Chapter 0067:The Interview (1).

“The crowd is increasing with every second that is passing, president Cheng. I’m afraid that at this point we will have to step out and release an official statement like they are demanding.” Jake said, coming inside the sitting room where Xavier sat after he’s been released from the station by Cheng for hitting Anne.

There was no evidence yet that he did it, likewise Anne who hasn't pressed charges. Yet, they didn’t know until when she would continue to keep quiet, since everything that happened in that hospital was seen by a bunch of reporters.

It still fazed Jake how suddenly things were spiraling out of control on Xavier’s side, he might not have taken Anne seriously but he didn't hit her. Someone was trying to frame and ruin Xavier’s career, someone that Xavier himself might have met since he hasn’t said anything after they came back to his place.

Outside his house was filled with reporters, demanding a statement from him or the agency if he can’t do that. Cheng has been calling Anne’s agency but they weren’t picking up.

It’s alarming that Anne’s agency has blamed Xavier for her being in the hospital, but they couldn’t do anything because they didn’t have the evidence. But what went down moments ago, ruined everything for Xavier. He only hoped that the damage wasn't fatal and that Anne wouldn't say anything out of place.

“All these could have been avoided if a certain someone held in his anger.” Cheng blamed Xavier, who was lying in the chair with his right hand placed over his temple.

He was asleep or not, he has refused to talk to anyone, including him and Cheng wasn’t helping issues by blaming him further. After all, Xavier has left for the hospital with the intention of checking on Anne.

Cheng himself has suggested that he does that to clear the misunderstanding between both agencies, both now things have fallen apart.

“I think this is not the time to start blaming anyone, sir. We have to figure out how to handle things from here on.” Jake suggested, while Cheng cleared his throat composing himself because he was a bit embarrassed that he’s taking advice from someone like him.

“For the meantime, Anne’s agency isn’t taking my calls and i don’t know how long they are going to keep quiet, so we will have to make a move first.” Cheng said, sitting down opposite Xavier.

“Xavier will have to apologize.” Cheng blurted out, and that was all it took for Xavier who was lying down, pretending to be dumb and sleeping to wake up and glare at him.

“You must be kidding.” He told Cheng. “ I did nothing to that bitch, she and her ex boyfriend are the ones who planned to frame me up!” He yelled.

“Well nobody cares for that!” Cheng yelled back, since he’s not willing to see the damage his actions were causing not just him but his business. “Your face was captured trying to hit Anne, that’s what everyone is talking about. You have no evidence that it was a setup , neither was it orchestrated by Anne or the ex boyfriend. So wake up, Xavier. This time the fight is not favoring you.” Cheng said with anger lacing his tone, for Xavier to notice that this was no child’s play.

He might go to jail if Anne presses charges, yet here was still trying to prove his innocence that wasn’t relevant anymore.

Despite everything that was happening, Xavier was sure that something was wrong with Anne. Back at the hospital, the look on her Dave didn’t seem like someone who was trying to frame him up.

She looked like she needed…help.

Even when the reporters came in to video him trying to hit her, she still tried to defend him. Something was going on with Anne, and nobody was bothered to know what that is all about.

But it was clear to him that it has something to do with her ex boyfriend, that man looked dangerous. The aura he was giving off was enough for him to know that he wasn’t good for her, not that it scared him because he was just a piece of cake that he can take care of, had it not been for the situation he’s in.

But unfortunately he can’t do anything right now, and most importantly, he won’t be coming around Anne anymore after all this is settled.

“So you will do the interview this evening.”Cheng said, bringing up a brown file to him as he took out a paper out of it.” That’s all you need to memorize for the interview, remember Xavier, you must act like you are regretting your actions. No foul play here, after that I will handle the issues with her agency.”

Cheng turned to face Jake after talking to Xavier who has nothing to say anymore, “Make sure that he goes through these, and be on time at the company lounge, that’s where the interview will be held at 8.”

Jake nodded. “Yes sir.”

“I have called for security, so it won’t be hard for him to leave through the back door. Just make sure that he doesn’t do anything stupid.” Cheng said standing up from the chair to leave but stopped to give Xavier one last piece of advice.

“If I were you, I would start a new live using this and stop chasing stupid girls.”

With that being said, he left even before Xavier could rub it in his face that he’s the one that brought the both of them together.

He was tired and angry.

But if there’s anything that was good that came from Cheng's advice, it was him not giving up on Diana, the only woman that has caught his eyes after years.

Call him selfish for wishing that her marriage will fail, but he couldn’t help it. He wondered if she’s bothered about him just like he is about her right now.

He sighed tiredly when he remembered that Cheng took his phone, he was prohibited from making any calls for now. Since he knew that he wasn’t going to leave Anne alone after the drama at the hospital.

He stood up from the sofa, taking the file along with him. “ I will be in my room.”

He told Jake who tried to follow him. Courtesy of Cheng ordering him to keep an eye on him.

“Are you okay?” Jake asked all of a sudden, as he turned around to look at him.

He scoffed at the look he found on his face.

“ why won’t i be?” He said before leaving for his room. Something as little as this can’t bring him down. If Anne was pretending at the hospital and aided her ex to hurt him, she wouldn't go scot free.

That’s all he has to say, and for her ex, Xavier reminded himself that he should be cautious around him if he wanted to pay him back for what he had done to him.
