Takumi’s POV

The scream that went out in all directions as nothing less than supersonic. Persephone had no idea of the volume of sound that she had created and the wave of power that pushed forth from her body.

As soon as the sound hit my ears I cringed in pain but the sea horse named Rudd was oblivious to it. He turned and then gestured me towards Persephone with his tail.

As I had expected she was unconscious and floating but I was not brave enough to touch her. Because her entire body was capsuled inside a red bubble. The dark red bubble that was the exact same shade of red as the blood pearl.

“Do you think it is prudent for me to hold her?” I asked Rudd, since he was the authority on the matters. It seemed from the conversation of Rudd and Persephone that both of them had known about a lot of things that I had no inkling of.

“If you have a death wish then sure, you can hold her,” said the sea horse in a calm voice. I raised my brows at his words.

“You do realise who you are speaking to, right?” I asked the sea horse for confirmation and he smirked. I had no idea that sea horses could smirk but this one did.

“The sirens like you have been taking us, creatures like us to our doom from the past century. You really think that I am going to help you in any way? Or tell you anything?”

“I am the only option who can help her right now.”

“Boy, you are in for a rude awakening if you think that you are going to be of any help to her ever. Have you seen her? Have you experienced her power or even taken stock of her aura?”

“Yes, I know that she is powerful and that she is a DemiGoddess..”

“She isn’t a demi-goddess,” scoffed Rudd and I raised my brows at his words and then he said,” She is a Goddess, fish boy.”

“I am a siren,” I growled at him as my eyes turned towards Persephone. I looked at him again and he smiled.

“You should have realised when you saw me speaking. Only Gods have the innate power to allow creatures like us to speak with words and in a language that is understood by and decipherable to you. We can communicate all we want in our language but for her to understand and take that control so that others can understand us, makes her a Goddess, dude. You should have realised that.”

I was speechless, because I had no idea what I was supposed to say here.

Persephone seemed caught up in some kind of spell and it look like she was in a stasis where something else was happening.

“You didn’t know how she would be affected, did you?” he asked and I had to shake my head saying no.

Obviously, I didn’t know how a blood pearl worked. I had not even known that it would be this huge that she would have to push it inside her in such a way. The fact that she had pushed something inside her which was bigger than what any of us could be made me think that the dragon would probably pull each one of my scales while was screaming and bloodied and the vampire would instigate him even more to do so.

“How long will this take?” I asked as I stared at Persephone trapped inside the red haze and he said,” That depends on the person who is absorbing the power. This egg is a strong one. She can imbibe almost everything soon. And it is a good thing that she is in water.”

Before I could ask the question why, I realised why he said that.

The water around us was literally almost close to boiling point.

“Fuck!” I cursed as I immediately activated my ice powers. I tried cooling down the temperature as much possible but still that wasn’t enough. And then all of a sudden within a few minutes everything was frozen solid including the sea horse and Persephone stood before me awake.

Her eyes had changed colour.

They were now a strange molten silver with a red ring around them and the golden cuffs which had been on her hands had broken of their own and floated away.

“Persephone?” I softly called her as I tried pulling back the ice towards me but before I could do that everything melted in an instant.

“Were you trying to freeze me to death?” asked Persephone with a scowl. It was almost becoming a signature with her but I smiled in relief.

“You are alright,” I said as I swam close to her and she snorted.

“What were you expecting after making me put a ball inside my cunt?” she snapped at me and continued,” That I would die?”

I gasped in outrage,” How can you even say that, princess?”

“Quiet easily. I saw that you put me in a situation which you came to know only from the myths that you learnt and you had no idea about what was supposed to happen o even how I was supposed to finish my quest..”

“And yet, you did that with such aplomb and success and you have found a new friend as well in the process…and see he is watching you with so much interest,” I said and I knew how weird and hollow it sounded.

“Take me to the challenge, Tak. If you don’t, you know that I will act well on my threat and there is nothing you can do to stop me,” she said. But before I could say anything she was covered in a two piece fabric bikini and she looked so….

“From the look on your face it seems that you are either shocked by how I can do this or by how I look. But Rudd, come on, you are gonna be living with me from now on under my protection,” she said as they started swimming and I sighed.

This woman was going to be the death of me.

I caught hold of the sea horse and Persephone’s arm as I shot forward in the water with the speed of light.

The next moment we were at a water body close to the place where he challenge was taking place. Persephone rose up from water and then she shook off the wate from her body and gestured her hand all over her body and the next moment she was covered in a small red leather dress with black high heeled boots. Her pink hair which had white streaks before now had red streaks through them and it was pulled up in a pony tail.

And I had to say, she looked like a warrior Goddess.

“She is way beyond your league, fish boy,” commented the sea horse with a snort as we both watched her walk away.
