Chapter 36 Eric's Anger

Chapter 36 Eric's Anger
Lilac did not care what Eric wanted. She was tired and done.
"Let me off here," she said and Eric raised a brow.
"Let me off!" Lilac exploded and begun kicking at the driver's seat. Eric had never seen her go off this way before. He immediately grabbed her and tried to calm her.
"Alright, alright!" He agreed. Only then did the driver stop the car. She opens the door and walked out into the night. Eric watched her walk away and enter a subway station before he told the driver to drive.
He was still going over to her place, so it did not matter if they went there separately. But he had not even finished the thought when a large car slammed into his.
Lilac on tbe other hand, got off the train and walked home. She got to her penthouse house and immediately rushed to the bathroom and tore off her red suit and took a long shower.
In the shower, Lilac thought long and hard. She recalled in her past life, Eric did get hurt around this time. It was as though everything was happening whether she changed it or not. Just as the thought tore through her, trying to tear her down, lilac shook her head.
"No! A lot has changed. I never got arrested! I can still change things!" She insisted to herself. She had managed to change the results of the family cruise, and being arrested on a boat. She had managed to make the black Family loose their bid. She just needed to be more confident as she sabotaged Eric.
Suddenly, she recalled the bodies in the crates and trembled. Yes, she had definitely considered using her memories to sabotage the Black family enough to force Eric to divorce her. But the events of this night was like a bolt from the heavens that arrived just in time to wake her up. Who did she think she was dealing with? The black family would definitely kill her.
She recalled her last memory of her past life. Eric had used her till she had nothing. Only then did he dump her. But he did dump her eventually. She had no memory of him killing her. Lilac had thought it through. She finished her shower and stepped out. All she needed to do was wait. If he could get what he wanted faster, he would let her go faster.
She dressed and stepped out of her room. She made herself dinner and sat down in the living room to eat. Soon, it begun to rain.
Lilac huddled under a thick blanket hiding from the cold. The air conditioner blasted cold wind into the room as though trying to compete with the storm raging outside her window.
The low noise from the TV soon lulled her to sleep. It was deep into the night when Lilac opened her eyes again. The room was dark and the TV had gone off, and the storm outside had long calmed down.
Lilac raised her head and froze the next second when Lilac realized she was sleeping on someone's lap. She was not alone.
"Is sleeping beauty awake?" The man in the dark asked, his large frame filling up the couch.
Lilac looked up at a strong jawline and trembled. It was no stranger. It was Eric. He placed hand his arm around her. Adrenaline rushed through Lilac's veins, allowing her to struggle wildly in Eric’s grip.
But it made no difference. Lilac had always prided herself to be calm enough to think clearly, but she was not ag this moment. Fear filled her and she thrashed around wildly. But her protest could not escape Eric's steel grip.
She thought to scream. But the next second, Eric had a hand over her mouth.
“If you promise not to scream, I will let you go. Can you do that?” he asked, and Lilac nodded quickly. She could hear a dangerous edge in Eric's voice. It was nothing she had ever heard. It made her heart hammer in fear.
“I will put a bullet in your little head if you make a fuss or run; You won’t do that right?” he asked again, and Lilac froze at the realization that Eric was armed. She nodded frantically. Was he going to kill her finally? Was it because of what she saw tonight? Lilac's head was filled with questions.
“Now be good and go turn on the lights,” he said, letting go of Lilac.
Lilac carefully got off him and walked backwards to the switch on the wall. She quickly turned the light on, illuminating the entire sitting room.
As the lights snapped on, the view of Eric came into his sight. His frame filled the room. His dress shirt clung to his large frame, he was wearing it when she had returned from Madam Lee's mansion. He had tussled back hair that sat just below his shoulder. He leaned back on the couch fixing Lilac a cold stare.
Lilac's eyes quickly found a gun resting on the side table beside him and she froze.
"How did you get in here?" Lilac asked. her eyes darted around the room looking to find where Eric had entered from but could not find anything out of place. It was as though Eric appeared out of thin air.
“Sit,” he motioned to the couch beside him, and Lilac hesitated under his icy stare.
Lilac knew better than to argue, so she took a sit.
"What do you want?" Lilac asked.
"Who do you work for Lilac? Or should I say, whose family have you made a deal with?" Eric asked and Lilac frowned. Was he implying that she was some traitor? Sure, she was not loyal to his family, but to suggest she was working with other people, made Lilac's stomach drop. She recalled she had been framed for the wedding long ago, was she being framed again?
"Or have you sided with your family? You know it is only a matter of time before I deal with them after that fiasco on the ship, right?" Eric asked and Lilac frowned at the mention of her family.
"I have nothing to do with them!" Lilac quickly declared.
"You are still their daughter. I heard you also went to see them tonight. Explain, what did you talk about?" Eric asked.
"You can ask the entire restaurant if you want, we had a major fight. Lilac I said, don't have anything to do with them, so, if they did anything to you, deal with them. What did you want with me?" Lilac asked.
"Yet, my whereabouts which other people should not have their hands on, happens to be spreading like gossip," Eric said.
Lilac's frown deepened. What did this have to do with her? Was he blaming her for him getting shot today? How did he always find ways to blame her for everything?
"Why would I, of all people know anything about you? Have your medication gotten to you, so your brain is glitchy? We are merely married on paper, so how could I possibly know anything about your whereabouts to share with others?" Lilac asked.
"Yet you knew the bid numbers I had not revealed omto any other person? Lilac, if you do not explain clearly how you can about those numbers, I will put a bullet in your head right now," Eric declared.
