Chapter 115 Going Home
Catherine collapsed onto the bed, feeling weak all over, while Manuel started smoking beside her.
Catherine looked up at him, her tone cautious and probing, "Well, we've already done it. You can't just back out after making love. You promised me earlier that you'd help some of my classmates find jobs. Have you thought about it?"
Manuel glanced at her with lowered eyes. "Based on your performance just now, if I were a first-time customer, I might have complained about you."
Catherine was stunned.
Why did that sound so strange?
But it wasn't her fault. Catherine felt a bit aggrieved. After all, she had indeed tried her best just now.
With her previously conservative and shy nature, being able to sit on Manuel's lap had already exhausted her sense of shame. And they had made love. Thinking about it now, Catherine felt so embarrassed that she wanted to cover her face.
Quickly, Catherine reacted and grabbed Manuel's hand again, her voice carrying a hint of coquettishness, "So, can you help with that matter or not?"
For the sake of her classmates' graduation rates, she was willing to go all out!
Manuel glanced at her, "Based on your performance today, what score do you think you deserve?"
Catherine bit her lip. She had already gone all out, and despite her blushing, she reached out to touch Manuel's dick, "I think I can try a bit harder."
Manuel had only intended to tease her.
He didn't expect her to be so direct, and he gasped, feeling a tingling sensation.
He glared at her, "You should have shown this enthusiasm earlier. We'll talk about it next time."
After fooling around, he was tired and just wanted to rest.
Catherine reluctantly withdrew.
She was still anxious, wondering if Manuel had agreed or not.
The next morning, Catherine found two Chanel bags on the table.
They still had the purchase receipts attached, showing they were bought that morning.
Catherine curiously looked at the price tags. The two bags together cost around ten thousand dollars, definitely not cheap.
She asked in surprise, "Manuel, did you buy these bags? What are they for?"
Manuel glanced at her, looking a bit speechless, "What do you think?"
Catherine looked at the bags in confusion, "Are you giving them to your mother? Her bags should be more expensive, right?"
"They're for you." Manuel rolled his eyes.
"What?" Catherine was stunned for a moment before realizing Manuel wasn't joking.
She slowly responded, "Are these gifts for me?"
"Yes." Manuel replied without looking at her, focused on his book.
Catherine squinted, "Why are you giving me gifts out of the blue?"
Manuel felt a bit uncomfortable under her gaze, "If you don't want them, leave them there. I'll throw them in the trash."
"Who said I don't want them? I do!" Catherine quickly hugged the bags.
She was practically under a contract, so she might as well take the bags.
Seeing her hold the bags, Manuel finally spoke, "My mom invited you to dinner at the Green Mansion tonight."
Catherine froze with the bags in her hands.
"I knew there'd be a catch..." Catherine glanced at Manuel, "So you gave me the bags because of this."
Manuel snorted, "You'd have to go even if I didn't give you anything."
Catherine pouted.
Manuel said, "I'll pick you up tonight. Dress nicely."
"You don't have to, I can take a cab." Catherine waved her hand, knowing where the Green Mansion was.
"I'll take you." Manuel insisted.
Catherine thought Manuel probably wanted to pretend they were a loving couple, so she didn't refuse.
In the evening, Catherine came out wearing a black Chanel-style suit.
The outfit looked very elegant, like something a socialite would wear. It was one of Catherine's most expensive outfits, reserved for formal occasions.
Today was a family meeting, and at the Green Mansion, Manuel's grandmother was likely to be there. Kismet had given her an expensive bracelet last time, clearly valuing her. If she dressed inappropriately, she'd feel embarrassed.
Manuel drove to her door, saw her outfit, and said nothing, just told her to get in the car.
After an hour's drive, they arrived at the Green Mansion.
As they entered the first-floor hall, Kismet warmly greeted them.
"Catherine is back, haha, Manuel, you are finally willing to bring your girlfriend to see us today?" Kismet looked very happy.
"Hello, Mrs. Green." Catherine lowered her head, feeling a bit shy.
A maid brought Catherine a pair of shoes to change into, and she walked inside.
Kismet had already prepared a pot of tea and a set of beautiful tea utensils on the table, "Catherine, I have some freshly brewed tea here. Would you like some? And some snacks, feel free to eat."
Catherine nodded politely, "Thank you, Mrs. Green."
She walked to the table, and Robyn brought over a plate of cookies with a smile. The three women started chatting over tea.
After a while, Catherine noticed something seemed off with Manuel after returning to the Green Mansion.
He was unusually silent.
Manuel was usually reserved around strangers, which was understandable. But even at home, he remained cold and didn't talk much to his family.
Catherine observed that since Manuel entered the house, he had spoken only seven or eight sentences to Kismet and none to Robyn.
It was as if there was a wall between them, and neither wanted to interact.
Kismet invited Manuel, "Manuel, would you like some tea? Your mom bought it during her vacation in Sunrise City. It's quite good."
Manuel shook his head, "No, thank you."
After saying that, he continued looking at his phone.
The atmosphere became a bit awkward.
Catherine nervously clenched her clothes and couldn't help but say, "Mrs. Green, I noticed the flowers in the backyard are beautiful. Can I go take a look?"
"Sure." Kismet smiled kindly and said to Manuel, "Manuel, go with Catherine. She's new here and might get lost without someone to guide her."
Manuel agreed and got up to leave.
Outside, the air was chilly, but it wasn't as awkward as inside. Catherine let out a sigh of relief.
