Chapter 1

" Where's your mate mommy?" the innocent golden eyes of her daughter stared at her as she asked this question.

Lylia can't help but shed a tear behind her eyelids as she remembers that hideous day she lost her mate and her daughter's father.

She look at her daughter and pulled her for a back hug as she said this:

"We'll, sometimes, there's always a reason why mate is nowhere or gone. The important thing is…. you cherish the time when your mate is still with you and you love him with all your heart as your mate loves you too."

The daughter look at her mother and smile as she said:

"I will love my future mate as much as I love you mommy ."

The mother smiled and gave her daughter a kiss on her head.

"I love you too Layla"

Layla is awakened by the sun rays hitting her skin through the window.

"Had a nice dream?" a pitch voice asked her.

She looked at the door and saw her friend Miya who's leaning at the doorway.

"Yah. Might as well a memory" she said as she sat up and rubbed her face.

"Better get up girl. We have a long journey to go." She said as she walked away.

Long journey huh? Might as well have work to do. She thought. She stands up and walks through her bathroom to clean up.

As she gets in, she faces the mirror and stares at her own reflection.

As she remembers her dream, she can't help but feel sad. As what happened to his father, also the same to her mother.

Her tears had been all drained and all left was the dull light in her eyes.

She did her morning bath and wore her usual attire.

A lacy blue dress behind her black coat and black mask.

As one of the Elders, no one under them should know their identity even the King himself. This has been authorised since the beginning.

She went out of her room and saw all the Elders had been settled at the table, having breakfast.

She takes a seat beside her best friend aka the girl from earlier.

"As everyone is here, I have an announcement which is about this new issue in our society. The Rogues have been attacking different packs and the King asks us about this, as this rogue is no ordinary, there are some which have been helping them to make their scent undetected that make it easy for them to kidnap or kill someone." the head of the Elders said and looked at everyone to present his authority.

We all nod as a response that we all understand.

" I will all assign you to a different pack to lead them on attacking these rogues. Hope you all can settle this well and all will be according to our Elders law. Hope you all understand." he said it in a hard tone.

We all nod and start to get up and get the paper we're all the info about the place where we would be assigned.

I open the folded paper and read that I'll be in the EverGreen Pack. Hmm. I must say, this would be easy, as far as I know from this pack, they are OK with Elders coming on their place. I said this because some pack doesn't really have a good impression with us "Elders". They'll assume that we are some hideous creature hiding behind a mask and coat. As if they knew, what's the reason behind this. Hate those judgemental people.

"hey! Where are you assigned?" Miya gently bumps my side to get my attention.

I let her see the paper and she reacted with awe.

"Nice. Good for you. But not for me." Then she let me see her paper.

Blood Moon Pack

" ohh.. Too bad for you but I know you can handle that. I'm just one call away whenever you need me." I said and gave him a goofy smile.

She nudged my head as I let out a little laugh.

"One call away your ass." she rolled her eyes as she mocked what I said.

"I'm serious with that bitch." I said, still grinning and pushing her a little.

"I know, I know. Wish us luck." she said as she gave me a hug before she vanished into thin air.

"Always be" I muttered.

I also teleport myself to the pack and as I expected, this place really presents green. Good thing it's pleasant in the eye.

I scanned the place and saw that the alpha was waiting at their training ground. I walk straight through him. The alpha has sensed my present and he looks at my way.

I sense his alpha authority and that pleased me. Alphas should have that.

He smiled at me as I am now in front of him.

" Good Morning. Pleasant to see one of the Elders here. This lighten our burden to see someone can help us with our problems." he said and I can see that it did lighten his eyes.

" Goodmorning. I'm glad to help. Let's proceed." I said and he nodded.

"These past days, Rogues have been attacking us in a quiet way. We can't read their moves, that's why, it's been difficult for us. 10 members had died and because of this I asked the King to help us with this situation. It surprised me to see other alphas there also. This gives me an idea that this is also happening to them. The King's idea that Elders should be the one to fix this is kinda good because of this witch helping the rogues but kinda confusing because this conflict can be easily fixed by the King himself. Still, we don't know why but it's good that you are here. Might as well we talk about the plan to solve this conflict. " he ended his long talk.

" I didn't know Alpha that you're a blubbering mess but let's proceed to the plan. I sense that tonight they will attack again, so I will put a spell within the boundary so that you can sense their presence or smell their scent so you can capture them. While me, I'll capture the witch behind them. I have a guess that there are witches that control the rogues so it means there is one in your pack. Hope so no one will die in your pack tonight and they can handle these rogues well as they will easily be noticed. " I said.

"I'll make sure that everything will be according to your plan and I really hope so.. I'll get inside and disseminate this plan."

I stayed outside as I saw him go inside in his pack house.

Someone nudged my knees so I looked down.

"Hello.. Are you a visitor?" a little kid with almond eyes asked me as she stared at me innocently.

I kneel on one knee to be in her height.

" I am, little girl. Why are you wandering around? Do you know that it's dangerous?" I said as I stared at her also.

" No. I'm not scared. I was born to be brave and be a warrior when I grow up. That's what my mom and dad said." She said with a determination

"Alice!" A woman yelled.

She ran toward us and as she was in front of us, she bowed to me.

"Glad to see you one of the Elders, I must apologise for my daughter." She said as she held the little girl's hand.

"It was fine but be always on guard. It's still dangerous." I said with authority.

"Yes Elder." she said and pulled her daughter to the pack house.

I sigh and walk around the pack boundary.

"Bitch! This alpha is so freaking arrogant. This made me think if I should help them or not. But I'll definitely go with the NOT!" Miya said in mind link.

I chuckled on what she said. Miya can really be sassy.

"You don't have a choice bitch! Just get that over tonight. That's what I actually planned." I said through the mindlink.

"Arghhh.. I'll better be eating ice cream while watching netflix after this." she said and I can sense her irritation.

"Definitely, with me bitch." I said and ended the link.

Hope this will get over soon. I just want to stay with my freaking best friend idea. Can't help but feel giddy after this.
