Chapter 139 I will not embarrass you or put you in a difficult position.

“What… what do you mean?” Aria asked, her voice shaking as she stared at Daisy in disbelief.

A tear slid down Daisy’s cheek.

At that moment, Aria felt like the Daisy in front of her was not the same person from before.

“Da… Daisy?” Aria called, her voice unsure.

Daisy wiped her tears and forced herself to look straight at Aria again.

“Jessie… the woman who is with Dominic right now… she is the one who killed my sister. She is a murderer. I hate her, Aria. She is a cruel person.”

Aria could not understand what she was hearing. Daisy’s tears kept falling. Aria did not know what to say, so she stepped forward and pulled Daisy into a hug.

She held her tighter, trying to steady her shaking body.

“Shh… it is okay. I do not know what you have been through, but if you want to talk, I will listen,” Aria said softly.

Daisy pulled away from her and wiped her face again.

“I am sorry. I did not mean to break down like this.”

Aria nodded and gave her a small smile. “It is okay.”

“About five years ago, I had an older sister. She lived a happy life with her small family. She believed her marriage was perfect. No fights. No silence between them. Everything looked peaceful.”

Aria said nothing and focused on every word Daisy said.

“But then my sister found out the truth. The love her husband showed her was nothing but an act. He was hiding his affair behind it.”

“My sister could not accept it. She asked him to choose. And that useless man chose that woman.”

Aria covered her mouth with her hand. She could not believe what she was hearing.

“My sister fell into depression. In the end, she chose to end her life. And she took my twin nieces with her. They were only six months old.”

Aria felt her body go still as the shock settled in.

“And do you know who that woman was?” Daisy asked, her eyes fixed on Aria, waiting for an answer.

Aria could not think of anything. She slowly shook her head.

“That woman is Jessie.”

“What?” Aria shouted without thinking.

“You are shocked, right? I was even more shocked when I found out that Jessie was the former lover of my boss. And now I see her again in this office. I want to destroy her. I want her gone,” Daisy said, her anger barely under control.

Aria could not say a single word. Everything Daisy said still held her in place.

The more she thought about it, the more her situation looked like Daisy’s sister’s.

The only difference was that she would never go that far. She would never destroy herself. And she would never drag innocent children into it.

Jessie.

That woman was the one destroying everything.

And now her own marriage was on the edge.

Aria already knew what she had to do next.

Jessie had to pay.

After breaking a woman’s heart and destroying the future of two innocent children, Jessie had returned again. And this time, Aria’s marriage was the one being threatened.

Jessie ruined lives.

“At Dominic’s family house, that morning, I saw him with Jessie. They were together in bed. They did not even care if someone might walk in. They were lost in each other,” Aria said, her voice steady but filled with pain.

Daisy closed her eyes. She had expected this. Jessie never changed.

Daisy placed a hand on Aria’s shoulder.

“Do you know what that moment did to me, Daisy?” Aria continued. “My world broke apart. The night before that, Dominic and I were together. We shared everything. So what did that mean? Was I not enough for him? Did he still need her?”

Aria lowered her head. Tears slipped down her face.

“When I found out that Jessie was his first love, I lost myself for a while. I did not know what to do.”

She paused, then lifted her head again.

“But I am not someone who gives up easily. At first, I wanted to walk away. But walking away means losing without a fight. And I refuse to lose like that.”

Her gaze lost its warmth.

“If in the end Dominic does not stay with me, then I will make sure both of them fall apart completely. Because you know something, Daisy? My past is not as clean as people think. The innocence people see is just a mask. And now, they will finally see who Aria really is.”

A small smile formed on her lips, but there was nothing kind in it.

Daisy watched her closely, her expression hard to read. At that moment, it felt like everything was finally working in her favor. She had been searching for a way to take revenge on Jessie for what happened to her sister, and now she had Aria, whose marriage was also being destroyed by the same woman.

She refused to waste this chance.

She did not know when something like this would come again.

“For now, let me take care of my husband first. You know my touch can not make him feel at peace,” Aria said with a cold smile.

Daisy did not respond. She only watched her.

Aria went upstairs to her room. She had just finished making dinner for herself and Dominic.

As she reached the bedroom door and stopped, she heard low voices coming from inside.

Curious, she opened the door without knocking.

Dominic was on the phone.

The moment he saw her, his expression broke and the phone slipped from his hand.

“Aria?” he called out.

“Why do you look surprised?” Aria asked. “Do I look like something frightening? You even dropped your phone. What is going on? Who were you talking to?”

She stepped forward to pick it up, but Dominic quickly pushed the phone away with his foot, sending it under a small cabinet.

“What is wrong with you, Dominic? Are you hiding something from me?” Aria asked, and the doubt in her grew stronger.

Dominic said nothing. He looked like someone caught doing something wrong.

Aria walked closer and bent down to take the phone from under the cabinet.

The screen was dark. She pressed the side button, and the screen lit up, showing an ongoing call.

“Jessie?” Aria said quietly as she looked at him. “Are you bringing work home now? If that is the case, then what is the office for?”

She paused and glanced at the clock on the wall.

Then she smiled.

The smile made Dominic go still.

“I have prepared dinner. If you are hungry, come downstairs and we will eat together. If not, you can continue your call. I am sure the person on the other side is waiting to hear your voice. Do not worry, Dominic. I will not embarrass you or put you in a difficult position.”

Aria took his wrist and pulled him closer.

She opened his hand and placed the phone back into his palm.

“Come down, dear. You will regret it if you miss food made by the best cook in this house. I will be waiting downstairs.”

After that, Aria walked away, leaving Dominic standing there.

Her words kept repeating in his head.

Dominic tightened his grip on the phone, his hand shaking as if he wanted to crush it.
