr. Walker.
I stared at that particular phrase.
Something didn't feel right.
I had heard people call Andrew different things.
Andrew.
Sir.
Coach.
But there was only one person who consistently called him Mr. Walker. One person who used that name in a way that wasn't casual. One person who knew exactly how to address him with that particular name.
And suddenly, a thought entered my mind.
Pat noticed. "What is it?"
I didn't answer.
"Lily?"
I looked up slowly.
"I know."
Kim frowned. "Know what?"
"Who it is."
Pat's expression changed.
"The blogger?"
I nodded.
My heart was pounding.
"You know who runs the blog?"
"I don't know."
Pat stared at me.
"You just said you know."
"I know who could have written this."
Kim looked confused.
"Who?"
I didn't answer because saying the name out loud would make the suspicion real and I wasn't ready for that.
I looked back at the screen.
The post mentioned camp. It mentioned Andrew. It mentioned Lewis. It mentioned me. But most importantly, it called Andrew Mr. Walker.
That wasn't something everyone did. That wasn't the name someone would randomly choose. And the more I thought about it, the more obvious it became.
The blog wasn't guessing anymore.
Someone was feeding it information. Someone who knew what had happened. Someone who knew about Andrew and I well enough. Someone who saw enough to connect everything.
I looked at Kim, then Pat. Neither of them understood what was going through my mind.
"What's wrong?" Kim asked.
I swallowed.
"Nothing."
"You're lying."
"I know."
Pat stared at me.
"Then tell us."
I looked at the screen one last time.
The accusation was still there. The comments were already multiplying. People were already talking.
And somewhere behind all of this was someone who knew far more than they should. Someone who had been close to me. Someone who had been there when everything had happened.
I tightened my grip around the phone.
I didn't know the blogger's name. I didn't have proof. I didn't even know how I would prove it. But I knew one thing.
Only one person called Andrew Mr. Walker like that.
And I knew exactly who that person was.
I looked at Kim and Pat.
They were waiting for me to spill everything going on in my head.
I lowered my voice and said, "I know who is behind this."
