Chapter 174
Chapter 174
Ximena
“Rest in pieces, uncle,” those were my final words as I dug my claws deeper with Sonia’s deafening scream in the air. I felt the surge of great power transfer into my body. I closed my eyes, taking in every bit of it, feeling my father's strength surge through my veins.
“Ah,” I let out an audible sigh, dropping Vicenzo's lifeless body on the ground, which had already turned black indicating the drain of strength from his body. I turned to Sonia, who was still held down by Carley's minions; I gave a light nod that made her release her from her grip.
She laid there with tears in her eyes before rushing to her mate's lifeless body, mumbling some words under her breath.
“You're not going to go scot-free with this!!” She sneered at me.
“I already am, Sonia,” I replied with a grin on my face.
“I'm going to come for you, Ximena; I'm going to come bigger than this,” she fired at me.
“Please… don't make me regret sparing your life and the life of the seed growing inside you.” I retorted.
“You…” she tried to speak.
“One more word from you, Sonia, just one more fcking word,” I sneered through gritted teeth, grabbing her cheeks tightly, staring at her with fury in my eyes. “One more word, and trust me when I say I won't hesitate to rip your throat out right here, right now,” I added sternly, making her go mute as she just stared at me, her scent reeking terribly with fear.
I snapped my hands off her face as I stood tall, staring down at her. “You know it's terribly amazing how blind love can be, you know.” I paused for a while. “So amazing that you still love my uncle so much—this much. The same man who cheated on you even while married to you with my aunt Aruka due to her own desperation for a hybrid,” I said.
The look on her face the minute I said those words immediately changed as she stared at me with creased brows, giving me all the information I needed: that she knew nothing about this. “You have no idea about this, now do you?” I asked, but she just stayed mute.
“Right… that's because you weren’t supposed to know about any of it, right? I mean, where's the fun in all of it?” I added, shrugging my shoulders lightly.
“You're just a terrible liar, IRL!! That's all you are!!” She spat at me.
“Oh, of course, you don't believe me,” I began. “Maybe you should ask him instead.” I paused for a while. “Oh, wait a minute. Oops…. He's dead,” I added with mockery in my voice. “Now leave!!” I added sternly, my eyes glowing in their colors. “Get out before I change my mind!!” I snarled at her.
Just then I turned my gaze to the other alphas, whose armies were still struggling with mine, fighting for survival as spells and magic flew in the air, taking down my enemies.
“That's enough, Rogan,” I ordered, making all my armies stop their attack as they all walked behind me, leaving me with just the soldiers and Alphas, all staring at me in a defensive mode.
“Well, well, well, if it isn't the twenty rebel alphas.” I said, clapping my hands as I stared at them.
The tension in the air increased as they all stared at me, some with defiant eyes and some with fear in their eyes, while their Luna - their Luna kept giving me pleading eyes, asking for forgiveness.
“You know it's kinda funny how the majority of you all here were actually present at every pack celebration my father held. Funny how you came to drink and merry with him for every celebration we had, every battle fought, every war won, and ended up still being the same people who brought him down to his knees,” I said, my voice cutting through the thick silence in the air.
“There’s no need to plead to me right now, my dear Lunas, because before I came here, I'd already shed every form of sympathy I should have. So right now, it’s the no mercy mood I'm in, and if you continue giving me those pleading eyes, I won’t hesitate to render your cubs and packs orphans, just as you all did to me,” I spat out sternly, making them all bow their heads in shame.
“So,” I continued, “since your sins aren't as great as my uncle's, who's currently dead, I'd let you all decide what your punishment should be, because I remember during that fight you murdered all my dad’s strongest soldiers, and right now all of you are going to pay for every single bloodshed years ago,” I said.
“She really thinks she's wise now, huh?” one of the Lunas whispered.
“She thinks she's won; she just doesn't know what's coming for her yet. I can’t wait for Aruka’s arrival; she's definitely not going to know what hit her,” another replied.
I smiled lightly, bowing my head as I laughed at their stupidity. I raised my gaze to meet theirs. “So, you all really aren’t ready to give up now, are you? Even when your leaders, or should I say pioneers, are dead?” I asked with furrowed brows.
“We're going to fight until our last breath; over my dead body will I let you rule my pack,” one of the alphas shot at me as he kept raising his gaze upwards, as if expecting something.
“Okay then, over your dead body shall it be,” I replied with a grin on my face, which made everywhere go silent, as if death itself had exhaled.
“Why are all your faces like that?” I asked, feigning confusion. “You all look like you're waiting for something, or should I say someone?” I asked, my voice barely audible.
I watched them calmly. Gently. As they all batted their eyelids, forcing a lump down their throats as they stared at me. “Aha,” I exclaimed softly, “I almost forgot. I brought you all a present,” I said, turning my gaze to one of my soldiers and giving him a light nod.
He let out a light smile before coming back minutes later with a package, throwing it at them. Aruka’s head came into light, her eyes blood red in the open due to the pain I made sure she went through before her death. The scent of the hall immediately took another turn, making all the alphas and their Lunas scream in fear.
“What's wrong?” I asked with furrowed brows. “I believe she's the one you all are expecting, am I correct?” I said, my voice laced with venom as I spoke. “Now I want this to be as quick as possible. How the hell do you all want to die, because the grace for punishment is over for wasting my damn time!!” I sneered.
Just then, the door to the hall burst open revealing Carmine, Steven, and some other men dressed in soldier uniforms. “Ohhh, I see you're doing quite a good job already here, my love,” Carmine said the minute he got to me, placing a light kiss on my lips.
“I see you aren’t doing badly yourself either,” I replied with a smile.
“Not quite, I still don't know where the rest of my pack is. Steven only knew the whereabouts of the soldiers and not the pups, men, women, and the others, so I was wondering if you could help me with that?” He said.
“Sure,” I replied, turning my gaze to the alphas. “Anyone care to say something?” I asked, making a fireball with my hands ready to strike. “Anyone?” I added with a stern voice, lunging my attack but missing on purpose, making them all scream in fear. “I'm not going to miss the second time,” I sneered through gritted teeth.
“Please, please, don't kill us. We distributed the people amongst ourselves; Alpha Dani took the omegas before she was obsessed with finding the one who gave her the scar on her face,” one of the Lunas blurted out.
“Oh, is that so?” I said, turning to Dani, who was still seated with her mate and her mouth mute, making rumbling sounds. “And the others?” Carmine’s voice cut through the silence.
“Vincenzo took the betas and young pup soldiers while others are currently on a carriage to our respective packs,” she replied.
“Wow, so of all things, you all chose to sell my people amongst yourselves and make them slaves?” Carmine asked in disbelief. “You all must pay for this, all of you!” He growled.
“What would you like me to do with them then?” I asked, cutting in sharply. “That's what I was trying to decide before you came in,” I added.
“Can you make them slaves?” He asked with a stern voice.
'Hmm… That should be easy; all I have to do is strap them of their powers and voilà, they are all yours,” I replied, grinning from ear to ear.
“Make sure they suffer while at it. You can make hers more painful if you wish,” he said, pointing in Dani's direction with venom in his voice.
“Your wish is my command, my lord,” I said, bowing lightly as I watched him leave the hall with some soldiers going after his people.
