Betty.

Maybe Michael was right about one thing.

He’d never be right for me.

Well, it took him ditching me as if I were some desperate girl begging for his attention, but I guess it was what I  needed to finally come to my senses.
Still, the sadness of saying goodbye lingered on, it’s been two weeks since that night at the bookstore, maybe it's best I  keep it that way.
I stared at my reflection applying a dark shade of brown lipstick letting my lips turn up in a smile.
“Betty, you’ve got this, you always got this,” I  snickered, batting my artificial lashes. “ It's been two weeks without  his touch, without his dick…” I whispered, caressing my oily skin, “ and here you are… perfectly fine and sexy.”
I said trying to convince myself but deep down my soul still longed for him.
I got up on my feet smoothing the fabric of my red dress then I  grabbed my small silver purse. “Today is the day,” I said to myself slipping on my heels, immediately the doorbell rang.
My heart leaped a bit.
I threw the door open revealing the face of a caramel-complexioned handsome-looking man dressed in a crisp ironed suit and tie, he was of normal height, a bit taller than I was but not as tall as  Michael, his brown hair slicked back and his teeth flashed white at me like he was advertising for a toothpaste brand.
“Hello, Betty,” he murmured his voice deep with bass that made me have instant goosebumps. “You look… ravishing.” He said as if searching for the right words.
I smiled back at him. “Thank you, Duke, you look even more handsome in person.”
Yes, another online date! We matched on Facegram, unfortunately, the loneliness got to me, with Maya gone it was even worse, forcing me to reinstall the damned app. Love can't be lost, right? Or so  I told myself to maybe console myself.
We weren’t a thing, at least not yet, we were just… getting to know each other, flirting, texting, and spamming each other with sexy pictures of one another.
I promised myself that I wouldn’t be in a relationship with a man again unless I was crazy in love with him.
If he didn’t make my inner thigh moist like the way   Michael did, then I wasn’t interested, but staring at him now made me forget my own rules.

He stepped forward offering an arm, “Shall we?”
A giggle escaped my lips as I slipped my hand through his arm catching the scent of his expensive cologne.  “Of course.”
My eyes caught sight of the expensive Rolex watch he wore and what made me even more stunned was the black Limousine waiting right in front of me.

Damn! He was richer than I thought.
Finally, we are seated inside, smiling at one another like two teenagers in love.
“That  red dress suits you, you look surreal!” He gushed, his eyes scanning me like I was a snack he wanted to devour.
That wasn’t all, he kept complementing me all through the ride, it was so effortless it almost felt like he’d rehearsed them. This felt like love-bombing and I knew it would be wrong and against my morals and standards, but then… even if it was… I didn’t care, I’d just go with the flow.

“I’m so obsessed with your eyes.”
“Please stop!” I blushed.
He grinned. “Are you sure? I don’t want to be punished by the beauty goddess for not acknowledging her beauty.”
We both laughed in unison and for a moment I forgot all about Michael.
Then Duke reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a white blindfold.
“Can you trust me?” He asked.
I paused, half smiling, half taken aback. “ Should I?”
“Yes, you should.” He winked.
I let him tie the blindfold gently yet firmly around my eyes, and all of a sudden the world went pitch black. I could only feel the car moving and his Constant kisses on the back of my hand.

After a few minutes, the car came to a stop and I heard the car door open. I felt a cold breeze brush my face and then his voice cut into my thoughts.
“You can remove it, now.” He said.

I slowly took it off and immediately I gasped.
We were both standing on a super yacht, under the beautiful setting of the sun.
The violin music filled my ears and a small crowd of people smiled at me. From their dresses, I could tell they were hairstylists, chefs, a champagne server, and a photographer.

As I stepped aboard, cameras began to flash at me, and I felt like a celebrity at that moment.
I faced Duke who was smiling at me, enjoying my reaction. “Fuck! Duke, what’s this?”
“This… is a proper first date, I don’t do mediocre.”
“Wow!” I gasped, still surprised, there were rose petals everywhere, candles in crystal holders, and a table for two.
He guided me to take a seat, and the champagne man stepped forward pouring golden liquid into our glasses.
“No one has ever done this for me, you are amazing,” I confessed, forcing the tears back down. I couldn’t afford to ruin my makeup.
“Well, this is just the beginning, if you’re my girl, I’d give you the world because you deserve everything special on earth,” he said.

“Are you asking me out?”

“Maybe.”
We laughed again, together in unison.
“You are making me fall in love with you,” I said.
He winked at me, "That's the big idea.”
We danced as the violinist played a slow romantic song. His hands on my waist and my hand on his neck, as we smiled into each other's eyes, I leaned in to kiss him but he turned letting the kiss land on his cheeks, we both laughed in embarrassment.
“I’m sorry.” He says.
“It’s okay.”
I rolled my eyes and he pulled me close, kissing me intensely, the crew clapped and cheered and I laughed against his lips. For the first time in weeks, I felt loved again. Special, not lusted after.

After an hour the yacht ride ended and Duke and I returned to the limousine.

I stared out the window reminiscing on the memories of that night.
“I don’t want this to end,” I gushed.
“No?”
I nod, “ Take me home with you.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes!”
Within ten minutes we arrived at his place, which was a mansion,  a huge one, everything I’d expected from a billionaire after seeing the yacht.

It was fully furnished with expensive artwork and household appliances.
Yet it felt almost… empty, void of people, if I said anything right now, I’m sure it would echo.

I stepped into the living room, “Where are your staff?” I asked.
“Well, they leave before I get here, I like my peace,” he muttered.
“That’s weird…”

“Why?”
“Don’t mind me, I’m just playing around, I agree with you, your peace should be paramount.”

He smiled at me and that did something to me, it sent a small shiver down my spine, but I pushed it down with a smile. A reckless one that revealed I was impatient.
I needed to feel his cock inside of me. When we reached the stairs, I stepped right in front of him and kissed him passionately again. I could tell by his reaction that he was surprised.
“I can’t wait, let’s do this!”
He grabbed me by the waist, “ First, let me show you something."
He led me down the dimly lit hallway, I was curious, didn’t know what surprise was waiting for me, after all he was a box of surprises.
We stopped in front of a brown wooden door.
He reached for a key with a skill key holder, his gaze never leaving mine.
Suddenly I heard the door unlock and it cracked open.

I stepped in, expecting a massive presidential suite but the moment he turned the light switch on, my heart skipped a beat.

What I saw made my jaw drop. On the walls hung whips, chains, handcuffs, and a rope neatly arranged in sections.
There was no bed in sight, not even a sheet, just weapons used for pleasure, dark ones.
I swallowed hard, I wasn’t expecting any of this.
“Duke…. What the hell is this?” I asked.
He stepped behind me, his hands on my shoulders.
“Welcome to my  world!”
I walked further into the room, admiring the collection of whips and cuffs, I’d only seen such a thing in movies or read about them in books I’d never had the luxury of experiencing them.

“So this is what you’re into, huh?” I managed to ask, trying to keep my voice steady.
“I told you, I don’t do mediocre.”
“I see,” I said, still walking around checking them out but in my mind I was trying to decide if I should be frightened or intrigued.
“I can ask my chauffeur to drop you off at your apartment, if this is too much for you, I won’t touch you, not until you ask me to.”
My heart raced again, I was in a great dilemma. What should I do?
