Daniel opens the door to the first room, and I walk in to see just how big it is. I know the property is set up as sort of a big apartment complex, but I’d never stayed in any of the rooms before. It really did look like a cozy apartment. Compared to the apartment over the bar and the place I was living, this place was huge.
“I wasn’t sure how you wanted to set up room arrangements, but we have this one and the one next door,” Daniel explained. “This is one of the two-bedroom apartments, and the same for next door. Some of us will have to bunk together.”
“Oh.” When I turn around, all the of the guys have piled in and are standing in the small living room, making it seem a lot smaller suddenly.
For Betas, these guys are pretty big.
“Uh, I’m not sure how we should do room arrangements,” I say, feeling a bit of anxiety building.
These guys are going to look to me to make decisions from now on, and I have barely been able to take care of myself up until now. How am I supposed to decide this kind of thing?
“Well, I’m sure you are going to want Noah here with you. Two more can stay in the other room, and four next door.” Daniel says.
I nod. “Right. Noah will stay with me.” I look between the guys and debate who else I want to stay with me in this apartment.
“How about we take the apartment next door?” Roman offers.
He must see that I’m having a hard time deciding.
“Yeah, besides, I’m sure you want Xander here with you so you can keep an eye on him,” Jaxon says, giving me a smile.
“Are you sure you’re okay with that?” I ask them.
Jaxon and Roman say they are, but I see that Ezra doesn’t seem too keen. Maybe he doesn’t feel right not having Noah with him.
“Noah is safe here with me, I promise,” I say, hoping to calm whatever worry he has, but he only looks at me for a long moment and turns around to leave.
“We know. I’ll go grab our bags.” Roman says, following Ezra out.
“Once we’re settled, we can talk about everything,” Jaxon says.
“Of course.”
He smiles again and leaves.
There’s only silence when the door closes, and I almost forget that I’m not alone. It isn’t until a hand slides along my waist that I remember that Daniel is here with me still.
“Let me show you your room.” He says softly against my ear.
I shiver at the sensation. After my time with Noah, I still feel…stimulated. Pushing that aside, the best I can, I let Daniel lead me into the first bedroom. He turns the light on, and my mouth drops open a little.
“Oh my god! What is that?” I ask.
He chuckles. “The biggest bed I could find. I’m not sure how the sleeping arrangements might change, so I wanted to be sure there would be plenty of room for however many guys you’d want in your bed.”
“How did you even find a bed like that? And so fast?” I ask him, walking over to the bed and pushing my hands on it to test the firmness.
Oh wow, it feels like a cloud.
“I have my ways,” Daniel says with a cheeky smile.
I sit on the bed and quickly remove my shoes. Once they’re off, I climb onto the bed and lie flat on my back like a starfish.
“Wow, this is amazing,” I say with a sigh.
Daniel laughs. “Glad you like it, princess. I leave you to get settled, and I’ll go grab Xander.”
I sit up instantly. “Where is he?” Worry claws at me.
“He’s in the lounge room. I was waiting for rooming arrangements to be settled before helping him up here.”
I’m off the bed and heading back out to the living room.
“Noah, why don’t you make yourself comfortable. We’ll be right back, man.” Daniel says behind me.
Noah’s reply is muffled by the time I’m out of the room and heading for the stairs. My mind is fixed on one thing, and that’s finding Xander and making sure he’s okay. He was supposed to have more time to heal, so I’m worried about him being alone. I know the guys would look after him, but I feel more at ease taking care of him myself. He’s mine now, and I will protect him.
When I reach the front door that opens to the main area of the building, I throw the door open and start looking around for him. The main building is a huge, wide-open area with high ceilings. There are two sitting areas with huge couches and TVs set up. Then there is a bar area with a pool table, dart board, and a bunch of other recreational games. There is a long hallway that leads toward the back of the building to the kitchen, dining hall, laundry room, and meeting room.
I spot Xander sitting in the middle of one of the couches, watching a boxing match on the TV.
“Hey, you,” I say, walking around the side of the couch and taking a seat next to him.
He turns to look at me and smiles. “Hey, beautiful. You made it.”
“I did. How about I get you up to our room so you can rest?” I ask, holding my hand out to him.
“Where will I be staying?”
“With me, of course. I want to keep an eye on you.” I stand and take his hand.
He cringes slightly when he stands, but it only lasts a second. “Did they prescribe you some pain medication?”
He nods. “Yeah, it’s some strong shit too. I might just stick with something over the counter. They said the strong stuff might cause drowsiness. I don’t want to be out of my head in case something goes down.”
“If something goes down, you’re keeping your ass inside,” Daniel says when he walks over toys.
Xander opens his mouth like he’s about to fight him, but I squeeze his hand. “He’s right. I want you to be safe. You’re already hurt.”
A thought hits me all of a sudden. If I marked Xander, would that help heal him? When I licked Noah’s mark after I bit him, it started to heal. Is there something about me that could help heal more than just a bite? I’d have to research that once we are back in our room.
Daniel and I escort Xander upstairs to our room. When we walk in, the rest of the guys are in the living room waiting. They stand when they see Xander and give him their well-wishes.
“Stay in my room for now, okay?” I tell Xander.
“I would never say no to that,” Xander says with a wide smile.
My face heats up a little. All these handsome men around are not good for my health, and soon all of these guys will be mine. How in the hell did I end up here?
