Chapter 97 Officially My Fiancée 1

Chapter 97 Officially My Fiancée 1
DEAN

Nadia and I are heading to her parents' house, where we've been invited for a family lunch.

Well, for those of you who followed my marriage proposal last night, I must say that I am truly happy that Nadia accepted it.

What do you mean? Didn't you see her respond with a big, cheerful yes?

Then I will recall the enchanting moment when I proclaimed her as my fiancée.

FLASHBACK

"My dearest and beloved Nadia," I said, holding up the small box containing the engagement ring.

"Will you marry me?"

Nadia brought her hands to her mouth in a silent act of surprise, and I must say that this reaction made me smile with pride.

In the end, I managed to hide my true intentions until now, and since I don't want to risk losing her again, I decided to ask for her hand in marriage in the most romantic way I could think of.

Although I don't consider myself a fan of romance, I think I did well in this area.

So? - I raised an eyebrow anxiously.

She remained silent as she lowered her hands and smiled beautifully.

"Yes!" she exclaimed.

"I accept your marriage proposal, Mr. Romantic!"

Mr. Romantic? What a curious nickname.

I felt my cheeks throb with the huge smile that formed on my face, and while I tried to open the little box with my trembling fingers, Nadia wiped away tears of joy on her face.

And I must say that she looked beautiful when she cried, so much so that her eyes shone and her lips were red and inviting.

"I now proclaim you my fiancée and future wife," I said as I placed the ring on her finger.

And just like in those movies where the hero proclaims his love in public, several people rounds applausd, along with whistles and words of encouragement.

Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!

The restaurant patrons were shouting, while some women cried and others clapped joyfully.

Nadia smiled shyly as I stood up and prepared to kiss her in public.

My hands wrapped around her waist and I turned her to face me, where our bodies pressed together and our lips met.

The kiss was calm and necessary, a moment where I conveyed how happy I was.

FLASHBACK END

"We're here," I said, parking the car in front of her parents' mansion.

"Are you okay?"

Nadia looked nervous as she stared at her engagement ring.

"I'm... " she murmured thoughtfully.

"It's just that I don't know what my father's reaction will be."

"Don't worry, my love." I stroked her cheek.

"I already told you, he knows."

Yes, I told her about the little chat I had with her father.

"I know." She looked at me.

"It's just that I wasn't the one who told him, and he might get angry that I hid our relationship."

"He won't get angry," I smiled, reassuring her.

"What if I stay?" she asked hesitantly.

"He's not angry, but if you stay, you'll suffer prematurely." I kissed her shoulder and got out of the car.

"Shall we go now?" I asked, opening the passenger door.

Okay. - She took my hand and we stopped in front of the main door.

NADIA

Dean rang the doorbell twice before the maid opened the door.

Ms. Thompson. - She looked at me and then looked at Dean.

The maid stared at him shamelessly, and since I'm a jealous woman, though I don't show it much, I gave the maid a death glare, and she blushed.

"Mr. and Mrs. Thompson are waiting for you," she said, looking at me shyly.

"Don't worry, I know my house," I said when she made a move to guide us to the garden.

Okay. - She replied, then left.

"What was that?" Dean asked, smiling slightly.

What? - I pretended not to understand.

That's a display of jealousy. - Dean smiled even more.

I'm not jealous. - I lied.

"You already said you can't lie." He put his arm around my waist and led me to the garden.

"Daughter!" my mother shouted as soon as she saw us.

"I missed you so much!"

She pulled me into a hug and assessed my blue dress with ruffles.

"You look beautiful." She smiled.

"Where's the ring?"

Dean looked at me suspiciously as I hid my left hand behind my back.

"Show her my love," he encouraged me.

I didn't say anything and just extended my hand forward, where I was met with an euphoric shout from my mother.

"How enormous!" she exclaimed, referring to the diamond, and I have to agree with her.

It was huge, so much so that when I saw it I almost had a heart attack.

According to Dean, he wanted everyone to see that I'm his fiancée, so he bought a ring that could be seen from any angle.

He and his millionaire ostentation are going to drive me crazy someday...

"I'm so happy!" my mother shouted, hugging me again.

"And your father is too."

