Chapter 69

Ayzel kept herself locked in her bedroom for two days. Along with her little Farheen also endured imprisonment. Jojo was providing them with meals. Aliya Khanum left with Watrda after two days. But she had already told her grandson next time she wanted a serious end to his wedding or any result leading to the separation of Zain and Ayzel. She won't let Ayzel her wife anymore. She wanted Zain to close the chapter of Ayzel and start a new beginning with a decent woman.

Zain had very little time. In such a short period he needed a miracle to make Ayzel stay. Because he knew more than his grandmother, Ayzel wanted to leave him.

"Jojo For whom you are making coffee?" Ayzel asked Jojo. She just came into the kitchen.

"Burhan Sir has come. He is talking to Mr. Zain in the garden. I am making it for them." Jojo placed the cups on the tray.

Ayzel had been missing Burhan for many days. So, she decided to serve the coffee to them. She was in the corridor when he heard Burhan speaking. He was in anger.

"Ghattita pan ki ek haad huti hai, Zain Skinder." His voice was not calm.

(Cheapness had a limit, Zain Skidner)

"You did not forgive my sister for her innocent sin and mistake. But your killer sister is moving here and there freely without any guilt. Because she is YOUR SISTER! That vile woman bribed Ricky to trap Ayzel and I am sure she is the one who hired the sniper to shoot Ayzel. You thought I wouldn't find out about it. I won't let her go easily!" Burhan was yelling.

Ayzel could not believe her ears. She froze there.

"She accepted she bribed Ricky. But there is no proof that she hired the sniper. I know what sin she has done. But I am helpless burhan. I wanted to do worse on her but she would drag grandmother and her trauma into it. She will question our justice regarding her biological mother. Things would go more ugly." Zain's voice was teary.

"Ahan-Ha! You are helpless to punish your sister but you were not when you were torturing poor Ayzel. You coward! You did not even tell her the truth. But I will tell her the truth. Now, she will decide, as you promised." Burhan threatened him.

"BURHAN! I dare you to do this. You were not nicer to her in the first place. Were not you the one who told me to get rid of that vile woman? You called her names as well. If she is back with you on nice terms it does mean you are the hero of her life. Your earlier emotions for her would be exposed to her as well." Zain knew how to have the upper hand.

Ayzel could not stand there anymore. She placed the tray on the side table and rushed to her bedroom. She locked herself. She was crying hugging her knees.

"Cruel people! They all are cruel people, Ya Allah. Allah, I am alone here. I have no one! I am alone. No one is there for me. They all are selfish... Wherever I had gone, my life got scattered. These Skidners are selfish and kill.." She was sobbing and hiccuping. Zain knew the truth but did not even try to tell her once. Burhan knew the truth as well. But instead of telling her, he was seeking Zain's permission. And now he won't tell her either.

But Burhan was still arguing with Zain and Ayzel missed that part.

"Yes! I want you to leave her. But you know why? Because divorce would have saved her from your cruelty. But Cruelty was already done with her. Isn't it? Celebrate it." Burhan was in tears. Azyel's past was no more secret to him.

"Live with your, Sister. And I will be with my sister. She will get justice this time. I will afford her anger but I will make sure she won't stay with you anymore. You don't deserve her. I will become the strength of my sister." Burhan promised. He was not going down this time. Zain was in more trouble, now.

"Jojo yr, where is my coffee? I have asked you hours ago?" Burhan was complaining to Jojo.

"Aa-Aa. But Ayzel took the coffee from me. She said she would serve you. Did not she?" Jojo was surprised too.

Strange! Both thought.

Ayzel remained silent throughout the day. She was not talking to Burhan. He felt it immediately. She was giving him the cold shoulder. He tried his best to engage her in playful talk but she remained stoic.

"Yr Ayzo! What happened now? Did Zain or Dadi Jaan say something? Please talk to me. I am your brother. Don't give me that angry bird face." Burhan pouted.

"Mr. Burha. It would prefer to be called Ayzel, not Ayzo. I am the servant of this house and you are the brother of the house owner. Things should be professional between us. If you have a work for me, only call me then. And it clear the misunderstanding that I am your sister or you are my brother." Ayzel threw the tablecloth and was about to leave.

"Just tell me who has brainwashed you against me! It must be Zain or Dadi Jaan. They must have told you to say this to me! Right?" Burhan was shocked too.

But Ayzel did not respond to him. He called her back many times. But nothing. He stayed for two days in Zain'mansion but all in vain.

***********

Zain was feeling stomach trouble at late night, and food poisoning. He had just eaten from the vendor. But could not digest it. He could not understand what to do, so he called Ayzel through the intercom.

"Ayzel...please come..I need help." He said in his hoarse voice clutching himself. He did not listen to her next words. Ayzel sensed from his voice that he was not fine. Leaving sleeping Farheen, she went to Zain's room.

She helped him.

"Zain, I think we should go to the hospital or can we call the doctor here?" She worried for him. He was getting a fever as well.

"Call..doctor.." He unlocked and forwarded his phone to her. She was not taking it.

"Ayzel, please.." Due to pain, his eyes were closed. Finally, she took the phone and called the doctor after finding his number.

The doctor arrived after half an hour. He attached IV to Zain. The doctor prescribed some medicine and precautions to Ayzel. Osama was not at home, so Ayzel could not ask him to stay with Zain the whole night. Even Saleem brought the doctor inside Zain's room.

"Saleem Bhai, can you stay with him?" Ayzel hoped for a yes.

"I am sorry, Maam. I have night duty at the gate. Kaleem is also on leave. I have left Gardner at the gate." He apologized.

"It's okay." Ayzel gave her a rueful smile.

She sat beside him on the chair. He was clutching her hand like a baby. Helpless Ayzel stayed with him the whole night.

Zain was opening his eyes slowly. He noticed Ayzel's hand in his grip. He remembered the last night. Her back must be in pain due to staying on the chair the whole night. She was sleeping in a very uncomfortable position. He felt very bad for her.

"Zain My Son!" Aliya's sudden entrance woke Ayzel from her sleep. She immediately stood up and gave space to them. But the manner she stood up, told she was caught red-handed with a random guy.

"My son! Are you fine? The doctor told me you were sick last night." Aliya was worried. She was creasing his face. On her tail, Warda, Zikria, and Burhan came too.

"I am fine, now. Dadi Jaan." He replied in a weak voice.

"What made my son sick? The doctor told me you had eaten something foul. But how? You almost eat from home." Aliya's worry was not lessening.

"Of course, a witch has mixed poison with my brother's meal," Warda said in a hated voice.

As soon the word left her mouth, Aliya's blood boiled. Without thinking wisely, Aliya slapped Ayzel. Poor girl's ear rang. Her head almost spun on it's axis.

"MOTHER! What have you done? She is still recovering from brain surgery." Zikria cried out. Burhan and Zain were shocked in their places.

"How much damage do you want to give my son? Have not you done enough already? How many worse faces of yours are left to appear?" Aliya was thundering in anger.

Ayzel stood on her ground. She lowered her hand which was placed on her hurting cheek. She straightened herself and put her eyes into Aliya's eyes.

"Aliya Khanum! I might have my own flaws. But unlike your grandson, I don't abduct an orphan and helpless girl and threaten her with her dignity to force marriage on her. Neither like your granddaughter, I tarnish the reputation and dignity of an innocent woman nor plan her murder." Today she made them silent. She left all the people standing in the room in death shock. She banged the door in their faces. Now they were left to wonder over her words.
