Desperate for him
Desperate for him
"I wanted to apologize—"
"For what?" He leaned in, his breath hot against my ear.
"You couldn't do any wrong, could you?" He stood right behind me, only inches away, and it made my heart race.
I turned around and saw him, finally. There was a darkness over his face and his eyes. He was hungry, starving, and I made him like this. Guilt began to kill me the longer I looked at him. I did wrong. I needed to fix it—fix him.
"I'm sorry," I choked out a moment later. "I realized that I did wrong by draining those blood bags, and I'm sorry for it."
"The damage was already done, and you shouldn't have been here right then. I could still rip you apart and drain you of your blood because that was what every inch of me wanted," he stepped away from me and shook his head while going further into the room. I followed him with no intention of leaving. When he reached the bed, he turned around. "Don't make a villain of your story. I heard your apology and I’ll take it into consideration." A frown stretched over his face, and it made me want to undo everything.
But it was already too late.
He sat on the bed and folded one leg over the other before leaning back. I stood near the wooden edge, both hands curled around the flashlight. Words came and went in my mind, but I still couldn’t find the right ones to say. His eyes, slightly narrowed, remained on me.
"I knew I couldn’t undo what was done. But I wanted to make it better," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
"You could drink from me if it was going to make you feel better." I understood what I offered him, and it wasn’t the greatest option.
Surprise crossed his face as he registered what I offered. I pursed my lips, waiting for his response. I didn’t fear him taking my blood, especially willingly. It was just blood for me, nothing more, while for him, it was everything.
"Come here." I walked over to him until I stood in front of him, still. He leaned forward and took my hand. My fingers curled as he turned it around. His hungry gaze fell over my wrist, and for a moment, I saw the urge in his eyes to drink. My chest rose and fell as he trailed his thumb over my throbbing veins, feeling the blood thrumming through them.
"I'm not going to drink from you, Aurora," he said before dropping my hand and looking up at me.
"Why not?" My whole body shuddered again. I didn’t know what was wrong with me anymore, or why I felt like this—so small in front of him.
"Because I’d rather drink from someone else than drink your blood. And you weren't willing—you were desperate.
You didn’t want me to hurt you. You wanted me to relish you and your little wolf that night, and you were going to do everything it took for it to happen." He quickly read me—my fucking mind—and I didn’t realize it until I heard him.
I stepped back in surprise as he grinned at me.
"Oh, how the tables turned. I warned you of your heat, didn’t I?" His grin widened, and the color returned to his face, even without drinking any blood. "It was going to be a painful one."
Now, standing at his mercy, I considered my actions. My wolf hurled inside me, in need. I couldn’t control what she felt—or what I felt—not that night. Any other night, and it would’ve been completely different. I wouldn’t have been there, to begin with.
But that night, I wanted things I couldn’t have.
"You survived hundreds of days of heat, didn’t you?" His voice dripped with amusement as he questioned me. I knew he was teasing me and doing nothing more.
I bit my lower lip, trying to steady myself in front of him. "Yes, but it was never like that before. It was worse, and I didn’t know what to do," I paused and my eyes trailed over him, his body. It looked surprisingly appealing to me that night. I stepped closer, nearer to him. "I needed some relief, Lucien. Please. I wouldn’t cause any trouble anymore if you just—"
My breath hitched.
"Just?"
"You knew what I wanted." I couldn’t seem to find the words to bring to my lips, even when they were there in my mind.
"I did. But wouldn’t it have been better if I simply watched you wither for me for the next few days?" He smiled again, keeping his eyes fixed on me. I could see how much he enjoyed all of it, even when starved.
My lips turned into a frown. "Don’t be cruel."
His eyes darkened, and he raised his hand before slipping it between my legs. His fingers traced higher along my thigh, teasingly slow, setting my skin on fire with every delicate stroke. A soft breath escaped my lips, a response to the effect his touch had on me, only that night.
"What if being cruel was exactly what I desired, Aurora?"
He asked, a playful smirk on his face. "What if I took pleasure in seeing you squirm, in watching you beg for something only I could give you? After all, I held the power to give you what you craved—or deny you completely."
My stomach twisted as his hand reached the apex of my thighs and rested in between. It was like a jolt of electricity that spread through, setting every nerve on fire even though I was still wearing my clothes. I arched into his touch, my body craving more of his contact.
When he drew his hand away, it left my body throbbing with an ache that demanded attention. I looked down at him, my eyes clouded with desire, silently begging for his touch to return. There was no one who could be that cruel to his very own mate.
"You wanted more, didn’t you?" he asked, knowing exactly what went on in my mind.
I nodded and whispered, "Yes."
As I stood before him, he captured my wrist once more and trailed a thumb across my arm. The hair on my skin rose, and I stifled back a breathless gasp.
"Why didn’t you take off your clothes and show me just how desperate you were?"
