The next morning, Zedd stood confident in front of cameras, his voice echoing through the live broadcast. The nation had been? On edge for years, terrified by the serial killer known as "THE SHADOW," every failed attempt to catch him deepened the public's fear, but today was different,t. Zedd, the renowned shadow hunter was about to make an announcement that would shock everyone.

The camera zoomed in on his face as he began to speak.

"People of Everton, for years we have been haunted by the presence of a ruthless killer, a man who has taken countless innocent lives and evaded justice at every turn. That man is known as "THE SHADOW ".

He paused, letting the tension build as the reporters and audience hung on every word. The streets were usually quiet, with television in every home tuned to the live broadcast.

"Last night, after years of tireless investigation, I have finally uncovered the true identity of "THE SHADOW ". The man responsible for these horrific crimes is none other than a boy named Jacob Murphy, who has been hiding in plain sight". Zedd said.

The shock went through the crowd, with gasps and whispers spreading like wildfire. Murphy, the normal kid. The thought was impossible to many, but Zedd was a man known for his precision and skill In hunting down dangerous criminals. His words carried weight.

Zedd raised his hand to quiet the murmurs.

"I understand this may come as a surprise to many of you. Murphy appeared to be an ordinary man dating a girl from a wealthy family, but that was all part of his deception. Using his weak position, he was able to slip under the reader and commit these atrocities without suspicion". He said.

The cameras shifted to the journalist who was typing and recording every word Zedd said. Social media exploded with reactions, debates, and speculation. The public has been desperate for answers and now Zedd has given them a name, Murphy.

Meanwhile, in a small apartment across town, Murphy sat frozen in front of his television.

His heart began to race in his chest as Zedd's words echoed in his mind. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. How could this be happening? How could Zedd, one of the most respected shadow hunters in the world, name him "THE SHADOW?".

Murphy's thoughts raced as he watched Zedd explain how all evidence linked him to the crimes.

"We have gathered enough proof, Murphy's presence at multiple crime scenes, his letters to the victims, and even recordings tying him to the murders. The authorities are working swiftly to bring him into custody" Zedd said.

Murphy's world was collapsing. He knew this had to be a setup, but the power of Zedd's words and the trust the public had in him made it feel like a true situation. He knew he had to act quickly but he had no idea where to start. He was now a haunted man.

As the broadcast continued, Zedd made his final statement.

"I urge the people of this city to remain vigilant. Murphy is extremely dangerous and we are working with the police and other authorities to apprehend him as soon as possible. Justice will be served". He said.

The television screen faded to black, but the damage was done. Murphy's name and face were now plastered across every news channel, so every citizen in Everton would know who he was.

Unknowingly to Zedd, the entire setup was falling perfectly into place for Jeremy and Mr Sam. They watched the broadcast with satisfaction, knowing they had successfully convinced Zedd to believe their fabricated evidence. By pinning everything on Murphy, they had set the stage for a larger plot, one that Zedd would be too distracted to notice.

As for Murphy, his life has just taken a terrifying turn. With the world now convinced that he was "THE SHADOW", he knew he had to uncover the truth before Zedd or someone else caught up to him.

After the broadcast, Murphy's world continued to go downward. The accusation that he was "THE SHADOW" spread like wildfire and his reputation was in tatters. His girlfriend, Amelia, who had always stood by his side, was devastated by the news. She couldn't believe that the man she had been with for so long was being accused of such horrific crimes. After days of broken heart, she made the painful decision to cut ties with him.

"Murphy, it is over between us, I have broken up with you, and I can't associate myself with a killer and criminal like you...stay away from me, and wherever you are, I hope Zedd catches up with you so that you will pay for your crimes," Amelia said on her phone.

"What? Amelia, babe, listen to me...I don't know where all this is coming from; there is a mix-up somewhere; someone has set me up," Murphy said.

"Goodbye, Murphy, don't ever call me again," Amelia said and hung up the call in anger.

Murphy tried to contact her multiple times, hoping to explain that it was all a setup, but Amelia refused to answer his calls or messages. She couldn't handle the weight of the accusations, and distancing herself from him seemed like the only option.

Days later, just as Amelia was beginning to feel a slight sense of normalcy, something strange happened. A letter appeared at her door, an envelope with no return address, the paper worn and yellow. The sight of it immediately filled her with dread.

When she opened the letter, her heart froze. It contained only a single line, her date of death, and the exact time it would happen. Her hands trembled as she realized that this was no ordinary letter. It was the same kind of letter the infamous serial killer "THE SHADOW" sent to his victims before their deaths.

"Letter from the shadow? I am next on his list. Is this Murphy's doing?" Amelia thoughts.

Amelia's mind raced. Why me? She thought. Is this some twisted joke?, or could this mean Murphy isn't "THE SHADOW" after all?. But the most terrifying question of all was, would she be next? Fear consumed Amelia as the clock ticked and counting down the tune until the date written in the letter and now Amelia was trapped in a nightmare of her own.
