Michael.

“You look hot, you’d  make a damn fire CEO,” Heather gushed her voice laced with seductiveness, the kind that screamed ‘ I wanna fuck you right there.’

But I ignored her, even though she lay naked sprawled on my bed, I didn’t spare those perky boobs a glance, I was far too focused on how the day would play out.
But as I adjusted my tie in front of the mirror I succumbed to her attention staring at her reflection behind me.  She smiled. “It’s okay, you can look, after all, you fucked me silly all through the night, it’s a good thing your father went on that trip.” She added.
A  half smile tugged at the corner of my lips as I smoothed my white ironed shirt, it fit my body perfectly, and the red tie? It complemented the pocket square.
“I wasn’t staring…” I lied, smoothing the gel through my blonde and slicking it back, not even a strand out of place.  Everything was indeed organized, just the way I wanted it to be.

I  needed to look like I knew what I was doing, even though, deep down, this was all new to me.
“But to be honest, you look like a CEO I’d fuck on my first day at work.” She teased winking at me.
“Don’t flatter me, Heather,” I said adjusting my cuff links.
“I’m not, it’s all the truth.”
I finally turned to face her, and the sheets covered her breasts now. “Leave, before my father returns.”
“He won’t return anytime soon…”
“Do as I say, Heather.” I cut her off and she rolled her eyes reaching for the black night gown lying carelessly on the ground. She slipped into it and moved close to me, her fingers all over my body like a snake preparing to attach its prey.
“I’d leave, but, I want to thank you for speaking well of  me to your father, whom I knew I could trust, I knew you were the only one who could stop him from going through with the divorce.” She mumbled into my ear.
“You earned it,” I smirked.
Her lips turned up and then she kissed me softly on the cheek before storming out of my room.
As soon as I heard the door click shut behind her I let out the air I didn’t realize I was holding.
Yes, I’d fallen for her again, maybe I didn’t, maybe this was just my revenge against Betty. You can call it pettiness or loneliness but Betty moved on so fast with a rich guy so why should I cheat on her when I had something more to gain?

Heather had solved the bankruptcy problem like she promised and she also made sure she wrote to all the shareholders so they could vote on my behalf.

So yeah, I’d do anything, so far it has profited me.

I also made sure to destroy every hidden camera my father had installed in my room, which was a breach of privacy and also could expose my evil deeds. I  also deleted every evidence of Heather striding into my room.
This made me realize that maybe I’m more like my father than I cared to admit.
I looked into the mirror again smiling to myself and clearing my throat.  “Today is the day,” I muttered, grabbing my leather suitcase and the key to my G-wagon.

It took me approximately thirty minutes to arrive at Bolton Enterprise all thanks to the morning traffic, when I arrived in the boardroom room I was already twenty minutes late. Of course, everyone was already seated frowns on their faces, including my father, who sat at the head of the table, I was surprised to see him here. I had no idea he’d be back so soon, so I cleared my throat immediately.
“Good morning, board members, sorry for the delay…”
“Now that my son is here, let’s begin, shall we?” My father cut me off, avoiding my gaze, I wondered what was going on this time around, why was he so formal?

I grabbed a seat across from my father waiting for him to take the lead as always, after all he knew the naked members better than me.
“This is my son, Michael, I’m sure many of you know that already,” he paused looking around, then he continued. “And he would soon be taking over this branch of Bolton Enterprise. But before we proceed to the main matters, I’d like to give him the floor so he could give us a brief introduction about himself”
Their gazes turned to me and this made me fidget for a second but I masked it with a smile.
“Hello, ladies and gentlemen. I'm Michael, and I’ve always dreamed of being the CEO since I was sixteen,” I lied, “I’m willing to learn and work with all of you, and I’m willing to continue my father's legacy,”
There was silence for a few seconds, my father began to clap and then others joined.

“I’m not done,” I cut in and silence returned, “I believe every leader must experience  growth and lessons, I don’t just want to continue my fathers legacy, I want to expand it, modernize it and push us into the global markets, because Bolton enterprise isn’t  just a name, it’s the future, and also a dream, I’m willing to undergo any months of training just to be the perfect CEO.”
I smiled and they resumed clapping, this time it was powerful and loud.
But my father didn’t, he looked quite unimpressed. “That’s such a powerful speech, but I can’t make the decision alone, that’s why the board will vote, let’s see if you convince them enough.” He muttered.
He turned to face the members smiling, “Let’s begin to vote !”
All of a sudden I felt this nausea gnawing at my stomach.  I had no idea how this was going to end.
I excused myself and slipped away to the restroom turning on the sink washing my face then I looked up leaning against the sink staring into the mirror.

What if I’m not enough for them?
After all, I'd never visited the company for once, so I’m sure they only clapped because of the respect they had for my father. Dumb speech!
How could a spoiled twenty-two-year-old inherit a position he didn’t work for?
“It’s hot in here,” I snarled, loosening my tie.
But the real question was;
Do I really want to be their CEO?

As soon as I stepped out my father was waiting for me.

He winked at me. “Are you nervous?”
“Of course not,” I lied.
He wrapped an arm around my shoulders as we both walked towards the door. “I know you too well son, but it’s fine, you can go home and grab some rest, they have the whole day to think.
“Really?” I asked almost relieved.
He nods, “Yes, or do you want me to show you around?”
“I’ll pass, I got a migraine,” I mumbled.
He patted me on the shoulders, “I understand, take care, son,” He said as he rounded the corner.

It’s evening and I’d come to cool off in a quiet bar, alone. A glass of tequila was in my hand as I took a sip, feeling the burn in my throat. I needed the drunkenness, nothing else.
I stopped drinking when I saw a familiar figurine stride in.
It was Betty.
She strode in wearing a red dress that barely covered her cleavage or thighs, her brown hair was let loose over her shoulders, she looked like a model, a captivating one. But she wasn’t alone.
I recognized him from a few days ago, the same man I’d seen kissing outside a restaurant.
They were all touchy and loving and this made my stomach tighten with rage.  She was never like this around me, infact she never  wanted  people to see her around me, like I was some sort of disease, or failure.
She beamed from ear to ear leaning against the counter both of them speaking to the bartender while the guy grabbed her close for a kiss, a long passionate one.
I wanted to look away but I couldn’t, that should be me not him.

Just immediately, Heather walked in, it was like she read my mind because why was she at the same bar I was at?
Her black pencil heels clicked against the tiled floor, They complemented her black net dress, hungry men gushed at her as she walked by, she was a pretty lady it was impossible for men not to notice her.

I waved at her and she smiled, grabbing a seat beside me. “Hi, CEO, it’s nice to see you  again.”

“Well, I’m not CEO, yet,” I said sadly looking down at my drink.
“Aw. “ she said but I didn’t respond or pay attention to her words, my gaze was on Betty, her smile had died and it seemed like she was arguing with her new boyfriend.
What could be happening?
Heather followed my eyes and smiled. “You know her?”
I didn’t respond. I just kept watching them, until I noticed something strange. He was dragging her out of the club like a child,  and she was mouthing words I couldn’t hear.

What the hell was going on?
