Chapter 46: Liam

Chapter 46: Liam
Liam stood in the dimly lit war room, the air thick with tension as his crew gathered around the central table. Blueprints of Alessandro's operations spread out like a map of his greatest fears, each line and mark a reminder of what was at stake. Isabelle was out there, and every minute spent in Alessandro's hands felt like a lifetime.

“Alright, listen up,” he said, his voice cutting through the chatter. The men quieted, eyes fixed on him. “We need a plan to get Isabelle back.”

Declan leaned forward, his jaw clenched. “We can’t just storm in there. Alessandro will be waiting for us. He knows we’re coming.”

Liam paced, his mind racing. “We need to be smarter than him. We can’t let him anticipate our moves. We know he’s been using that warehouse on the edge of his territory for storage. It’s heavily guarded, but with Cara’s intel, we might have a chance.”

Mickey nodded, his arms crossed. “The layout she gave us is crucial. We can access the back entrance through the alley, but we’ll need distractions. Something to draw his men away.”

Liam’s eyes lit up. “Exactly. We create a diversion. Get his men focused on one area while we enter from the other. If we can time it right, we can move quickly.”

“What about the guards?” one of the lieutenants asked. “Alessandro won’t leave Isabelle unprotected.”

Liam clenched his fists, frustration bubbling beneath the surface. “We take out the guards quietly. I want no noise, no chaos until we have her. We can’t risk alerting him too soon.”

Declan interjected, “And if we find her before we’re ready?”

Liam paused, the weight of that question settling in the room. “Then we improvise. But our priority is getting her out alive. I don’t care what it takes.”

The men nodded, a shared understanding passing between them. They knew the stakes. Isabelle was more than a hostage; she was Liam’s heart, and that made this mission personal.

“Let’s break this down,” Liam continued, pulling the blueprints closer. “Mickey, you and a few men will create the distraction at the east side. Set off some Mickey, his expression serious, nodded. “We can create a noise, maybe even set off a few flares to draw attention. It’ll pull a good number of guards away, especially if they think it’s an attack.”

“Perfect,” Liam said, his mind racing ahead. “Declan, you’ll lead the main team through the back entrance. Get in and find Isabelle. Keep your eyes open; I don’t want anyone making a move unless it’s necessary. We have to prioritize her safety.”

Declan’s brow furrowed, the protective instinct flaring in him. “And if we encounter Alessandro?”

“We’ll handle it,” Liam replied, a steely determination in his voice. “But remember, our goal is to get Isabelle out first. If Alessandro’s there, we try to minimize a confrontation. Get her, and we can devise our next steps once we’re out of his territory.”

“What if he’s expecting this?” another member of the team interjected. “He’s not stupid.”

Liam met his gaze, fire igniting in his chest. “That’s why we’ll be unpredictable. We’ll execute this plan at an unexpected time. I want everyone ready to move at my signal. We need to be ghosts.”

“Just say the word, boss,” Declan said, his voice low and fierce. “We’ll get her back.”

Liam took a deep breath, feeling the weight of their mission pressing down on him. He glanced at the blueprints again, his fingers tracing the lines. He could almost see Isabelle’s face, the light in her eyes that had been dimmed by Alessandro’s cruelty. The thought fueled his resolve.

“We move at dawn,” he declared, determination lacing his tone. “We’ll have the cover of early morning when most are still waking up, and the streets will be quieter. It’ll give us a better chance of slipping in unnoticed.”

“Let’s gather gear and weapons, then,” Declan said, clapping a hand on Liam’s shoulder. “We’ll be ready.”

The crew dispersed, each man heading to prepare for the fight ahead. Liam stayed behind for a moment longer, staring at the blueprints. The fear of losing Isabelle gnawed at him, but he pushed it down. He had to focus, had to be sharp.

he glanced out the window toward the garden. It was the space where he’d first seen her smile, the way her eyes lit up when she’d walked among the flowers, feeling the sun on her skin. It was a stark contrast to the darkness that loomed over them now.

Liam took a moment to breathe it in—the vibrant colors of the blooms, the gentle sway of the leaves in the breeze. It reminded him of the warmth she had brought into his life, however briefly. He could almost hear her laughter echoing through the air, a sound he would fight tooth and nail to hear again.

He promised himself right then and there, as he stared into that serene space filled with life, that he wouldn’t let her be taken from him again. Isabelle deserved more than the cage Alessandro had put her in; she deserved freedom, love, and a life full of laughter.

With renewed determination, he turned back to the chaotic war room, ready to finalize their plans. “Let’s move!” he shouted, his voice ringing with the urgency of their mission. “Tomorrow, we bring Isabelle home.”

The team rallied around him, their eyes glinting with resolve. The tension in the air shifted, transforming from anxiety to a fierce determination that pulsed like a heartbeat. Together, they were ready to face whatever hell Alessandro would unleash.

As Liam stepped back into the fray, he kept the image of the garden in his mind—an emblem of hope. He would fight for her, for the chance to share that joy again. The sun would rise, and with it, their chance to reclaim what was rightfully his: Isabelle.
