Chapter 791: What Business Do You Have Looking for My Wife?

She chatted with Margaret for quite a while. After Margaret left, Electra sat alone on the balcony, staring blankly at the sky outside.

Margaret returned to the living room and told William everything about Electra's thoughts, hoping he could have a good talk with Kevin.

William's car was parked downstairs.

"She won't see me, right?" Kevin suddenly asked.

"Since you already guessed it, why bother asking? You were so heartless back then, so why now?" William said flatly.

"I'll be straight with you. Back then, I cut ties with her because I already knew someone was setting a trap for me. I didn't want to drag her down or get her involved. It wasn't until today that I realized she was the best one... I regret it."

Kevin hung his head low, looking at the photos of him and Electra in the album, sighing over and over.

William didn't respond. He glanced upstairs, saw Margaret coming down, and left with her.

After this incident, people started paying attention to Electra and Kevin again, suspicious about their relationship. But it was just small-scale speculation that didn't cause a big stir.

Margaret looked at the waves of entertainment news on her phone and directly told the PR department to find other hot topics and suppress the matter. After all, the two had already clarified their relationship before, so it wouldn't cause much trouble now.

"My big boss, can you relax now?" William had been staying with her at the company these past few days, following her everywhere.

"Stop teasing. When you have time, go check on Juniper. Her baby is due soon." Margaret mentioned casually.

William shook his head repeatedly. He walked to the window, pulled all the curtains closed, locked the office door, and threw off his jacket onto the chair.

Margaret gave him a mischievous smile.

"You've been busy with everyone else's business. When are you going to spend time with me?" William pouted pitifully.

This dignified, charismatic, and decisive CEO actually had this whiny side—too bad only Margaret could see it.

The two embraced and walked into the back room.

"Bang bang bang!" Urgent knocking came from outside the door, and William was immediately annoyed.

Margaret gave him a quick peck on the cheek and quickly got up. The phone rang again.

"Kevin? What is it?" William grabbed the phone and yelled directly.

"Nothing, nothing..." Hearing his tone, Kevin on the other end quickly hung up with a laugh.

Margaret gave him a light tap. The knocking outside started again.

Helplessly, Margaret had to get up and open the door. Behind her came William's growl: "If it's Kevin, I'll teach him a lesson!"

Margaret shook her head with a smile. Opening the door, it was indeed Kevin.

She called inside: "Kevin's here!"

"Emergency! Margaret, I need your help!" Kevin barged in shouting without thinking.

William came out angrily from inside holding a baseball bat, and started chasing Kevin when he saw him.

"Help! Help! I didn't mean it!" Kevin begged for mercy while dodging.

"Stop right there!" William never backed down.

Margaret shook her head, watching the two with interest. It was quite lively.

"Margaret, you have to be fair! I really have an urgent matter. Make him stop!" Kevin hid behind the sofa, keeping the entire sofa between him and William.

Margaret shrugged: "You're on your own."

William grabbed Kevin and gave him a good scolding before calming down.

"So, what do you want with my wife?" William sat on the sofa, tugging at his collar, his cold eyes staring at him.

Kevin was too scared to sit closer, pulling a chair far away to maintain his distance.

"I saw Electra's social media post. She's planning to go abroad. I'm asking you both to help... get her to forgive me!" Kevin looked at them pleadingly.

Margaret had learned about Electra's feelings before and knew she still had feelings for Kevin. Doing this favor would be good. So she agreed right away.

"Thank you so much! She's leaving the day after tomorrow... Could you find some work to keep her here? Or some other reason?" Kevin racked his brain.

"Work-wise... Electra's business is separate from our company. She has her own agent, and I can't interfere in this area. Unless she changes her mind herself." When Margaret signed Electra, they had agreed to give her independent space and life without too many restrictions.

"I think you'd better prepare yourself well." William leisurely sipped his coffee from the side and added unhurriedly.

"I can handle everything else myself, but you must help me stop her. And this can't get out to the press." Kevin begged again and again.

Margaret agreed to everything.

William rolled his eyes at him again. Kevin wisely made a quick exit.

"Why are you so mean to him?" Margaret teased.

William embraced her from behind: "He interrupted something important."

On the other side.

"I didn't schedule any overseas plans for you. How did you make this decision on your own?" The agent shouted on the other end.

Electra had been in a bad mood these past few days, so her tone was naturally sharp: "I need some quiet time."

"Don't you know this is a critical period? You're the person the company wants to make famous. You can't mess up!" The agent only cared about money and never about the artists.

"When I signed the contract with little Margaret, we agreed I'd have my own life." Electra explained helplessly.

"Even though you're an artist with Ms. Scott's company, I'm your managing agent and have the right to plan your work schedule. I won't hold the past against you, but you must listen to me on this." The agent wouldn't budge at all.

"I don't want to talk to you." Electra threw out that line and walked away.

The agent immediately called Margaret and complained about Electra.

Margaret listened to everything and finally replied: "Respect Electra's choice."

This made the agent even more furious.

"President, there's a problem with the company accounts. Please come quickly." William received a call, and his expression changed. He put on his jacket and left in a hurry.

Margaret glanced at the calendar and noticed that the day Electra was leaving the country happened to be her birthday—it seemed she was truly disappointed in Kevin.

Margaret secretly thought about how to help Kevin win back Electra's heart.

Kevin was also busy preparing. Flowers and gifts filled a long list, all sent to Margaret.

"Take a look and see if these things are appropriate."

Margaret was shocked by the dense items on her phone—from food, clothing, and daily necessities to all kinds of things.

"Are you crazy? Are you giving gifts or moving house?"

Margaret was a bit overwhelmed by his dedication. Never mind herself—even Electra would probably be stunned if she saw this.

"Every single item here is a memory between Electra and me. They're all things she mentioned to me, and I want to buy them all for her. There are a few more she's always wanted, and they're still being delivered."

Kevin's explanation made Margaret have to admire him.
