Yanis stood where she was and watched Zane carefully walk Neve to his car.
During their five-year marriage, except on the day they got married, Zane had never been so tender.
Yanis had thought that Zane didn't know how to be tender.
But today Yanis realized that he was tender to nobody but Neve.
"Albi said you wanted to speak to me. What happened?" Zane said as he approached Yanis and stopped in front of her.
Yanis looked at him in surprise.
It was Zane that said last night that Albi would bring the papers to her.
And he even began to date Neve.
But now, he looked as if he didn't know anything.
Yanis calmed down and said, "Let's go in and talk."
With that, Yanis walked into the cafe.
Zane followed her in.
They chose the seats near the window.
Yanis didn't order any coffee but asked the waiter for two cups of water. Taking a sip of the water, she said, "Sorry, I'm too poor to pay for the coffee."
Zane gave her a look. "Did you run out of all the money I gave you?"
Yanis didn't answer this question but asked, "When did she come back?"
Zane was in silence.
Yanis asked again, "Last night?"
"Did you pick her up yourself?"
"Do the Bennetts know she's back?"
"Yanis!"
Zane interrupted her in a deep voice, "What exactly did you want to do?"
Stunned, Yanis looked at the man sitting across from her and asked in a calm voice, "Last night you said you would ask Albi to bring the papers for me, so I'm here to sign it."
Hearing Yanis' words, Zane rubbed between his brows, looking at Yanis with cold eyes. "I thought you would not want to sign it."
Yanis sniffed and sneered. "Will you agree if I don't want to sign the papers?"
"No,"
As soon as Yanis finished speaking, Zane said.
Yanis stopped smiling and said, "So, it never depends on me."
With that, Yanis picked up the glass on the table and took a sip. "Zane, I'm ready to give up."
Zane didn't say anything, but he had a strange feeling when he heard what she had said.
Yanis looked him in the eye. "I am ready to let myself go and give you back to her. You can get married to her and do whatever you want. This road is too narrow to walk the three of us, and I don't want to work for a pipe dream anymore. Thus, I am going to quit and I wish you a happy life."
When Yanis finished, she held out her hand towards Zane and asked, "Where are the papers? I'll sign them."
Zane looked at her.
During their five-year marriage, Yanis was always obedient.
She had never been so decisive.
Zane even had an indescribable sense of oppression that nearly strangled him.
Just then, Zane's phone rang.
Zane answered the phone and said in an unprecedentedly gentle tone. "Okay. I'll be right out."
Hanging up the phone, he turned cold again and looked at Yanis. "I'll ask Albi to bring the papers for you."
Yanis withdrew her hand and nodded. "Okay."
"But it might be too late today. There's a family dinner in the Lawrence's Mansion, and Grandma asked us to go back together."
Yanis froze, and then said, "Okay."
No matter how the Lawrences and Zane treated Yanis, Catherine, who was Zane's grandmother, was always nice to Yanis.
That was why Yanis agreed. She wanted to eat with Catherine for the last time as a farewell.
After all, they might well never see each other in the future.
Yanis sat in the cafe for over two hours before getting up to leave.
It was 1:00 pm now.
Yanis got to Manches Star Hotel.
She parked her car and entered the hotel through the back door.
After looking around, Yanis found Bonnie in the temporary lounge at the far end.
Bonnie rushed to Yanis at once. "I thought you were going to stand me up again because of Zane."
Yanis looked at Bonnie somewhat guiltily. "I'm here to tell you about it."
The smile on Bonnie's face instantly disappeared. "What do you mean?"
"There's a family dinner in the Lawrence's Mansion, and Catherine asked me to go back with Zane."
Bonnie stared at Yanis for a long time. "So, you chose to stand me up in front of me!"
Yanis reached out and gently lifted the corners of Bonnie's mouth. "After today, I will be always available for you."
Bonnie slapped Yanis' hand away. "Save those words for Zane. I don't buy them."
"Bonnie!"
Yanis suddenly shouted in a very serious voice.
Bonnie doesn't say anything, just looking at Yanis.
Yanis looked at Bonnie for a long time and then said, "I didn't see Mr. Cooke. Where is he?"
"As a socialite, he is well-connected, so he is very busy today." After that, Bonnie got closer to Yanis. "Is there something you're not telling me?"
Yanis smiled at Bonnie. "No. That's impossible." "But you got married to Zane in secret at that time."
Bonnie snorted. "I will remember it for the rest of my life."
Bonnie pressed Yanis down on a chair. "Does it go further between you and Zane?"
Yanis thought for a moment and said, "Yes, I guess."
Divorce was also a breakthrough between them.
It was time to put an end to this failed marriage.
"That's good. Anyway, five years passed. However relentless he is, he should be touched."
Yanis nodded and didn't say anything else.
Even Bonnie thought so.
But Yanis failed. Zane was even unwilling to talk with her.
After chatting with Bonnie for a while, Yanis went back to D-king Castle, where she and Zane live.
Every time Yanis went to see Catherine, she would call the housekeeper at the Lawrence's Mansion in advance to ask who would attend the dinner.
And then Yanis would prepare a gift for each one.
But this time, Yanis didn't call the housekeeper.
She didn't want to cater to Zane anymore, so she didn't have to do that.
In the evening, the door opened on time.
Yanis looked atwards the door.
Zane walked in, followed by Neve.
Yanis was a bit shocked, not expecting Zane would take Neve with him to the Lawrence's Mansion.
"I'm going to change my clothes. Just wait here for a while," Zane ignored Yanis, spoke to Neve, and turned straight upstairs.
Yanis didn't intend to say anything or greet Neve as the hostess.
"I heard you got married Zane."
Neve said as Yanis was concentrating on the TV show.
