“Fucking hell, I thought you knew. I have been anticipating an answer.” I slapped my own forehead.

“I would be more of a wreck if I had the answer, don't you think?” Hannah tipped her head at me and I was glad to see a little bit of her natural attitude coming through. I don't want her all sad and shit. It can't be good for the baby.

She tipped her nose up and sniffed the air. With her hand rubbing her big stomach, she looked around.

“Did you say you made food?” She asked me, I chuckled and helped her up off the sofa so she could head to the table.

She is at the stage in pregnancy when she can't really stand up the first try. Like a Rollie pollie but I won't say that to her or she will probably cry about it. Every time I facetime with her while she was living overseas, she complained that she was fat and so.

“Gabe called me, you know?” I beat around the bush a little bit while I served her a plate. She peeked up at me but was already digging in.

“For what? He is an asshole too. Every man in my life is a complete shit head except you, Roy.” She smiled at me for once

Kissing ass is what it is, because she knows my ass is too damn tall to sleep on a sofa but I am doing it anyway so she can have my bed tonight.

“He is worried about you, whether he wants to show it or not.” I defended her brother, only a little.

“If he cares, he shouldn't have forced me to go out of the country in the first place. He is the one who wanted me to hide it, you know. Him and my father, that whole thing was their idea because I brought shame to the Vortex name.” She spat the last part.

“Like you idiots don't shame the Vortex name every day when you are out there commiting crimes and fucking whores.” She waved her fork around in enthusiasm.

“Hey, I am not an idiot.” I defended her general accusations of the Vortex men.

“Kind of, not as much as everyone else but definitely a little bit.” She teased me. I think it was teasing, probably not.

“Listen, all that shít is behind you now, just chill out today. Eat, take a hot shower and go lay down for a while. It will be good for you, nobody is going to bug you here.” I promised her.

I hope not at least, if my uncle come over here starting problems, I really don't want to fucking deal with it. I don't think he will though, he just doesn't know what the hell to do about this whole situation.

“I will but..umm..can I have a little more?” The expecting mother feeding for two peeked up at me like a child asking for a second scoop of ice cream.

“It is all yours.” I waved over to the pot on the stove.

Well, I guess we have to wait to know who the father is. This week's most active answer.

My body is my choice. These are scary times in my country, especially for people of color, LGBT and women. Slowly over the course of my life, I have somehow watched my country backslide into former more prejudiced days instead of moving forward as a truly free and progressive country, like we are advertised to be. And maybe this topic is especially sensitive for me based on my upcoming circumstances and how completely out of control I feel about them. How I lost my right to choose for myself when my father re-entered my life. It is scary to know your autonomy, your anatomy belong to someone other than yourself.

I would like to think of myself as a strong woman, I would like to think that I could stand up to my father or my brothers when they threaten me with their power. Maybe that is why seeing my internal conflict being projected into my external surroundings has me feeling so passionate about this but last night was a great tragedy for those communities I mentioned before and others like it. In light of the law being overturned in some states, it stirred up a lot of issues in the country that we can not ignore.

To remove one's choice is one of the most dangerous backslides in this false progressive country because when does it stop? If they can make abortions illegal in some of the states again, then who's to say they don't take a woman's right to vote away again. Who's to say that they don't make gay marriage illegal again. Today, I went out to the park to protest with others against all that is wrong in what the supreme court decided for women's bodies. What senseless violence was perpetual because of it and just for general prejudice. It was an inclusive rally to rise up against the racists, sexist, bigots, the women haters and noe-nazi supremacy ground. The brain dead politics extremists. I was overwhelmed by the crowd that showed up today, so many beautiful like minded people came together. I looked around and obsessed the people before I even submerged myself to join them. I wanted to see, to understand what I was ready to be part of.

I had only touched my phone a few times to record and take pictures of the women's rally to capture the powerful moments. I took pictures of the masses of people like a sea of moving fish, I took pictures of all the different colored hands holding each other and I took pictures of women crying and hugging other women. Only when I got home did I realize I had a text message from Roy. I hadn't heard from him since the night we had sex which was five days ago. Not that I expected him to reach out to me, I held no high hopes for any continuous line of communication. Still, he texted me today, so I opened the message while sitting on my laminate kitchen counter that was sticking to my thighs with a popsicle in my mouth.

'Hey, beautiful. It has been a busy week. I haven't been able to reach out but what are you up to this weekend? Up for second around?’ he asked me outright. I can respect that.

'This weekend? Who knows.’ I replied, I decided not to jump to the idea of seeing him again. If Roy wants casual, I can do casual indeed.

The reality of it is, I have nowhere to go. I will be home reading or something like that. I am a homebody, but that is a dull way to answer a question. Rather, I leave it vague.
