Chapter 148: Distraction
[Gideon].
I am back in our room when Evander rushes in and kisses me, pushing me against the wall with more passion than I’ve felt from him since Rosie disappeared. I let myself fall into it, savoring the feel of his hands on my arms as he traps them above my head, pinning me in place as he devours my lips.
“Evander,” I whimper. “What is it? Why are you...?”
“Less talking,” he insists, removing my glasses and setting them on the nightstand next to us. "Just let me have this. Let me love you."
He begins to push me down onto the bed and I stop him, placing a hand on his chest. As much as I want this man, as much as he has always driven all of my senses insane, something doesn’t feel right. This doesn’t feel like him.
“Evander what are you doing?" I am trembling with passion, my hand shaking as I reach up to touch his beautifully sculpted cheeks. "I want you, I want you so badly, but not like this. Not until you tell me what is going on. Is it Rosie? Did she...”
“You could say it has to do with her yes,” he admits as he tries again to kiss me. I push him back a little harder. Looking down at my hands, his face falls. “Don’t you want me?” he looks crestfallen. Worse, he looks like the world might end if he doesn't take me right now on this bed.
“Of course I do,” I answer without hesitation. "But not like this. Tell me truly, Evander," I invoke an old tradition, one that forces him to be honest--I ask him a direct question. “Why are you trying to get me to have sex with you at this moment?”
The fae do not lie. They can skirt around the truth, and they can tell you a half-truth, but they cannot lie. Especially when asked a direct question. "I am worried about you and Rosie. I want to keep you safe."
"By loving me?”
“Exactly,” he nods. And then pauses, his expression serious. "But I also miss you, Gideon. More than I have words to express. You just need to trust me right now. I cannot tell you more, but I will soon." He looks away for a moment but then turns back to me giving his full attention. He looks close to crying, which stops my heart.
What is he so afraid of?
"Do you trust me," His thumb rubs lazy circles on my rear as his shaft rests gently near my opening. He is such a gorgeous man. I've lusted after him as a friend for so long that I still have a hard time remembering that he is mine now, that he chose to marry me on the same day that we also married her--our beautiful wife Rosalynd.
He reaches his hands around my hips, placing his soft fingertips into the waistband of my pants, unbuckling them so that he ca n caress my most sensitive parts. I close my eyes, overwhelmed with sensation.
"Do you trust me to keep you safe, Gideon?” his voice is barely above a whisper as he rings my shaft, his hand moving slowly up and down.
“I trust you with all my heart,” and I do, I always have.
“Then let me love you." He walks us back towards the bed and my knees buckle as my calves hit the mattress. "Let me make love to you.”
This time I do not resist when he lowers me to the bed. I know that there must be more that he isn’t saying, but I also don’t really care as much as I should. I miss them both so badly. I miss Rosie, and I also miss Evander, who hasn’t touched me once since she disappeared, not because he doesn’t care, but because he cares too much.
Our hands flutter quickly over the surface of each other's bodies. Soon we are both nude and ready, our clothes on the floor like scattered petals, our eyes hazy with lust. I will never tire of the way he looks at me, cherishing me with his gaze.
He flips me over, and I grab a pillow to better angle my hips and give him full access to me. He doesn’t leave me waiting for long before I feel him prepping my opening with his moisture and slowly easing his way in, one inch at a time. I bite my lip to keep from calling out from the exquisite pain of feeling all of him encased within me as my body relaxes around his girth.
“I love you, Gideon.” My husband whispers in my ear, his heart beating against my back as he covers me with his torso, wrapping his arms around my chest in a tight embrace. “I have loved you since the first day I saw you in the library. My beautiful," He kisses a trail down my spine as he pulls out of me, "handsome,” I can feel that just the tip of him is still inside me, wet with precum, which he uses to tease my edges, lubricating my entrance while whispering, "lover," like a promise and a prayer.
He then slams into me with so much force that I scream his name as I grab the sheets tightly in my fists. "Evander!"
I never want this feeling to stop. I want to belong to this man for eternity.
"Stay with me, Gideon," he begs as we move together, our bodies melding into one. "Don't you dare leave me."
"Evander...ah..."
"Say you'll stay with me!" he demands. "You won't let him win, damn it. You won't let that bastard win."
"I will fight for us," I scream as I push my hips into him with as much force as his thrusts. He pulls me into him. as he grabs my shaft and begins to pump rapidly, his thrusts becoming more frantic.
As he pours his love inside of me I spill mine all over the pillow and onto my chest. Collapsing in a heap, I feel his tears as he pulls out of me.
"Evander," I reach up to wipe the tears from his face. "Please tell me what's wrong. I don't understand I..."
"This," he bites his thumb and then reaches toward my forehead.
Something inside me clicks into action. Something lurking. Something that is not me.
"NO!!!" I roar as the blood touches my skin. My body begins to buck on the bed as if held in place by invisible hands.
Evander just cast a blood spell. A powerful spell. Powerful enough to trap a Fae prince.
"I won't let him have you," Evander promises.
And then looking into my eyes he looks past me, to him.
"I am coming for you, you warlock son-of-a-bitch and I'm taking my wife back."
"Come and get me, Your Majesty," Vincent sneers, using my mouth as his. "But you better hurry before your luck runs out."
Moving the pillows aside, he readjusts my body and covers my nakedness.
"I love you, husband." As he walks away from me I scream his name.
He doesn't stop.
In my mind, Vincent shows me the horrors he has in store, I am frozen, unable to do anything to stop him.
