Chapter 79

Chapter 79
Domenico POV:

What was she thinking? Was she trying to kill me? Was she trying to ruin this whole operation? Everything I’ve done, I’ve done for her. Killing her mother, bringing her back here, introducing her to the company. She was supposed to distract Giovanni, not marry him. Did she really hate me that much? Was she truly that far gone?

I thought for sure that once I got her and my home, she would see that I was on the right side of things, she would understand that her family had worked hard to build this empire, and would protect it. Now I realize she’s been tainted by the enemy. She was a fool who had fallen in love with a lowlife.

I can know more than I expect her to take over than Guilia. With daughters like this, I’d meet an early grave.

Laughed out loud, they would both probably love that. Neither of them saw how hard I worked,  neither of them understood the sacrifice. Neither of them understood the mindset that you had to do what it took to protect what we built. I had to keep everyone in line. I had to take our share; otherwise, who wouldn’t do that to us? Everybody was capable of something like this. I just had to make sure we were the ones doing it, otherwise, the boot would be on our neck.

The fact that they were trying to get me over tax evasion, I mean, come on who wouldn’t want to keep their money from those greedy fucks.

I’ve been very proud of that move on her part. I thought it was very smart, and it showed that she had the cutthroat ability to take me out, something her mother never did. I was doing my best, trying to pacify the jury using my normal tricks to escape.

I was still putting pressure on the m having reporters hound, them putting out rumors about them so that every time they stepped out of the house they got dirty looks.

I figured sooner or later the pressure of her only parent going to prison, and her sister missing would make her snap and she crack on the stand under all of these questions she slip up and say that yes her mother had turned her against me, but no, instead she has gotten in the bed with the enemy and tired herself to the sinking ship.

I go down there’s no chance in hell that I’m not taking that motherfucker with me. I’m sure he’s got some sort of deal with the FBI. That doesn’t matter to me, because somebody else is always sniffing around looking for trouble. I can hand them over to them.

Granted, I don’t think he’s done nearly half the shit I have so I had to find something good. My team was having difficulty getting any real evidence. I had to admit he was a good opponent.

Perhaps I had underestimated them, perhaps I misjudged how pure a soul my daughter was, too much like her mother. My Vanessa was still ruining things from beyond the grave. I’m sure she was very proud of the way Ariana was handling things.

Hell, I’m sure she’d even loved Giovanni the way he fought and protected our daughter my eyes thinking about it protected he was stripping away the protections I had put in place what happens if somebody comes along when a mile old enemies what was he gonna do try and pressure them into being kind no, he didn’t have fortitude to do what had to be done every time he had to put pressure on my people. He always always felt bad about it. I could see it in his eyes. He was eating soul, but me I saw the world as it was. I knew it had to be done, and if that meant putting a few lowly gutter rats down the drain, what was it to me?

I paced around my cell, furious that this it happened. I should’ve kidnapped her a long time ago. I shouldn’t have tried to take her easily. I should’ve made her see. All I had to do, I thought, was get her to see, but she had slipped right through my fingers, and now she was gone.

She had run away just like mommy had taught her, and she didn’t even think once to ask why I do what I do. She just assumed I was the bad guy. Did she realize that her sister never wanted for anything? All that I had done for her and paid for when she came back into our lives.

So what, I broke a few rules, I thought, slamming my fist into the bedframe. So what I took out the competition, I kicked the bed. The thing that killed me is, I knew she thought the same thing about me, and I’m her family. She was falling for this creep, and she was setting us aside.

“AAAARRRGGGGHH!” I screamed out my frustrations.

“All that work, all that time, all that planning for nothing,” I sat down, defeated on my bed.

Fine, she was no daughter of mine.

If she wanted to be by his side and be his wife, go ahead, but that put her on the enemy list. All those protections I had afforded her off if I get my way out of this, and I will. I’m coming for her.

She made me kill her mother just to get her, and now she has abandoned me? How could I not take that to heart?

Preparations would have to be made. I’d have to leave one way or another whether that be out the courthouse as a freeman working from the inside of a prison, I didn’t care at this point all I cared about was making sure she knew I was the one who ended her life that all her little good deed mounted to nothing I wanted her to know she would never have her happily ever after she thought that at the end of the day, I’d let a daughter of mine go out with that man she was wrong.

I clench my fist just thinking about it that little greasy fuck was probably so proud of himself thinking he had one and he got the prize. No, no, I’d make sure of it. I might let them have a day or two, let them enjoy their little victory for a second, that way it would be all the sweeter when I ripped it from their hands.

I had to make preparations, it would be hard from inside here, they monitored everything I did, but I still had a few connections here and there. I whistled for the guard.

His brother was on the payroll, so naturally, he knew what would happen if he disobeyed. He begrudgingly came up to the window.

“ I’m gonna need your help,”
