Chapter 140:Michael's Ego
Lucas paced up and down in Kelsey's office, he was trembling and his hands vibrated
“This is very serious Lucas, I told you, tell me everything that might be used against you-
“how the fuck was I supposed to know that double C will snitch on us? I bet Duke has no idea of this. If not, Charleston would be dead by now”, Lucas snapped.
“and Grace does she-
“no, no, don't tell her about this, please”, Lucas told her; Kelsey stood up and took a deep breath.
“Mrs. Silver will surely get that Chief Agent on her side, she will do everything no matter what to win this very complicated case-
She didn't finish when Grace barged into her office, she stood hands akimbo staring at them.
“Lucas, do I know Duke Martin, and why are y'all scared?”Grace asked impatiently, she walked in, closed the door and dropped her bag on the table.
“and why the fuck are you telling Kelsey to keep this from me?”She asked again.
A few minutes later, Grace stood up grabbed her bag and headed out
“you should go after her”
Kelsey advised, and Lucas stood up and hurried after Grace. She was already driving off when he came out, he got into his car and drove after her.

“Jason, stop working for these people, why do you keep lying to me? Oh so now what? Do you want to collect a huge sum of money to eliminate Lucas?Grace's Lucas!”Emily yelled, and Jason banged his fist on the table; Emily jerked, and Jason paced up and down.

He yelled, Emily was shocked
“I'm sorry Jason did I say something that I wasn't meant to
Jason walked out of the room without waiting for her to complete her statement, he banged the door behind him. Emily was confused, she didn't know what to say or do.
“you do know that Grace was his love once; you think it has been easy for him seeing her fight for another man every day?”Sarah, who had been eavesdropping, entered and told her; Emily wiped her tears, grabbed her bag and left the bar.
“I'm never falling in love” Sarah muttered and left to continue attending to people at the bar.

General John yelled and almost hugged Mrs. Silver.
“We have him now! I have heard a lot about Duke Martin, and I think Lucas might be right about not associating with him lately; he wasn't at Ashley Cole's funeral service,” General John uttered.
“Yeah, yeah you are right, but why?”Mrs. Silver wondered. Mr. Victor and Micheal arrived and they immediately changed the topic
“We have been waiting I have good news”
Mrs. Silver smiled at them.
“We have the FBI on our side”, She announced, and everyone sighed with relief.
“This is great,” Micheal uttered.
“yes it is” General uttered smiling
“Any other thing that we should know, Mrs. Silver?”Micheal asked.
Mrs. Silver looked at General John and he avoided her stare, Mrs. Silver took one good look at Micheal and smirked
“We have something against Lucas, have you ever heard of Duke Martin?”She asked; the general adjusted to his seat; she was not doing what they had planned.
“What!, Duke-, yes I have heard of him, a mafia boss and uh-, I don't know all I know is he is wanted and he is my fuckin role model-
“Micheal” Mr. Victor cautioned.
“yes that Duke, now we just need to find out what is this terrible thing that Lucas has with Duke Martin, Charleston Charles and the late Ashley Cole”

“I'm sorry, Grace”, Lucas uttered; Grace drank from the bottle of Hennessy; whenever she drank straight from the bottle, Lucas knew she was angry.
She kept the bottle and stared at him
“When I was young, Mr Ethan would tell me stories of people in power and the dirty, hidden things they do. I hated them, the day I stepped into your office my dad convinced me to check it, I had no idea he had a reason for wanting me to come to your-
“Grace, please, I promise I don't have anything to do with Duke anymore,” Lucas told her; she stared at him.
“That's because Duke Martin does not roll with people that their business is shaking”, Grace uttered and stood up; she held his hands and stared at him.
“but fuck Duke, fuck Mrs Silver and her cohorts, we will def this case,”, She told him; he smiled and hugged her tightly.
Emily entered and walked past them in a hurry and entered her room, Grace went after her
“Emily?”
She knocked and opened the door, Emily sat on her chair and told Grace everything.
“I feel like he hasn't gotten over you, Grace, and I'm not going to lie, it hurts”, She added.
“He has gotten over me, Emily; what he has not gotten over is our memory; now it's left for you to create new memories with him, and you will see that he has gotten over me,” Grace told her.
“But he was ready to kill Lucas and it's because of you,” Emily added.
“Well, I will put that on you to make sure he changes his mind”, Grace uttered and left the room.

General John was furious with Mrs Silver when Micheal left with Mr Victor
“I knew what I was doing, imagine the great opportunity we will have when Micheal decides to meet with this Duke Martin, I told him because I know he would want to see him-
“Then what about our plan? They are not supposed to know about it-
“General I think before I do things so please you need to trust me, we can use Micheal's ego to get Duke Martin on our side-
“And how are you sure he wants to be involved in all these?”John snapped and Mrs. Silver smiled.
“Trust me, general, I have my sources, so calm down, let Micheal do his thing, and then we will take over from there,” She assured him.
