Chapter 87 - CONFINEMENT

My smile widens as I feel the power flowing through me, fueled by the submission of the herd and the certainty of my next action. "We're going to find those despicable traitors. And when we find them, we will make them pay for defying my authority," I declared in a firm voice, each word resonating with a promise of unrelenting vengeance.

Tristan nods with fierce determination, his loyalty radiating like a ravenous fire in his gaze. "I stand by your side, Alpha. There will be no mercy for those who dare defy us," he replies in a firm, confident voice, ready to follow my orders to the last consequences.

As several wolves hold Sora tightly to prevent any escape attempt, I order with a curt, dismissive gesture, "Take her inside the mansion. I still have unfinished business to discuss with her." She is dragged into one of the mansion's subway cells, specifically designed to lock up individuals like her when we need to forcibly extract information.

The desire to run to Livy, fueled by my wolf's feral instinct, consumes my insides with the urge to kill all those who mean her harm, but if I let myself go we'll both fall right where those fuckers want us to. but I know that giving in to my urges would be falling into the trap those despicable people want for me. Resisting the fury boiling inside me, I force myself to hold back, aware that prudence is the only card that can lead me to victory.

Tristan and I advance through the dark corridors of the mansion, each step echoing like a sinister echo in the tension-laden air. The silence is oppressive, interrupted only by the sound of our footsteps and the rustle of shadows dancing on the walls.

Finally, we find ourselves alone in the long corridor leading to my office. The gloom envelops everything as if the place were impregnated with the same darkness that dwells inside me. Tristan watches me with inquisitive eyes, his piercing gaze searching for answers in the shadows of my soul. "You're not going to hurt that puppy, are you?" whispers Tristan with a hint of disbelief, as if waiting for an answer that would disprove his own suspicions.

"Don't you dare question my decisions, Tristan," I reply in an icy voice, making it clear that I will not tolerate his insolence. "Mind your own business and don't meddle in my decisions."

A flash of satisfaction crosses his face, as if he enjoys my annoyance. It's infuriating how he seems to read me like an open book, knowing my every thought and foible. Sometimes, I hate that connection we share after so long.

"Understood, my Alpha," Tristan murmurs, his subtle smile revealing his complacency at having gotten a reaction from me. But I don't stop there. "And make sure you give that damn puppy everything he needs," I add dismissively, making sure he knows my command is absolute and I will not tolerate neglect in his care.

The urgency of my search for Livy burns in my chest like a devouring flame. I can afford no delays or distractions. The night is dark and cruel, but my determination is stronger than any obstacle that stands in my way.

LIVY P.O.V.

Amidst the suffocating darkness of the room that is lit only by a wretched, wobbling light bulb, the seconds seem to stretch into eternity, and I'm not sure how much time has passed since I was dragged into this hellish place. Is it dark outside yet? How much longer must I endure this anguish?

The kidnappers can't help but brag about their devious plan every chance they get, as if they enjoy torturing me with uncertainty. They have told me that Sora is involved in all this, that it is up to her to give the information about my abduction. They talk about a plan in which she would play the victim, she would invent that she was also attacked by them to generate empathy with the rest of the pack so that her words would be more credible. But is it really a good plan? I can't help but feel that these werewolves don't understand Sora's true feelings, and that terrifies me even more. If my life depends on her, I'm lost.

The kidnappers, with their hate-filled words, call me "filthy human" over and over again, as if that's insult enough to dehumanize me. But they don't stop there. Their brutal actions include beating me with uncontrolled fury, as if they want to beat the humanity out of me. I feel their hands squeezing my wrists with unrelenting force, leaving painful marks that seem to be etched into my skin forever.

Hunger and thirst devour me, turning every moment into endless agony. And not content with that, their constant threats and glares full of malice increase my terror, making it clear that their contempt for me knows no bounds.

My body is stiff and sore from the position I am in, unable to move even a little for fear that the kidnappers will think I am trying to escape. The numbing sensation spreads through every fiber of my being, turning my limbs into heavy slabs that bind me to this hell. The gag, with its rancid and unpleasant odor, only aggravates my discomfort, and the oppressive atmosphere of the cell makes me feel dizzy once again, although it could simply be from a lack of food. Every time I try to remember the last time I ate, a wave of nausea threatens to choke me, but I can't afford that luxury. I don't want to imagine ending up choking on my own vomit in this sinister place; it would be an even greater humiliation in the midst of this never-ending nightmare.

Everything about this place terrifies me. The uncertainty, the darkness, the physical and emotional pain. Desperation consumes me as I long for a bath to clean the filth from my body and some food to calm the hunger that twists my stomach. Is it too much to ask for a quiet life, without the constant danger that surrounds me at every damn second? Is it too much to ask for a little peace and security in this cruel world?
