Stop seeing Damon
Stop seeing Damon
"Nice doing business with you, Smith."
Archie waved his glass at the screen.
Paul chuckled in return. "Save the date, Foster. I will hit you up."
Both men nodded before Archie switched off the screen, curling his lips in satisfaction before he decided to call his girlfriend.
\[Archie, I can't talk right now, Damon is coming.\]
Nancy hung up before he could talk, her actions causing his eyes to darken.
He shook his head and made a few phone calls, making sure nothing extreme was happening in River City.
However, Nancy slipped her phone into her purse and sat across from Damon at the Foster restaurant.
"Hey, you look flushed. Is everything okay?"
Damon looked concerned as their eyes met.
"Anyone could if they were in my situation."
She paused as they gave the waiter their orders.
"Otherwise, are you good?"
She smiled faintly, leaning back in her seat with her exposed arms glowing.
Damon glanced at her and smiled charmingly.
She had worn something fancy for the week, and he told himself she was just happy not to be going to work.
"I'm good, thanks. I love your dress."
He winked at her, and she blushed under his warm gaze.
"Thanks, Mr Bridge. You don't look bad yourself."
She teased as they exchanged an awkward glance.
"So, how is your father doing?"
She shook her head, slightly parting her lips.
"I heard there is some motion, but I'm never going back there."
She blinked as he pressed his lips together, taking her hand in his.
"Why the change of heart? Shouldn't you support him until he gets out?"
She forced a bitter smile, appreciating the warmth of his hand.
"No, I can't do that when he has a new family to take care of him. Even Hannah doesn't want to be involved. I am not judging since she has every right not to check on him."
She sighed heavily.
"Whatever you decide, Peach."
She nodded, and the two of them smiled and indulged in a nice conversation until he had to leave for work.
"Thanks."
Nancy smiled at Dorcas as she got into the Foster Manor.
The place was so quiet, with only helpers around, passing by and dusting even the cleanest places.
"Roselyn, Rose!"
Nancy shouted from the entrance, quickly checking the living room, but it was still empty.
Dorcas felt defeated as she followed her.
Instead of asking me, she is shouting.
The old woman shrugged off her thoughts and gently tapped Nancy's shoulder.
"Mrs Foster is in the pool. Come, let me show you."
Nancy clutched her bag and followed her to the swimming pool that was farther into the big manor.
She was wearing high heels, her golden thin-strap dress glued to her skin as she gracefully walked a short mile with the woman.
"There she is. Anything you want?"
Dorcas asked softly, but Nancy shook her head and walked to the pool, sitting on a bench while looking at her friend who was still in the water, diving and enjoying herself.
Rose saw her friend on the bench and got out slowly with an easy smile on her face.
She wore a blue swimsuit that hugged her curves, her pale skin looking cute with water dripping from her hair onto her face. Nancy checked out her toenails, which had blue nail polish. She appreciated the beautiful sight she was getting.
"Somebody is blushing here."
Roselyn chuckled and sat next to her friend after wiping off her body with a towel.
"Who wouldn't be charmed by this soft skin?
"It has been a while since I have seen you this active and happy. Whatever Liam is doing, he is on the right track."
Rose glanced at her friend, passing a knowing look that the both of them understood.
"I have not told him, but we have an issue in our hands," Rose whispered as Nancy stared at her, completely bewildered but still concluding from the low expression on Roselyn's face.
"Please don't tell me Liam is cheating, otherwise we're kicking some ass!"
Nancy fumed, her hazel eyes widening.
"Shuuu, calm down, Risa. There is a new stalker in town," Roselyn uttered, and silence settled among them as her words sank in.
"I don't understand. I think you should inform Liam. He might have a way of dealing with this, or maybe Paul."
Nancy suggested, but her friend hesitated.
"My husband has a lot on his plate, but look at this. Isn't this the same person?"
Rose opened her gallery and showed Nancy the screenshots of the news or blogs that wrote about them, including the ones with Damon and Sam's drama, which was the Scoop Nancy missed because of going in and out, juggling her own job and helping Dr Wilson with his patients.
"Joker 101, I have no idea. And why didn't you show me this video of Sam and Damon?" She raised her eyebrows.
"That was too embarrassing for Sam, but I am happy the two made up. But the question is, how do we hunt down this prick?"
Roselyn snapped.
She grew up being low-key, with her friends not including her in the media or showing her off on socials, even though they were a wealthy family in the country, but now an unknown, obsessed journalist was bold enough to make gossip about her.
"Alright, I understand. This is not looking good. They are dragging all of us and Liam. Don't you think this is one of Liam's exes?"
Nancy dropped a bomb, and Rose stood up in a haste, her green eyes widening as she exchanged a surprised glance with her friend.
"Do you think Michelle is involved?"
Nancy raised her eyebrows, a flicker of realization crossing her features.
"So you know about her?"
Roselyn gave a quick nod, her expression softening as their eyes met.
"Now, if it is her, we going to have a new problem. Want to have a trip to London?"
Roselyn whispered as she sat back beside Nancy, who watched with hesitation.
"I don't think that is a good idea, especially if you were a victim of abduction before. What if this one is worse?"
Nancy asked with concern flashing in her eyes.
"That is the only way, unless you call Archibald. He is our way out of this."
Roselyn suggested, and Nancy pulled out her phone at her request, putting it on speaker.
Archie's phone rang for seconds until he picked up.
\[Damon is gone now?\]
She exchanged a glance with Roselyn, her nostrils flaring.
\[Yeah, I'm at home, but I have a problem.\]
\[I am listening.\]
Archie's cold voice came, and Rose almost snatched the phone if not for Nancy smiling.
\[There's a new journalist called Joker 101. He is dragging Rose, Paul, and Liam. Almost everyone. Can you please help me find him?\]
\[And in return, you stop seeing Damon?\]
She hesitated, but Rose gestured for her to agree.
\[Anything to please you, Archie!\]
He was silent for a moment.
\[His name is Dan, Michelle's cousin. Be prepared to be dragged for a while, but don't tell my sister-in-law.\]
A fleeting smile crossed Roselyn's lips.
\[Thanks, love.\]
Nancy hung up and they strategised.
