Chapter 35 Mrs Black
Lilac froze up as Madam Lee broke into mad laughter.
"It's really them," she said to wolf, then gestured for him to hand her a weapon.
"Quick, clean up his face, so I can see," she ordered her men as Wolf put a Glock in her hand.
A wet rag was quickly brought over and blood cleaned off one of the faces of those in the crates.
"Well, Isn't it Alexander?" Madam Lee said closing in on thenaked man's face.
"I did say I will get you here," she said through her teeth, yet joy could be heard from her voice.
"Quick! Find which one is the son!" She rose up and ordered. The men worked quickly and opened several crates.
"Here. This one," someone quickly announced
Alexander's son was quickly found.
"Drag him up, Wolf! I want that bastard to see!" She ordered as she marched up to the crate holding Alexander's son.
Wolf dragged naked Alexander out of the crate and held him up. Madam Lee smiled at the son in the crate, pointed her gun at him and emptied the magazine.
Alexander's painful grunt and moans could be heard pouring out of the ragg in his mouth muffling his screams.
Madam Lee looked very satisfied. She finally had time to look at the frozen Lilac.
"I like Marcus' gift," she said to her, then nodded to one of her men, to whisper a few orders.
Lilac could not believe what she wa looking at. She tied hard to keep her hands from shaking. Why was she here? What was all this? She had never been involved in Eric's business before, and never thought it would take this dark turn.
Madam Lee nodded slowly with a pleased smile. “Of course. Eric knows how to give amazing gifts. Let me have someone retrieve that for you.” She turned to a staff member. “Go get package 24 for Mrs. Black immediately.”
"And the payment?" She asked as the staff hurried away.
Lilac didn’t respond. She was too stunned to speak, so she glanced at Wolf. The bodyguard, Wolf opened a small box, revealing diamonds inside.
Madam Lee’s eyes lit up happily at the sight of the diamonds. “Ah, excellent. A suitable payment.”
Just then, the staff member returned looking flustered. “Madam Lee…package 24 was sold already. To Liu Xiang. Without your permission.”
There was a tense pause as the temperature in the room dropped dangerously. Lilac became apprehensive.
Madam Lee’s face darkened with anger. “Who sold it?” she demanded.
The staff looked like he would fain from her stare. “L-Liu Xiang, Madam. He took it upon himself…”
Madam Lee’s eyes narrowed to slits. “Bring him here. Now.”
Soon, a sma man was dragged into the room by her henchmen and thrown at Lilac’s feet. “Please, Mrs. Black, Madam Lee, I’m so sorry!” he stuttering. “I didn’t think-“
Lilac stared straight ahead, not even glancing at the groveling man. She did not dare look. She had hatched enough moves to know what was going to happen next.
Madam Lee looked at her apologetically. “Forgive this foolishness, Mrs. Black. We will retrieve package 24 for you immediately.”
She nodded at her thugs, who seized the man again. One of them drew a large knife. Lilac watched blankly as the thug hacked the screaming man’s arm off in one stroke, spraying blood across the floor.
She did not want to watch, but her eyes could not look away. Lilac almost felt that she was having an out of body experience and wa snot really there.
It took every fiber of Lilac’s being not to recoil in horror. Wolf noticed this and frowned. “Madam Lee, do not spill blood in front of the lady," he said to madam Lee. Lilac did not even realize wolf was referring to her until Madam Lee looked up and stared at her. They all noticed Lilac had gone pale.
"Can we be done with this?” she asked Madam Lee as evenly as she could muster.
“Please forgive the mess, Mrs. Black,” Madam Lee said quickly, signaling for the maimed, groaning man to be removed. “Let’s get you that package right away.”
Soon, a large metal case was brought before them. Madam Lee opened it herself. Lilac did not even dare to look into another row of crates. She rested her eye son a vase and kept it there.
Wolf instead stepped forward professionally to inspect the goods, nodding in satisfaction after his examination. He gave Lilac a slight nod signalling that they could leave. It was as though she had been released from hell, as Lilac nodded hoping to leave quickly.
“We’ll take our leave then,” Lilac told Madam Lee. She led the way out, Miss Bruhm and the bodyguards following with the illicit package in tow.
Outside, their car was idling with Eric waiting inside. Lilac got into the passenger seat next to him.
“I expect my five million payment now that the job is done,” she stated.
Eric raised an eyebrow quizzically at Wolf, who nodded. “We got package 24, boss.”
Eric couldn't care less about the package, of course he knew they had gotten it. That was not what bothered him.
"Why is she shaking?" Eric asked Wolf and he paused, realizing what Eric was really interested in.
"Oh, Madam Lee had Alexander's son killed the moment she saw him and hacked off someone's hand. It seems someone tried to use the back door to get the good before you arrived. I suspect they're were the once who attacked tonight," Wolf gave a short report.
Lilac stared out the window, not bothering to look at Eric.
"Handle the rest," Eric said to wolf before adressing the driver, "take us to her penthouse."
Only after the car had started moving, did he pass Lilac a handkerchief, but she did not take it, so he put his hand down.
"After a you get home, I will run you a bath. It will help you calm down," he said and Lilac threw him a sharp glare before realizing what he had just said.
"You are not going home with me," Lilac declared.
"Of course I have to. You were right, Lilac. Everyone but you benefits from our marriage. The man you through overboard the family cruise has not been identified. Someone could infiltrate our family's security and even know where I was going today, setting a trap on the way for me. At home, I have a thousand staff, in your apartment, there is only you. So, I will consider for the first time in my life that you had no hand in what happened before our marriage and trust you. When all these is resolved, I will give you that divorce," Eric declared.
Lilac felt as tough she had just heard a lot of rubbish. "Then I should be grateful for your pardon, Mr Black" she sneered.
