“Let go!” Eve yelled as she tried to break free from my grasp, eyes so mad and sharp.

I have never seen her like this.

She's letting her emotions get to her. I never knew she could be like this. This could be a problem.

“Calm down,” I said calmly.

“I said, let go!” She yelled through gritted teeth, trying to wring her arm free, but I tightened my grip on her wrist.

“I said, calm down,” I muttered, now getting frustrated. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with her? Why is she acting like a baby, for Christ’s sake!

“And I said, let go!”

If she keeps shouting like this, they will get curious and want to know what's happening up here.

I can't let that happen.

I've come too close.

“Let go… ahh!”

I swooped her off her feet and carried her to my room.

“Put me down!”

She kept screaming and kicking.

“Put me down right now!”

I locked the door to my room, then carried her all the way to the balcony, where no one could hear, then put her down.

She hit me hard on my cheeks again with her baby hands, huffing and exhaling like a puffed cheese ball about to burst.

Honestly, the situation at hand definitely wasn't a funny one, but her face was so hilarious that a smile slipped my lips.

She gasped, gaping at me in total disbelief.

“You think this is funny?!” She bellowed, obviously pissed. “Huh? Is that what you think, that this is funny?”

“Calm down, Eve…”

“Calm down? How the fuck can you tell me you tell me to calm down?” She demanded furiously. I think this is the first time I'm hearing her curse, guess she must be so mad. “How can you drag me into your shitty fucked up family?”

That I agree with her on. This family is fucked up.

“You… you… no, no, no, first, you manipulated me into signing a stupid, goddamn relationship contract or whatever the fuck you call it, made me go on those stupid pretend dates with you dressing like a fucking goddamn celebrity virgin nun who's avoiding the fucking paparazzi, and then you gaslit me when I asked you about me being in danger like Katy said your creepy brother Finn told her… and as if that wasn't enough, you fucking bastard dragged me into your…fucking… weird… whatever… fucked up family this is!” She paused to get some breath, then went on, “Your fucking mom looks like she fucking wants to stab you in the fucking throat!”

Wow, she's really swearing a lot, huh?

“Your father looks like he hates you to the moon and back… and your creepy brother…” She exhaled, raking her hands through her hair, as she began pacing around on the balcony, then let out a terrified chuckle. “Oh, don't even fucking get me started on him! Even the mere thought of him makes me shudder! God! He said that my fucking life would be hell from now on, and I don't doubt that for one fucking second! The dude even nearly made me shit my pants! Geez! Look, I don't want to know what's wrong in your shitty, fucked up family, and I also… honestly don't want to know why you're doing this… but I know that I want out! I fucking want out! I don't want to do any more! I want no part of this.”

Hmm, I guess she's done.

She let out a deep sigh, sweeping her now slightly disheveled hair off her face, “Phew! Wow! That felt kind of good.”

“Uh huh?”

“Yeah! Seriously, I don't even swear. That was just, you know, a sudden burst of emotion. I had to let it all out. I tend to swear a lot when I get like extremely overwhelmed. So, it's nothing personal.”

“Yeah, Eve, I'm very much aware.”

“Thank you,” she arranged her hair, “So, what do you say we go back down there and tell everyone that we were never even dating in the first place…” she began to pace around again, “... and that this was all just, you know, some kind of prank which you pulled to get their reaction…”

“Not a chance, Eve.” I deadpanned.

“B-b-b…”

“Not a chance.”

“But…”

“Zip it.”

“I…”

“Shush.”

“You…”

“Nope.”

“Oh, come on!” She exploded, throwing her arm up in the air, “Either you tell them, or I tell them myself!”

She turned and matched to the door.

I can't let her leave.

Not when I'm this close.

“You think they'd believe you if you told them?” I enquired, halting her on her tracks.

She swung around, “Of course! Why wouldn't they?”

I took several steps towards her, “Because I'll tell them you're being silly.”

“Oh? Is that so?”

“Mhm hmm.”

“Then guess what? I'll show them my copy of the contract.” She gritted defiantly. “And after that, we'll see.”

“And you think they'd believe you? After I tell them you fabricated the contract?”

“What, you think they wouldn't find it strange that your ‘real’ girlfriend is doing all that?”

“Which will exactly prove my point.” I smirked at her, “I'll tell them that I am so smitten with you that I proposed to you, and you think I'm moving too fast, and don't want a relationship with me anymore, which is why you're going as far as you can to get away from me… hence… the contract.” I tilted my head to the side, enjoying the look of defeat on her face, “You know I'm pretty good with words, Eve. Besides, you think even if you manage to get away that you still won't be in danger? Oh, come on, Eve, you should know better.”

She trembled, seething with rage, “So, I am in danger?”

“Not if you're with me.”

“You knew what you were getting me into and yet didn't think to let me know?” Anger and hatred flickered across as she glared at me, fists clenched so tight her knuckles turned white, “Because you knew I would never want any part of this! Which means that your stupid fucked up plan is more important to you than my safety?”

I made a face, “Now, if you put it like that, it makes me look like the bad guy.”

“No, you're the bad guy!” She snapped, the hatred in her eyes growing with every passing second as she jabbed at my chest. “You stupid fucked up manipulative psychopath! Oh, I hate you!”

“Hmm! When have you never?”
