Chapter 11.1

Before the car exploded Michael had pulled his driver away from the car. They were both safe, pulling out his phone he called the police and Benjamin.

Looking around he saw that this was the same spot he first met Joanna. The police arrived soon afterwards and took his statement.

"Mike I think you should go to the hospital," Benjamin said with a worried expression.

"I am alright, the paramedics will patch me up here," he said his voice laced with venom.

As he stood up to go to the ambulance he winced in pain only to finally notice a piece of glass stuck in his leg, how it got there he had no idea, he must have not felt any pain due to the adrenalin rush.

Benjamin helped his friend into the ambulance as they headed to the hospital.

After getting patched up. He saw both his parents and Joanna's in the waiting room. As soon as he walked up to them his mother hugged him with tears in her eyes.

The week flew by with no useful information from the police. Walking into the station, Michael headed straight into the Chiefs office.

"Do you have any leads as who could have taken her and her son?"

"I am sorry sir, but there is nothing. After asking around we found out that she has a lot of enemies, because of her ruthless nature. My men are working around the clock to find her. We will find her..."

Without another word he left the office, looking like a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders. Returning to work, he lashed out at anyone who tried to say anything to him. Even Parker was now afraid to approach him. Benjamin called in Jackson into his office.

"I need you to do what you do best. Track her down and do it fast."

"Of course Benjamin. How is he doing?"

"I have never seen him like this, that's all I can say. We need to get her back. The police are not helping one bit."

"I will get back to you as soon as possible."

Meanwhile Michael called an old friend.

"Greg, how are you? How is your family?"

"Michael, it's been a while. I am good, the family is great. You sound awful man, is everything alright?"

"Still remember that favour you owe me?"

"Yes, what's up?"

"I need help finding a friend of mine. She was taken right in front of me and the police aren't helping."

"Consider it done, I will tell my men to get right on it. Does this friend go by the name of Joanna?"

"Yes, how did you know that? No let me guess Benjamin."

"Yes, you guessed right. That boy should settle down he has nothing to do rather than meddle in other people's lives," he chuckled as he hung up the phone.
