Chapter 103 Distinctive
Catherine nodded. "I heard, her voice is very distinctive."
After saying this, Catherine remained silent. She wasn't very interested in Isabella's affairs. If Manuel wanted to talk, he would do so himself.
Sure enough, Manuel continued, "I was the one who broke up with her back then. Do you know why?"
Catherine pursed her lips. "What else could it be? Wasn't it because Isabella cheated on you?"
When Catherine first met Manuel, she had already heard from Alison about Isabella cheating on Manuel and their breakup.
Catherine didn't have much of an opinion on it, just thought it was quite normal. After all, with Isabella's wild nature, she didn't seem like someone who could be easily tamed.
However, what Manuel said next surprised her. "She didn't cheat at that time. I misunderstood her."
Catherine was stunned for a moment before saying, "She didn't cheat? But she got married!" She stared at Manuel in surprise. "I saw her post on Facebook, the person in the wedding photo was an old man! If she didn't cheat, how did they end up together?"
"I forced her." Manuel crossed his hands behind his head, looking at the ceiling with an indifference that Catherine couldn't quite understand.
Manuel went on, "At that time, I thought she had betrayed me again, so I made her marry that man."
Hearing this, Catherine felt it was unbelievable, but at the same time, some of the confusion in her heart began to clear.
Catherine thought inwardly, 'No wonder Isabella married such an ugly and old man! With an ex like Manuel, no matter how poor her taste, she can't possibly choose such an old man. But even married him.'
Catherine originally thought it was Isabella's deliberate revenge, but now it turned out to be Manuel's deliberate revenge.
Thinking of this, Catherine shivered and trembled.
Manuel, who once loved Isabella so deeply, was so ruthless in his revenge that he could make her marry an old man. That was really harsh!
Catherine couldn't help but think, 'If I do something to betray Manuel, his revenge will probably be even crazier, right? But then again, maybe not. After all, the deeper the love, the deeper the hate. Isabella holds such a high position in his heart, so he probably wants to take such revenge on her. As for me, to Manuel, I'm just a dispensable substitute, someone he will get tired of playing with. If I do something wrong, Manuel probably won't have the extra energy to entangle with me, at most he will cut off the medical assistance from my father.'
Catherine's heart sank, but just cutting off the medical assistance would be enough to make her overwhelmed.
While she was lost in thought, Manuel suddenly turned his head and glanced at her. "What are you thinking about?"
Catherine pursed her lips. "I think you're really strange. Aren't you afraid that one day you'll regret it and want to get back together with her? That old man is still a man after all. He might still have some sexual function left. Isabella is pretty, aren't you afraid that old man might have some lustful thoughts and do something to her?"
Manuel sneered, "He won't. He's gay; he's not interested in women."
Catherine's eyes widened as she looked at Manuel. "Really?"
Manuel responded with a nod, without further explanation.
Catherine lay back down, her eyes complicated.
So, when Robyn cursed Manuel before, saying Isabella was now happily married and might even have children, it was indeed false!
Isabella couldn't possibly have children with an old gay.
Catherine was lost in thought for a while, then suddenly realized, 'Why's Manuel telling me all this? Could it be a warning to me? To prevent me from cheating like Isabella and doing something to betray him? So annoying, why can't he just say it directly.'
Catherine soon felt drowsy.
Lying in bed really made her sleepy, she mumbled, "Since Isabella is coming back, I think I should step aside. When you two get back together, let me know so I can move my stuff."
Manuel squinted his eyes and whispered in Catherine's ear, "Why should you leave? How do you know the one staying will be her and not you? Right now, you are my official girlfriend."
Catherine chuckled, "Don't joke around. We both know the real identity of this official girlfriend. You just asked me to sign this contract to deal with your mom and grandma. The reason you still sleep with me is just because you're interested in my body. You and Isabella are the true love. If you two get back together and I'm still around, it would be ridiculous, like a mistress."
Manuel sat up, looking down at Catherine. "Don't you want to be my official girlfriend?"
Catherine laughed as she listened, "Of course not!"
She also sat up, staring at Manuel, their eyes meeting, Catherine's expression very calm. "I had any fantasies about you before, but after all this, I've seen it clearly. Manuel, you're not serious about me at all. Like today with Lily, she was pulling and tugging at you at the airport, you didn't refuse and ignored me; later at Michael's party, she insulted me in front of you, if it wasn't for your mom, you wouldn't have said a word."
Catherine continued, "What kind of official boyfriend would act like this? Do you think I'm stupid enough to like such a man? Always putting his girlfriend second, just watching from the sidelines in such situations. If we were really together in the future, if I encountered any problems, you'd probably just stand by and watch."
Manuel didn't respond.
Catherine looked at him, feeling both angry and amused. She pulled the blanket over herself. "Alright, if you're not interested in sex tonight, let's sleep. It's late, and you have to go to work tomorrow morning."
Manuel turned around and hugged her from behind. "Don't you have any feelings for me? I thought you were so angry before because you were jealous and had some feelings for me."
Catherine rolled her eyes speechlessly. Manuel's words were really shameless.
