Chapter 783 Stay Away from Juniper
Chapter 783 Stay Away from Juniper
As she spoke, she remembered Rainey's arrogant ultimatum over the phone.
"Also, go keep company with whoever you should be with. Don't worry about me—I don't need your concern."
Having said everything she needed to say, Juniper just wanted to get away from Samuel. She turned and brushed past him.
Samuel froze in place. He wanted to chase after her but found he couldn't move his legs—his feet felt like they weighed a thousand pounds.
Meanwhile, Juniper was walking quickly toward the elevator when suddenly she felt the skin on her abdomen tighten inexplicably, followed by waves of dull pain.
Just then the elevator doors opened and a gaudily dressed woman stepped out, filling the air with the scent of perfume.
Catching that strong fragrance, Juniper looked up in shock to see Rainey standing before her.
"Out of the hospital already? I was just coming to check on you!"
Rainey greeted her with fake concern, casually shoving a bouquet of flowers at Juniper. "Since you're fine now, take these flowers as congratulations on your discharge!"
With that, Rainey rudely pushed past Juniper.
Whether intentionally or not, she slammed hard into Juniper and kept walking as if she hadn't noticed.
"Samuel, you're here too!"
The moment Rainey saw Samuel, her face bloomed into a smile.
But Juniper had nearly been knocked over, stumbling before regaining her balance.
Seeing this from a distance, Samuel rushed over in alarm, ignoring Rainey completely.
He steadied Juniper in time, his voice full of concern: "Are you okay? Let me help you back to the room to rest. We can discharge you later."
After being knocked by Rainey, Juniper's already uncomfortable stomach now hurt even more.
In an instant, cold sweat covered her forehead and her rosy cheeks went pale.
Though Rainey was annoyed at being ignored, seeing Juniper's pained expression made a gloating smirk twist at her lips.
She started walking back, and seeing Samuel supporting Juniper, asked with fake concern: "You're so careless! Pregnant and still so reckless—I'll go get a doctor for you!"
Rainey headed toward the consultation room while Juniper, worried about the baby, followed Samuel back to the hospital room.
Before long, Juniper was leaning against the pillow on the bed. After resting a moment, the abdominal pain finally eased.
She braced herself on the edge of the bed and sat up, looking at Samuel.
"I'm fine now. Please take Rainey and leave the hospital—at least stop bothering me."
Juniper's voice remained cold, even more convinced now that something improper was going on between Samuel and Rainey.
Samuel didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He felt utterly wronged, but was afraid arguing with Juniper would trigger her pain again.
"Stop thinking crazy things. Right now I only care about you—I don't have anyone else on my mind."
Samuel gently stated his position, then tried to negotiate: "If you don't want to go back to the villa, I'll take you to stay at an apartment for a couple days. It's convenient for shopping and transportation—you'll like it."
He was trying everything to keep Juniper by his side, even planning to temporarily move to the apartment with her.
Unfortunately, Juniper was unmoved, her attitude not softening one bit.
"Thanks for the offer, but I don't need it."
Juniper's voice was ice-cold, as if treating Samuel like a stranger with ulterior motives.
Samuel wanted to cry but had no tears. Realizing he couldn't persuade Juniper, he simply started being shameless.
"If you won't go home or to the apartment, I'll just have to follow you."
Samuel shrugged, clinging to her shamelessly. "Wherever you go—whether you stay in a hotel or sleep on the street—I'll be there with you."
Hearing this, Juniper was at a loss.
She hadn't realized Samuel could be so persistent before...
As she hesitated, footsteps sounded in the hallway along with a man and woman talking in low voices.
Though Juniper couldn't make out what they were saying, she easily recognized the woman's voice as Rainey's.
Her emotions had just started to settle, but now nameless anger flared up again.
The next moment, Rainey clicked in on high heels, followed by the doctor who had been treating Juniper.
"Samuel, I brought the doctor."
Rainey looked thoughtful and considerate, then turned to the doctor with a sweet smile: "Please check on her—I heard this stage is really risky, and if something were to happen..."
"Shut up! What nonsense are you spouting?"
Hearing Rainey brazenly curse the baby in her belly, Juniper finally snapped.
Seeing Juniper instantly flush red with anger, Rainey feigned innocence, looking pitiful as she clarified: "What did I say wrong? I'm just trying to help."
Hearing the two women start arguing in the hospital room, Samuel's brow furrowed and he stepped forward impatiently to break it up.
Naturally, without thinking, he sided with Juniper, his cold eyes fixed on Rainey.
Pointing toward the door, Samuel roared angrily: "Get out! Stop talking nonsense in here!"
The shout instantly drained the color from Rainey's face.
She shuddered, glancing timidly at Samuel, then demanded indignantly: "Why are you yelling at me? I didn't cause her stomach pain!"
"Get out."
Samuel's expression didn't change, showing not an ounce of gentleness toward Rainey.
Rainey bit her lip and pouted in protest: "Good deeds get punished—I helped get the doctor and now I'm the bad guy!"
Still feeling wronged, she noticed Samuel's attention wasn't on her at all—his eyes were full of concern only for Juniper.
Rainey couldn't stand being ignored by Samuel over and over. She stood there seething.
"Hey! Are you even listening to me?"
Furious and humiliated, Rainey shoved Juniper aside and blocked her with her body, forcing Juniper to fall back onto the bed.
This action made Samuel explode. Without a word, he strode forward and shoved Rainey without mercy.
Rainey stumbled backward to the cabinet, demanding furiously: "Are you crazy? What did I do wrong?"
If not for her, Juniper wouldn't have been giving him the cold shoulder for days.
And just now he'd seen with his own eyes how Rainey deliberately bumped into Juniper.
The more Samuel thought about it, the angrier he got. Seeing Rainey refuse to leave, he grabbed her by the collar and dragged her all the way to the hallway.
"Bang!"
The hospital room door slammed shut.
The doctor stood inside awkwardly while Samuel fumed outside.
"Rainey, stay away from Juniper. This is my last warning!"
Samuel's face was full of rage, completely ignoring Rainey's trembling.
"Why are you yelling at me?"
Rainey was indignant, turning the blame back on Samuel through her tears: "I came to the hospital out of kindness to see Juniper, but in your eyes I'm some kind of monster?"
At this accusation, Samuel laughed bitterly in anger.
"Ha, stop playing innocent!"
He rejected her outright, coldly countering: "If you hadn't been sneaking around on the phone, Juniper wouldn't have left home, and she wouldn't have run into those robbers on the road at night and ended up in the hospital!"