I looked around the garden and saw my father staring at me with a serious yet affectionate look.

Dad... - I murmured uncertainly.

"Nadia," he said seriously.

"Come here."

I took a deep breath before walking towards him and stopping in front of him.

"You're such a silly girl." He surprised me by hugging me tightly.

"You didn't need to hide anything, you know I only want your happiness."

"I know, Dad, it's just that..." I hugged him back, feeling like I was on the verge of tears.

"I'm sorry, Dad."

"Don't worry." My father walked away smiling.

"Dean told me everything, and I'm happy for you both."

Thank you. - I smiled, placing a kiss on his cheek. - I love you both.

My mother came over and we hugged as a trio, murmuring cheerful but nonsensical things.

Dean. - My father called him.

Come here and give me a hug, my son.

Dean smiled before approaching my father and hugging him, let's say, a "manly" hug, because there was that whole ritual of pats on the back followed by a deliberate cough.

"So..." I said, trying to ease the awkward atmosphere.

"Lunch is ready," my mother said, saving us all.

(...)

Dean and I spent the whole afternoon at my parents' house, and let's just say that time didn't pass, it practically flew by.

My mother asked me all sorts of embarrassing questions, including about my first time with Dean, which made me almost choke trying to think of a lie, because I couldn't say that we had sex in the bathroom here at home, where I was tied up while Dean was fucking me like crazy.

No, there was absolutely no way I could say that, so I paraphrased a good part of the scene.

And let's just say I did very well, until, when we were almost leaving, my mother asked the famous question, which I was hoping she would forget.

"And so, Dean..." she smiled excitedly.

"When are you going to give me grandchildren?"

My eyes widened as I watched Dean's lips move instantly.

"In a few months." He smiled proudly.

"What?!" my mother shouted in surprise.

"My daughter is pregnant?!"

Now we're screwed...

Wait, Mom... - I tried to calm the euphoric, crazy woman who had previously seemed like a normal person.

"I can't believe you were going to leave without telling me I'm going to be a grandmother!" she exclaimed indignantly.

I shot Dean a death glare, to which he shrugged apologetically.

I wasn't going to... - I was trying to find an explanation.

How was I saying...

Oh Mom, I wasn't going to tell you until the moment of delivery, because if I told you before, you'd go crazy, causing serious damage to my mental health.

Because if there's one thing my mother dreams of being, it's a grandmother, so much so that she has a little notebook where she writes down names to give my son, names that didn't exist a month ago.

Dimitri! - She shouted to my father, who appeared right after.

"What's wrong, my dear?" he asked.

"Our daughter is pregnant." She tried to remain angry, but she was visibly happy.

"What?!" my father shouted indignantly.

"Wait, Dad..." I tried to argue, but he looked at Dean suspiciously.

"So that's why you're going to marry her?" my father asked.

"Because you got her pregnant?!"

Dean turned pale at the statement and immediately began to deny it.

"No, Mr. Thompson," he said nervously.

"I love your daughter, and we found out she's pregnant a few days ago."

But you...

They started arguing, while my mother screamed and my father yelled his lungs out.

I didn't know whether to run away or stay and fight...

My parents are really stubborn and impulsive.

So I took in all the air my chest could hold, and released it in a deafening scream.

"That's enough!" I exclaimed after they fell silent.

"At least be quiet for a little while so I can explain."

Everyone nodded in agreement, and I sighed wearily.

"Mom," I said, looking at her.

"I was waiting for the right time to tell you, because if I told you anyway, you'd be the way you are now, out of control."

She looked at me for a few seconds and then apologized.

"Dad," I said, giving him a serious look.

"Dean and I aren't getting married because I'm pregnant, but because we love each other."

Dean looked at me passionately, and my father caught us in the act.

"See?" I said to him.

"You can see in his eyes that he's crazy about me."

I smiled, seeing Dean frown at my conviction.

"And I'm crazy about him," I finished, making him smile.

"So please, don't jump to conclusions, because the last thing I want is for you to imagine things that don't exist."

My parents silently confirmed it again, and I smiled contentedly.

"Now you can talk," I said to the two of them.

"I'm sorry, daughter," they both said at the same time, and we burst out laughing.

I love these crazy guys.
