CHAPTER 1
Max had been hiking through the woods for a few hours now. He had lost track of time to some extent, but every now and again he would look up at the sky quickly, just to make sure that it wasn't getting too late and he'd have plenty of time to get back.
He had plenty to think about, and he had always found that getting out in nature helped him to think more clearly.
It had been a crazy few months for him, there was no doubt about that. He had finished high school, turned nineteen, and now he was trying to decide what to do next with his life. Summer had seemed as though it would never end, and then suddenly it was over and he still hadn't made any great decision about what to do next with his life. As things had got a lot quieter he had been faced with the fact that he was really going to have to think about his future.
He had never really been one for partying hard, but he had done his best to throw himself into the spirit of things. He didn't quite fit in with his peers,
even though he was quite popular. He was a tall, well-built young man with skin that seemed to be permanently tanned even in the depths of winter. His hair was shoulder length and sandy blonde. He had green eyes and an easy smile that seemed to lighten the mood of anyone around him.
People liked being around him, but somehow he always seemed to set himself apart from others. It was as though he was there, but at the same time, he was always not quite there, as though he was thinking about something else.
Perhaps that was why he had never really got that close to any of the girls his own age. A few of them had tried, and he had enjoyed brief liaisons with some of them, but nothing had ever really come from it. Things had got pretty heavy a few times, but somehow he was still a virgin. Deep down, he felt as though what he really wanted was a simple life and he didn't want any potential complications. He reassured himself that when the time was right when he met the right person, then it would all fall into place. He wasn't in too much of a rush, although it was something that he sometimes thought about.
On this crisp, fall day he was thinking about a few different things. He was thinking about the summer that had passed and wondering what he should do next.
Soon enough it would be winter, and he felt as though he had to have something planned for then. Every time he tried to focus on what his different options were, however, he found his mind wandering once again.
As his feet crunched through piles of leaves, he started to think about Suzy. She was one girl he had got close to over the summer. He thought about how good she had looked in her little white bikini. Her long legs, her flat stomach, her perky little breasts. Sometimes the thought occurred to him that she could have been the one for him. He could have lost his virginity to her. And yet he hadn't. He thought about swimming in the lake at night. What if the other people hadn't been there?
He thought about what it had been like when the two of them had been swimming together. They would come in close to one another and he would feel her legs against his as she kicked underwater. He thought about his hand on her back and pulling her close - the two of them kissing one another.
He thought about their bodies coming together, moving over one another. He thought about the passion growing as they both finally understood where this was going. He thought about slipping a hand around her back and tugging at her bikini top. She would gasp in mock surprise and pretend that she was trying to cover up her modesty, but her smile would betray her true feelings. She would want this every bit as much as he did.
He would have his hands on her waist beneath the water. His hands would move further up her body and feel her breasts. He'd pull her in close and she'd feel his cock pushing up against her. That would be it - they would both want it so much that they would paddle back to shore as quickly as possible.
He thought about taking her over to his blanket.
"I'm cold," she'd say, simply. He'd take her in his arms, feeling her soft, wet little body against his. They'd lie down on the blanket and their hands would be all over one another. He thought about pulling his wet swim shorts off, pulling her bikini bottoms down, their two naked bodies rubbing against one another. The cool summer breeze on their bodies, drying them out and giving them a slight chill. But they would soon warm one another up.
Afterward, they would gather their clothes up, get dressed and return home. Things would have been different between the two of them then. Of course,
how could they not be? And perhaps that was why ultimately. Nothing had happened. He didn't want things to be different. He wanted things to carry on as they had been. He was torn between wanting her and wanting life to carry on as it had been - nice and simple without any potential complications. Sometimes he wondered if he shouldn't be so reluctant. Maybe he should embrace the idea of complications. Maybe they were just a small price to pay for real happiness.
As usual, he found himself thinking about it far too much, and as usual, he found it almost impossible to think of anything else.
He stopped suddenly and looked around. He realized he had got slightly lost. Or, rather, he had strayed slightly from the path that he had intended to take. He wasn't exactly lost, as he was sure that he know how to loop back around. He could have just turned straight round and retraced his steps, but he thought it would be more fun to try this new path. He had plenty of time and the weather was still good, so he kept going.
After a while, he spotted something that he hadn't expected.
There, right at the side of the path, was a log cabin. Max stopped and looked at it, scowling with slight confusion. He had never heard of any cabins out here. Was he, in fact, lost? No, he was sure that wasn't the case. He shrugged his shoulders. After all, maybe it wasn't really so surprising that he didn't know about every single cabin out here in the woods. However, he was now very curious about this place.
He noticed that some smoke was coming out of the chimney. This meant that someone had to be in. Acting on the spur of the moment, he decided to knock on the door and say hello to whoever was in there.
He was feeling slightly cautious as he headed to the door. He was imagining some grizzled old hunter, or some hermit-like woodsman, who might not take too kindly to a stranger knocking on the door. He promised himself that if anything seemed off or even just a little bit suspicious when he knocked on the door he would get out of there as quickly as possible.
The place looked nice, however. Homely.
There were certainly no signs of anything suspicious. No shotguns leaning up against the door or anything like that.
He got to the door and paused for a moment before knocking. He thought that he heard a woman's voice inside. He smiled to himself. So this was probably a family place. He wasn't sure if he should disturb them but his curiosity got the better of him. He really wanted to know some more about this place, and he had plenty of time before he had to head back. A part of him thought that maybe it was fate that had made him go slightly off course and that he would find something - or someone - interesting here.
He knocked on the door. He heard voices inside - low, almost whispering. They went back and forth and then one of them sounded as though it was closer to the door. "No, trust me," he heard the woman's voice say, "it'll be fine."
The other voice said something that he couldn't hear, and then he heard the door open. He stepped back as it was opened and then saw a woman emerge from the dimness within.
As she stepped into the light, Max felt the breath catch in his throat. This woman was stunning - a vision. She was short with a beautiful, tanned face. Her hair was long and blonde, her eyes big and blue. She had full, red lips.
She was wearing a plaid work shirt and denim shorts. She looked as though she had an incredible figure. The shorts showed off her toned, tanned legs and the shirt clung to her voluptuous breasts.
