Chapter 39 Crossing boundaries
Lilac did not realize when they had arrived their destination until they were in the secluded safe.
"Mr Black, please note, as of this moment, the owner of the deposit box has been had given consent of a withdrawal, but there are monitors on this safe and tied accounts for when anything moved. You probably have five minutes," the man said a left them inside..
Eric quickly unlocked the box while Lilac paused then hurried after him.
"Wait, tied accounts? Those accounts are mine, right?" She asked and he nodded.
"Then, can I make a withdrawal?" Lilac asked.
"Yes, of course. It depends on how fast you can fill a form,"he answered.
"I can do it with my eyes closed," Lilac said and he nodded. Within two minutes she had filled the form the man handed to her and returned it to him.
"Alright. The transfers will be made," he said and Lilac hurried back to the safes in a panic. They did not have much time left. She understood the man's warnings. As long as the accounts are accessed, someone will know.
"Don't be so panicked, you will be fine," Eric said as he took out the contents of the box.
"How is any of the procedure in this bank Legal?" Lilac asked.
"It is, if all parties agreed to it," Eric said as he put everything into the box the bank provided him. Lilac thought he was right. Bt it meant her grandfather allowed others watch these accounts. But he was long dead. Could anyone still be trusted? She did not believe they could.
"It is still unusual to happen, right?" Lilac asked incredulously.
"Everything can be negotiated if you know where to go little Lawyer. We should go," Eric said, shutting the suit case and dragging Lilac out of the bank.
From how fast he was walking, Lilac knew trouble was not far. And her premonition came true as Eric dragged her, slamming to the car, when a bullet flew over his head shattering the tail light of a car parked on the other side.
Lilac felt Eric pull her down as something exploded. Pain instantly spread through her hands. She had been burned. The next second, Eric dragged her forward.
"Jump darling," Eric said, pulling Lilac towards the Maybach and almost threw her in.
Eric opened the car door and dashed in, landing on top Lilac, who groaned at the sudden weight that slammed down on her. Lilac felt pain peirce under her left breast. Her eyes watered from the sudden pain. She was sure she had slammed into something when she jumped.
The car pulled away in a hurry and Lilac tried to crawl out from under Eric in the small space of the back seat.
"Keep you head down," Eric ordered, pushing Lilac back down.
"Loose them," Eric instructed the driver as the car swayed.
"We are almost at the meeting point," the driver answered as the car dipped into the tunnels.
"You are much lighter than I expected. Do you not eat?" Eric asked and Lilac looked at him as though he had two heads. She barely slept these days, talk less eating. But what sort of conversation was he throwing out at this moment?
"Is that the our problem at this moment?" Lilac asked.
"Well, on the positive, you would be easy to carry," Eric answered and Lilac suddenly felt the position they were in was wrong. Eric' gaze seemed more heated than usual.
Lilac was not sure how long they had been in that position. The sound of gun shots had long been left behind, yet Eric kept her pinned under him.
"Are you going o get off now?" Lilac asked and Eric looked away and slowly got off her.
As he made to get up, his hands brushed between Lilac's side and Lilac let out a pain groan.
"Are you injured? Did I injured you?" Eric asked, looking down at Lilac's hand placed under her breast as Lilac sat up straight. Finally able to breathe, Lilac did not bother to respond. She did not want to have this conversation with him.
Eric immediately reached to grab between Lilac's waist but she quickly held his hands.
"What the hell?" Lilac exclaimed.
"Take it out of your shirt, so I can check," Eric said.
"Check what? Are you crazy?" Lilac shouted in horror.
"It seems you have hurt your chest. Why are you making a fuss? Or should I take it off myself?" Eric asked.
"No! I am not hurt. Let go!" Lilac protested.
"Are you sure?" Eric asked. It was clear he said not believe a word Lilac said.
"Yes. Since I am done with my end of the deal, can I go now?" She asked Eric.
Eric sneered and dragged her closer in one motion, he snaked his way under her shirt.
"What the fuck?" She asked and he pinned her down and traced his hand over her skin. When hisnhabd reached her side, Lilac winced.
At that moment, there was a knock on the car window. Only then did Lilac realized they had come to a stop and the driver had stepped out. Eric let go and Lilac escaped far away.
Eric lowered the glass and the driver whispered words Lilac could not catch.
"Well, It seems we now know who was watching that account and wanted us dead," Eric said, "I guess it was pretty obvious."
"Who?" Lilac asked.
"Your grandmother," Eric answered before winding up the glass and staring Lilac down. Before lilac could process what was happening, he spoke again.
"Strip. now!" He ordered.
