Author’s POV

"Yes" Mahi held Aashi's hand and took her along with her who didn’t utter a single word because negative thoughts started roaming in her mind as if something had happened to someone?? was everyone safe??? was there something everyone was hiding from him like always???

There were questions on her mind but she kept her mouth shut because she knew no one will answer her unless they felt she should know.

She felt a strange irritation building inside her that why everyone hid everything from her when everyone knew everything except her.

For God's sake she was not a child anymore, she was a married woman and she had a right to know everything that was related to her and her loved ones no matter how painful it was for her.

“I will bring the car" said Nitin and left.

Mahi looked at her sister who was awkwardly silent but had many questions in her eyes.

She cupped her face in her hands and said to her "Aashi, don't keep quiet like this, ask whatever you want to ask.”

"You won't tell like everyone doesn't tell me anything." Aashi looked straight in her eyes.

She got stunned when she saw accusations in her little sister’s eyes who was accusing her for hiding everything from her that everyone hid from her so that she didn’t get hurt.

“Aashi we never hide anything from you to hurt you” Mahi reasoned out to which Aashi gave her a smile which was not normal.

"But I am always the one who hurts the most" Aashi said in a flat tone removing her hands from her cheeks but before Mahi could say anything, Nitin came with the car and asked them to sit in the car.

They settled inside the car. Aashi turned her face to opposite direction and looking outside the window and Mahi looked at her with moist eyes as this was the first time Aashi had talked to her like this but it was not her fault while Aashi was drowning in her thoughts.

Everyone hid something or the other from her by saying they did not want to hurt her so they did not tell her but this was not right. They couldn't always treat her like a glass doll. They should now understand that instead of standing in front of her like a shield to protect her, they needed to support her by standing shoulder to shoulder with her.

She didn’t like the way she talked to Mahi but she couldn’t help it, sometimes she also got frustrated.

“We have reached” Nitin brought them both out of their thoughts who looked outside and their hearts started pounding and they suddenly felt heavy breathing as the place happened to be a hospital which was not good news.

Nitin came out of the car and asked them both to come out as well.

"Why have we come here??" This was the first question that Mahi asked him as soon as she got out of the car while Aashi didn’t not say anything as she felt like she have lost her voice somewhere.

"Please mam follow me" Nitin started walking towards the entrance seeing which Mahi held Aashi's hand and followed him who guided them without saying a word and took them to an operation theatre where Karan was sitting on the bench with his face in his hands. he looked dishevelled with messy hairs and blood stain on his shirt.

Just then a nurse came out of the operation theatre hurriedly and asked him in panic tone "Have they come? The doctor removed the bullet from the patient's body but the bleeding is not stopping. We urgently need blood for the patient."

Karan raised his face and opened his mouth but before he could say anything Nitin said walking up to him "we are here".

Karan's eyes went to Mahi, who was looking at them with confusion, and then to Aashi, who was looking expressionlessly at the closed door of the operation theatre.

"Who has this AB- blood group in you both??" Nurse asked them hearing which Mahi frowned and asked her "It is mine but why are you asking"

Mahi looked at Karan who was looking at her with pain in his eyes but he averted his eyes.

“The patient urgently needs AB- blood, our blood bank has not his blood group, so we need your blood. We have to hurry.” The nurse answered her question.

Mahi was not able to understand what was happening here??? Whom was is the nurse talking about?? But before she could say anything, Karan said to her who was silent till now "Mahi, there is absolutely no time for all this. Please do as the nurse says. I promise that I will tell you everything but for now got with her, we have no time to waste."

"I'm ready to go but just tell me who's inside??" Mahi tried again to know for whom she was giving her blood.

"Mam, please this way" said the nurse again when Mahi didn’t move her place.

"Nitin take care of Aashi" Karan told Nitin and took Mahi holding her hand to where the nurse guided them.

Nitin turned at Aashi who was standing still like a stone, still staring blankly at the operation theatre.

"Mam" he called her name but when there was no reaction, he touched her shoulder lightly which made her jump in her place and was about to fall but was caught by two strong arms.

Her eyes met with him and these left her mouth automatically "You, if you are here then who is inside??"
