Chapter 58 Michael's Two Faces

Chapter 58 Michael's Two Faces

Amelia hung up the phone and noticed several people staring at her.

Michael, who overheard the call mentioning Kevin and Vaughn, furrowed his brow and asked, "What's up?"

Amelia took a deep breath, her relaxed dinner demeanor now replaced with a serious, cold expression. She repeated what Kevin had told her over the phone.

"Wait, you gave Vaughn medicine when you visited The Williams Mansion?" Chris asked, surprise evident in his eyes. "You know how to practice medicine?"

"My leg was healed by Amelia," Michael chimed in before Amelia could respond.

"And she only gave me acupuncture twice, and I was able to stand and walk."

"What?"

Everyone was stunned.

Michael had been in a wheelchair for over a decade, something everyone knew. With the Johnson family's wealth and influence, they could have easily found the best doctors and the most advanced treatments in the world. If curing his leg was simple, Michael would have been walking long ago.

But now Michael claimed that Amelia had healed his leg.

Just two acupuncture sessions had enabled a man who had been wheelchair-bound for years to walk again. This wasn't just basic medical knowledge; this was miraculous.

In the entire country, aside from the renowned but retired master healer Royce, there was likely no one else with such skill.

And this extraordinary healer was the teenage girl standing before them, which was astonishing.

Tobias thought Amelia's piano performance at the banquet and her perfect scores at Prestige High School were impressive enough.

He didn't expect she had these skills as well.

"My God," Tobias exclaimed, hugging Amelia with pride. "You're amazing! How many more surprises do you have for me?"

If these were considered surprises, Amelia thought, there were plenty more.

"But if your medical skills are so great, Amelia, why is Mr. Williams not improving and even coughing up blood and fainting?" Lila asked.

"I don't know," Amelia frowned. "I'll have to see him to find out."

"I'll go with you," Michael said. "Mr. Williams is my elder, and I should visit him as well."

"Okay," Amelia agreed.

Since this was a matter concerning the Williams family, Lila, as an outsider, didn't feel it was appropriate to get involved. So, she, Orval, and Rex excused themselves.

Amelia, Chris, and Tobias got into Michael's car, with Eric driving them towards The Williams Mansion.

[The Williams Mansion]

When Amelia and the others got out of the car, a Williams family servant was already waiting to guide them. Kevin hadn't arrived yet.

They walked through a classical garden filled with various flowers and along a cobblestone path to reach the separate courtyard where Vaughn lived.

The exterior looked the same as Amelia had seen before. The servant led them inside and went to inform the people inside that Amelia had arrived.

When the servant came back and said they could go in, Amelia walked in first.

But as soon as she stepped into the bedroom, a teacup was suddenly thrown in her direction.

"You wretch, how dare you come here?!

It was Kismet's voice, full of anger.

Amelia's expression turned stern, and she quickly dodged, but the expected sound of shattering didn’t come.

The teacup was caught by Michael, who had swiftly moved in front of her.

Amelia looked up to see that Vaughn's large bedroom was now crowded with people.

Besides Vaughn, who was lying in bed with his eyes closed, and the furious Kismet, she didn’t recognize anyone else.

"You..."

Kismet, initially enraged, was about to curse again when she saw Michael holding the teacup. Her eyes widened in shock.

Everyone in the room was equally stunned.

"Mrs. Williams, is this how the Williams family treats their guests?" Michael stood in front of Amelia, his voice icy.

His expression, once gentle towards Amelia, was now dark and intimidating.

His large hand gripped the teacup tightly, and his handsome face was covered in a chilling aura, making him look formidable.

The previously noisy room fell silent, with everyone in shock.

"Michael?"

Kismet was momentarily stunned, a flash of panic in her eyes, and then she awkwardly softened her tone. "Why didn’t the servants inform me you were coming?"

She hadn’t expected Michael to come.

She thought only Amelia would be coming, so she hadn’t looked before throwing the teacup. She didn’t expect Michael, Chris, and Tobias to be there too.

"Michael?" Next to Kismet, a well-dressed woman with a refined appearance, Anna Williams, also looked at Michael, her mouth agape in shock. "Your leg—"

Michael was here, and he was standing?

Had his leg been healed?

Anna, twenty-three, was the beloved only daughter of Vaughn's daughter, Niamh Williams, and Quentin's cousin.

Anna was the current CEO of The Williams Group, often seen online and on TV, known for her capabilities among the elite.

A year ago, she had met Michael at a business gala after returning from studying abroad and had been infatuated with him ever since. Michael had everything—looks, body, family, and status.

But Michael had been confined to a wheelchair, and despite his many qualities, Anna couldn’t marry a disabled man. So she had given up on her feelings.

But now, Michael was standing before them, his unparalleled looks and powerful presence making her heart skip a beat.

So tall, so handsome.

More handsome than any man she had ever seen.

But Michael didn’t spare Anna a glance, nor did he answer her. He coldly looked at Kismet, demanding an explanation.

Tobias, younger and more hot-tempered, couldn’t contain his anger like Michael.

Seeing Kismet throw a teacup at Amelia, Tobias was furious. "You crazy—"

Tobias was about to rush over and confront her when Amelia stopped him.

"I’m fine, Tobias, don’t be impulsive," Amelia said, glancing at Kismet.

Kismet, despite her inner corruption, always maintained a facade of dignity and grace.

For her to throw a teacup at Amelia, a guest, was not only disrespectful but also brazen.

"Mrs. Williams," Amelia stood tall, her eyes calm and composed, "I’m just a junior, and the moment I walked in, you threw a teacup at me and called me a wretch. I’d like to know what I did to deserve this?"
