Chapter 12: Alex Dominic

Alex left the building and returned to his car. As soon as he opened the door, Uri leaned forward, hastily asking, "How's it going?"

Alex sat in the driver's seat and coldly replied, "You don't need come on tomorrow."

"Huh? Why?" Uri asked incomprehensibly.

"Your friend is still alive." Alex pulled his seatbelt and replied.

"Rea... Really? He... Where's he? Is he safe? How do you know he's alive?" Uri asked aggressively, his zealous appearance like hatred could not climb upwards to directly ask.

"You just need to know that! The rest is the police's. You're not involved!"

Uri looked at Alex through the rearview mirror, his hand clasped into the seat wall, and said quietly, "Can... let me join..."

"No!" Alex coldly interrupted him, "You should remember your identity and know where your limits are."

Uri clenched his hand. Alex's right, he is just an outsider, he is not related to the police. Today Alex took him to the scene just because he asked him to help him.

Alex glanced at him, starting the car: "Sit down, put on your seatbelt."

Uri pursed his lips, looked at Alex as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he couldn't say a word. Uri could only be disappointed to sit back in his seat.

Neil... sorry...

Alex didn't notice him, driving back to the city.

The two of them had entered the inner city just after 5 p. m., and it was about to checkout time. Alex stopped the car in front of an alleyway and said: "Get out of the car."

Uri looked at the familiar scene outside, realizing that this was the alley where the newsroom he worked in. He was a little surprised, not thinking about Alex bringing him here. Uri quickly removed his seatbelt and carried his backpack into the car. He walked to the front door, and knocked on the car's glass.

Alex lowered the car window, didn't even look at him, just coldly said: "What's wrong?"

"If there's news about Neil... uhm about my friend... will you notify me?"

Alex thought for a moment, then nodded: "Yes."

Uri breathed a sigh of relief, thinking Alex would refuse. He quickly took out a business card from his backpack and passed it through the car door: "This... this is my business card, my phone number on it..."

Alex looked at the business card, hesitated a little, then reached out his hand to recognize it.

Uri quickly dropped his hand and said, "Thank... thank you for bringing me back..."

Alex didn't respond, just nodded, then drove off.

Uri watched the silver-gray car blend into the busy traffic, his face disappointed, and he breathed a little sigh. Looking at the clock, it was almost checkout time. The two of them had been together for an afternoon. Fortunately, he took a break early.

Thinking that going home at this moment, grandma would be worried. Uri had to go back to the newsroom. As soon as he got to the door, a colleague asked:

"Uri, who drove you back?"

Uri looked at him, slightly annoyed. The person in front of him was Kalye Wall, two years younger than Uri, working as an editor. Although he's only been in the newsroom for half a year, Uri doesn't have much sympathy for him. It's just because he's always doing unthankful tasks, always talking about the lives of his colleagues. Uri felt that he didn't seem to like him either. Several times when Uri came up with ideas for the month-end article, he was rejected by him.

Because he didn't want to cause trouble, Uri just waved his hand, softly replied, "Just a friend."

But Kalye didn't seem to give up, deliberately raising his voice: "Friend? When did you know a friend went to Maybach? As far as I know, this car costs at least $400, 000!"

Everyone in the office was starting to buzz.

Uri pursed his lips to look at him, felt a great headache, sighed a little, and could only say: "As a member of the police station... came to ask me about Neil's matter."

Kalye had no intention of letting go of him: "Ask one whole afternoon?"

Uri frowned, his face clearly unhappy. Uri didn't answer him, returning to his table.

"Well, what's to hide? It's okay if you don't say it. I will not say I saw the person in the car who was silver-haired the other day coming to our newsroom."

You had told!

Uri coldly snorted.

"The one who came to our newsroom? Is that the FBI?

"That handsome man?"

"Uri, did he really bring you back?"

Uri smiled, not responding.

"Azzz, that's not who we can touch!" A female colleague spoke up.

"Why did you say that?" Kalye Walls asked quickly.

"His name is Alex Dominic, the captain of the FBI task force, who used to work for the CIA. He just came here last year to take on his current job. Although he has only been taken office for half a year, he has successfully solved many difficult cases. Does everyone remember the case of mass murder of women earlier this year? He quashes it! No one in the circle doesn't know him. As for the family behind it..." The female colleague said softly, "It's still a mystery, no one knows his background. But my uncle said it would certainly not be ordinary. Just look at his aura and the clothes he wears. He came here the other day wearing a limited edition CANALI suit!"

Everyone in the office who heard about this in their hearts couldn't help but praise him.

"Your uncle works at the police station?"

"That's right, he said Alex is very famous in the police station!"

"Can you ask your uncle if Alex has a girlfriend?" Another female colleague spoke up.

"It's useless, girl! With or without, he won't keep an eye on us! He is so perfect!"

"Isn't that the same as in the story? The love story between the captain of the FBI from a prominent family and an ordinary girl!"

The whole office was made fun of b this one word from the girl.

Uri's eyes were on the computer, but his mind was on the conversation with colleagues. Thinking back to the car and jacket with the sky-high price of Alex, Uri felt that the words of his colleague were not wrong.

Wouldn't anyone throw a hundred-dollar shirt in the trash decisively like him!

He's talented, he's beauty and he's got money, the only downside is that he's too cold and always ignores others.

At the same time, Alex returned to the police station. As he closed the car door, his eyes stopped at the business card in the trunk. Alex thought for a moment and leaned over to take it.

Full name: Uri Wayne

Position: Editor of JSK Newsroom

Address: No. 17 Lane, Hermic Street, Los Angeles City.

Phone number: 670xxxxxxxxx

Alex gently squeezed the edge of the card, then did not hesitate to throw it in the trash next to him.

At the same time, a police car came and stopped beside. Donna got out from inside, saw Alex a bit surprised, then quickly said: "Captain, where have you been the whole afternoon? "

"That's work." Alex closed the car door and replied softly, "Is there any information on Neil Royce?"

Donna shook her head, "We checked all the cameras in the city, except where we've seen him, we haven't seen him anywhere else... Uhm, the Social Vices Prevention team just received plus one person that reported being missing."

"Information?"

" A male, 22 years old, a trainee who just graduated from school, hasn't come to the company for two days."

"For the time being, let that party take care of it. You help me check if any abandoned places in the inner city are discreet, suitable for gatherings, and can accommodate a large number of people. Prefer places near Pershing Square."

Donna, though curious, didn't ask much, quickly nodded: "Yes, captain."
